I have to read The Joy Luck Club for English Honors and I just finished the book ,but I do not understand the point of the book! I don't understand what the plot line is. If someone asked me what the book is about I would respond my saying "Umm..June and her mom..and The Joy Luck Club...bad lives in China, being raised in California. Have friends that mad the club."

Please help me out to understand the book, thanks in advance!

Don't tell me twilight series, i read it. i want realistic fiction, and it had to be first person narration, meaning the narrator uses me, I, my, we, ours..etc. But, if there is a really good book that is not realistic fiction, still put it on the list. Thanks in advance!

Did anyone of you read the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton? I thought it was a wonderful book! Does anyone know if her other novels are good, like, That Was Then This is Now, Tex, Rumble Fish, or Taming The Star Runner? Did you watch the outsiders movie? The guys are so good looking! And if you did not see it, i recommend you read the book then watch the movie, and watch the extended virgin, because in the original they cut important parts, but the extended one will make more sense....
