  • Why do doctors/scientists classify menstruation as the beginning of a woman's cycle?

It doesn't make any sense. Menstruation only happens because the egg didn't get fertilized. Logically, menstruation is the END of the cycle.

An egg is released. It travels through the fallopian tubes into the uterus. It "dies" from lack of fertilization. The uterus cleanses itself to try again.

You clean your kitchen AFTER you cook, right?

  • Why does my cat's breath smell bad?

I've looked stuff up, but I have a more specific question I can't find an answer too. I'm not sure exactly how long it's been smelling bad, but I did start getting him treats about a month and a half ago. And I do know it didn't smell before that. Is it possible the smell is because of the treats?

Also, I got him a flea collar at the same time I started getting treats. He's not used to having something around his neck, so he licked at it constantly. I decided to take it off of him yesterday. He's a completely indoor cat anyway and it's winter, so fleas aren't a big deal at the moment. Is it possible licking at the collar was making his breath stink?

  • Does this sentence make sense to you?

I'm working on a fanfic and this does make sense to me, but as I'm the one writing it, I already know. I just want to make sure it makes sense to other people.

That the one person who did know was Lucius Malfoy was unpleasant at best, as many of the Order still didn’t fully trust either Malfoy… if at all.

If more context is needed, I can put up the whole paragraph.

  • Bump on middle finger from holding controller too tight?

So a few hours ago I noticed a bump on the middle finger of my right hand. It's on the side that touches my index finger right on the middle joint. It doesn't hurt and it's solid, not much movement and there's no fluid in it. I wasn't sure what it was from at first but when I started playing my ps3 a little while later, I noticed that that spot hurt a bit. When I looked at it, I realized that the spot the bump is on is right where the outside corner just below R2 sits on my middle finger.

I've been playing God of War the past couple of days and today I was doing The Challenge of the Gods. The 10th challenge is INCREDIBLY frustrating. I gave up and decided to try again later. It was after that when I noticed the bump was there. Before I started playing again, it had gotten smaller. After I stopped playing again, I didn't even think about the bump until I randomly felt it when my fingers touched. It was bigger than it was the first time, but it's gotten smaller since I noticed it again.

Is the bump most likely because I was holding my controller too tightly?

Anyone else ever have this problem? If so, will taking a break from gaming for a couple of days help it go away?

  • What are the requirements for a dream to be recurring?

I don't remember how long ago now, but I had a dream about being attacked by a bear. I didn't really think much of it. Two nights later, I had another dream about being attacked by a bear. It wasn't the same, just the bear. The night after that I had a third dream about being attacked by a bear.

All three of the dreams were different scenarios of me being attacked by a bear. Would that be considered recurring?

  • Locked out of Facebook?

I was going between two different facebook profiles very quickly. Now I can't log into either of them. I get a message saying "You are trying to often. Please try again later."

I haven't gotten the passwords wrong for either of them except one time, but that was well before I couldn't log in. Also, I can still log in on IE, but not Chrome.

Will I be allowed to log back in soon? If so, about how long does it take?

  • Should I apply ice or heat?

I've had a really bad cold for a couple of days now. I was in bed most of yesterday trying to nap, but couldn't really. I woke up a lot during the night too. Anyway, I was laying on my right side for most of the night and now my hip hurts. Should I put ice or heat on it?

  • How long will it take to see results?

I know not to expect a miracle. I would just like some sort of time frame so that I don't get disappointed when nothing has happened yet.

I weigh nearly 300 lbs. About a week ago, I started exercising and eating healthier. I've added a lot of fruit and yogurt to my diet. I'm working my way up to vegetables still for two reasons: 1, there are very few vegetables I can stand the taste of. I can't even eat raw carrots because of a traumatizing event in my childhood. And 2, I don't have the money at this point in time.

I exercise 30 minutes a day and today I managed to keep it up for an extra 10.

Anyway, how long will it take for me to notice a difference? I know because of my size there will be a point where I drop weight quite quickly because I burn more calories than someone 50 or 100 lbs lighter than me.

  • Are these typical Ritalin effects?

I'm a little on the warm side, even though it's cold. I can feel my heart is pumping a bit faster than normal, but I feel calmer. Is this what I should be feeling?

Before anyone starts on a "drugs are bad" rant. It was prescribed to me yesterday by my doctor for ADD and anxiety. I'm mostly wondering if this is how I should be feeling if I have ADD.

  • Does getting fuller faster mean my diet is working?

I wasn't going to add anything here because it's a pretty straight forward question, I just want to avoid certain answers.

I'm NOT crash dieting nor am I on a "fad diet".

All I'm doing is eating healthier and I've cut my daily calories to 2000. I've also started exercising daily. I'm not stupid. I know what's good for me and what's not, so I don't want to see anyone getting into anything that I haven't said or asked.

Please, JUST answer the ONE question I've asked:

  • Blue crash page on youtube, but only with chrome?

So when I try to get on youtube with Chrome, a blue crash page comes up. It has a little folder in the middle with a dead face on it. It says, "Aw, Snap! It looks like this page crashed" under it. Beneath that, there's a gray button that says "Download and install update to fix this problem." While this page is up, I can still hear the sound from the videos.

Youtube still works on IE so is this actually a Chrome problem or do I have a virus?

  • Will this help me lose weight?

I know almost nothing about weight loss. Nearing 300 lbs, I'm finally doing something about it.

I understand that there's no miracle fix and it'll take a while to see results. I'm just wondering if what I'm doing will work.

First of all, I'm watching what I eat and making sure I don't go over 2000 calories. I'm adding more fruits, vegetables, and yogurt to my diet. I've already cut out junk food few a few weeks ago and pretty much the only fast food I eat is subway, which is way better than other options. From now on when I get food there, I'll only be eating half in one sitting and I'll save the rest for the next day.

As for exercising, I've decided I'll be doing fifteen minutes of a few different things every other day. I won't be going into details, but I will tell you that is does get me sweating and my heart rate up. On the in between days, I'll be marching in place for 30 minutes. I'd go walk outside, but it's cold and snowy, so that'll have to wait until it gets warmer. This is just to start with until my body has gotten used to the movement. When it starts to get easier, I'll start adding more time and more difficult movements.

If I manage to stick with this, should I start seeing results in the next few months?

I also plan on getting a Wii in the near future and a couple of the Just Dance games.

  • How do I write dialogue with two characters speaking at the same time but aren't saying the same thing?

To be more specific, the characters are both replying at the same time, but they have different answers. I've seen it done a couple of different ways, but I'm not sure which way is right or best.

These are examples using the exact words I have in mind.

    ex. 1:

    "... for a kiss"

    "Fine." "Hell no!"

    or

    ex.2:

    "... for a kiss."

    "Fine-"

    "Hell no-"

I'm not sure which one would be right, but the second seems best to me. If there's a different option, please let me know or point me some where I can find out.

    Thank you!!

  • Dropped my laptop on cement when it was on. It still works. Will it be ok?

I was carrying my laptop on and open to show someone something. I tripped and dropped it. It landed almost flat on the bottom on a bare cement floor. It closed and the disc drive popped open. I immediately opened it up and it went to the login screen. I signed in and everything seems to be fine. It's not making any weird sounds and the screen is fine. The worst damage I can see are a few scratches on the bottom.

Should it be okay? I'm kind of don't want to turn it off now because I'm afraid it won't turn back on.

  • Did any Harry Potter book actually STATE that Draco had the Dark Mark?

    Or is it just conjecture?

I've read HBP a couple of times, plus I've gone through and checked any parts that would have mentioned it. I don't recall there ever being ACTUAL proof that Draco did, in fact, have the Dark Mark. I believe Rowling did this on purpose to let us decide whether or not WE thought he had it.

If there is proof, I would like a page number please, not just your opinion.

  • Why do I feel drunk when I'm not?

I woke up today feeling dizzy and I couldn't quite walk straight. I haven't drank in a month and even when I am drunk I can walk better than I was earlier.

I only ate once yesterday and when I first ate today, it was about 22 hours since the last time. Was I just lacking some nutrients from going so long without eating? It's been about 45 minutes now since I ate and I still feel dizzy. Will it go away after a while?
