  • Was that a real terrorist in Bruno?

Just saw Bruno, loved it. What gets me is the part where he interviews a "real" terrorist in Beirut. I know much of the film is staged, but I can't tell with this.

All google seems to bring up is the interview Cohen had with Letterman about it.

It says the terrorists name in the movie, but I can't remember it.

Does anyone know for sure whether the man was actually associated with a real terrorist group?

  • How safe is the LA subway?

I just moved to LA and believe or not the subway actually goes between my apartment and places I need to go. I thought great, but when I tried it, I very nearly got into two fist fights by 2 different crazy people who were smashing trash cans, screaming profanities, and trying to pick a fight with anyone on the train. I wasn't even going through any bad neighborhoods.

I have ridden several of the main subway systems in the world, and have never had something like this happen.

Did I just get an abnormal experience? (it was a sunday) or is this common on the LA trains.

Please understand this is not some noob tourist scared of the local "color"- these were both situations that could have gotten pretty violent.

Anyway I'd really like to use the train instead of drive, but if this is a typical day I'll keep polluting in my car.

  • Moving out of Apartment, how to get maximize security deposit back.?

Moving out of my first apartment after 3 years. Minor wear and tear, but carpet is stained and probably needs replacing (only about 300 sq. ft worth). My question is how much maintainance should I try to do before I move out to maximize the security deposit I get back. Should I pay to have the carpet shampooed? Putty up nail holes in the walls, or does a landlord typically say its not good enough and charges you anyway.
