  • Is it odd that I barely need sleep to function?

I'm seventeen years old - an age where I supposedly need lots of sleep. Yet this does not seem to be the case for me personally. I mean, I feel better when I get more sleep, but though I do feel a bit tired when I sleep for only four hours, it's not too distracting and it's not tired enough for me to really notice when my mind is focused on something. For reference, I got four hours of sleep the nights before the PSAT and the ACT, which I made a 1460 and a 33 on respectively. I really don't seem to need much sleep to function. How unusual is it for a teenager to be that way?

  • Why do I lose my appetite when I m stressed?

In general, the internet warns that when you re stressed you tend to overeat. But for me, it s the exact opposite - it s a chore to even eat small amounts of food. Does anyone else diverge so much from the normal consequences of stress, and can anyone tell me why?

  • Should I capitalize "king" or not?

Right now I'm writing an essay about William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" for school, and I'm referring to King Claudius as "the King" at a certain point. I know in general you would capitalize the noun, because it is referring to a specific person; however, I'm also quoting Hamlet's line about catching "the conscious of the king," in which the word is lowercase. I'm worried it would appear inconsistent if I capitalized it in the main body but not in the quote. What should I do?

  • Is 16 years too old to read Young Adult literature?

I'm a 16 year old boy, and I must say I really enjoy certain young adult novels (John Green, Rainbow Rowell, etc.) Since the majority of my classmates do not read period, I find it hard to figure out whether I should have outgrown this category by now. What do you all think?

  • Why des everyone hate product placement in movies so much?

In my opinion, seeing real-world brands makes a movie more realistic and therefore a bit better. Why do so many people consider product placemen such an insult to people's intelligence?

  • Does anyone else absolutely despise Family Guy?

In my opinion, the cartoon Family Guy is absolutely disgusting and completely offensive. There are jokes about subjects like rape and racism, which are too serious be joked about. Heck, some of the jokes SUPPORT those things (seriously?!). And as if offensive jokes like that aren't enough, it also feels the need to be ridiculously juvenile. What kind of person over the age of ten laughs at pooping and farting?!? And I'd also like to remind you of the cutaway gags. There's NO POINT TO THEM WHATSOEVER! Most of them aren't remotely funny; they're just there for the sake of being there. And the setup to these jokes is incredibly forced; people say things that don't make a stinking ounce of sense unless you see the cutaway gag. AND (yes, there's more!) the show just tries too hard to be edgy. I have no problem with inappropriate humor, as long as there's more to the humor than just being inappropriate. Family Guy does not have this honor; it seems to think that if it references sex or violence, it's automatically funny. Um... that's not how things work. Finally, the humor is very random, which in my opinion is more stupid than funny.

Okay, I'm willing to admit Family Guy can occasionally be funny, but in general, it's an awful show that deserves to be cancelled.

  • Am I the only one who's annoyed at how "90s kids" sometimes act online?

Now, I was born in 2000 but I'm NOT just going around acting like the 2000s were better. Not being around in the 90s, I can't really compare the decades accurately. No, for all I know, it really is the amazing era you say it is. That's not what bugs me.

What bugs me is the assumption that anyone who grew up in the 90s is automatically better than anyone who didn't. Again, it may well be a better era - I can't say - but just because you come from a good era doesn't mean you're a good person. Your knowledge and accomplishments are what make you a good person, and I'm sorry, but if you really brag so much about the year you were born, you probably don't have much to brag about.

Oh, and another thing that bugs me a bit is assuming things are 90s-specific when they aren't. I grew up with VHS, art sets, scented markers, and Koosh balls too, and while I didn't play outside on the streets like 90s kids supposedly did, the vast majority of kids in my class did. Even the term "Whatever" is used all the time by kids at my school.

  • What do newer Doctor Who fans think of Series 9 compared to classic Who fans?

As someone who loves the classic series of Doctor Who, I'm quite enjoying Series 9. But given all the references to classic Who (the Tom Baker lines and classic Daleks, the Zygons and references to their first story), I was wondering what those of you think who don't watch the classics. Oh, and if you do watch them, I'm still interested in hearing your thoughts, so I can see what classic Who fans think as a whole.

Basically, just say your thoughts on the season so far, and also mention whether you've see classic Who and what you thought of the references.

  • What is this episode of The Big Bang Theory?

I remember this scene in one episode of TBBT where Amy or Penny (I can't remember which) shows Sheldon Little House on the Prairie (or something like it). She thinks the main character of the movie is cute eating a peanut butter sandwich, but then Sheldon points out peanut butter shouldn't have existed at the time, and if he knew it was about time travel he would have watched it sooner. I saw it 2 or 3 years ago; can someone tell me what episode I'm thinking of?

  • Has The Big Bang Theory gone downhill?

In my opinion, it definitely has. The old seasons of the show always focused on them being nerds, and most plots had to do with science and/or geek culture. You know, like them competing in the Physics Bowl or getting a Lord of the Rings prop... episodes like that are classic. But nowadays, every episode is about relationship crisis. I honestly don't care about Amy or Bernadette, because they're not what I watch the show for. If you ask me, they shouldn't've given them girlfriends.

  • What's this Muppet TV special?

I remember seeing a Muppets TV special maybe five years ago, but it could have been a rerun. It was a Christmas special where the Muppets went to the North Pole. They meet a man who has always wanted a bicycle, but was on Santa's naughty list, and at the end, he gets a bicycle. Can someone tell me what this special was called?

  • Your own theories on Doctor Who series 8 trailer?

In my opinion, that one robot with spikes on the back of its head could somehow be a robo-Silurian. I think it's Davros who is saying, "I see into your soul, Doctor!"

    Any theories of your own?

  • Was "The Flintstones" made mainly for kids or adults?

To me the stories and characters are more of something from an adult animation, but since it was prime time and it has the laugh track, and was made in the Saturday cartoon era, it also seems to be for kids. Who was it intended for?
