I had a baby in December of 2009, I am now getting my out of pocket bills. Do these payments count towards 2009 or 2010 for a medical expense?

I really would like to have a midwive present for the birth of my first child. I have been seeing an at home delivery midwife however our families are not very supportive and the more I speak to them the more worried I get about possible complications.

This is our first child so it is all very new to us. Does anyone know of any Phoenix AZ hospitals that offier midwives?

My brother unfortunetly had a baby with his ex girlfriend--she stopped all communications with him and did not even notify him when the baby was born. She got married and had her new husband sign the birthcertificate. They have been to court and have proved my brother is the bio father. He was granted supervised vistation then an overnight weekend visit. The problem is he lives in maryland and the mother lives in PA. The mother did not want her son in the car that long in the back by himself so the judge stated that my brother had to keep his kid in PA. He got a hotel room, made meals for the weekend and drove 2 hours to see his son only to find out that they filed an emergency hearing as they claimed my brother would not disclose where he was going to take his son (which the judge did not state he had too)

I am so upset and worried for my brother and his well being and want to write a letter to the judge expressing my views on how this is being handled. Do you think that is a good idea? and will the judge even read it?
