Just curious: do most atheists consider themselves liberal politically?
I know I am. My family -- all Christians -- are very conservative. I'm just wondering if this is typical.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoEveryone: why don't you just admit that you're in denial?
You all know that there really are invisible leprechauns under my bed, why do you still deny it?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoTheists (especially Christians), has this happened to you?
Whenever I have a conversation with a person and as we're talking the person says "Well, the Bible says..." or "Jesus said..." my brain automatically shuts down and I don't hear anything else said. Not to be rude, of course, I just cannot force myself to take anything a person says seriously after that.
Have you ever had a conversation with someone and that person's eyes just glazed over and you don't know why?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAre there really people who believe evolution has no evidence?
I can't get my head around this. Have none of these people been to school? Do they completely reject facts?
28 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoDoes it make sense to ask questions about certain groups of people...?
and then block those people from answering?
Isn't blocking the people who know the answer akin to asking a Klansman what it's like to be black?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality9 years agoHow does this make sense?
So, theists don't know the answer to something and automatically assume "GAWDDIDIT" but atheists try to figure things out and they're called "stuck"?
Isn't it the theists that are stuck?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIf God can heal everything, why doesn't he?
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAmericans: do you really believe "Freedom of religion" excludes freedom from religion?
My own brother believes that anyone who doesn't believe in a god -- any god -- can't be a "true" American. Is he part of the majority?
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoDid I miss something?
How exactly are the "real Christians" here better than everybody else? And why do they (who say they're trying to "save" me) insist on blocking me?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIs there a reliable way to determine if one is pregnant without taking a pregnancy test?
A friend of mine is very worried.
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoIs there a point to asking atheists a question and then blocking them so they can't answer?
How does that work?
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAre the Methodists having attendance issues?
I keep seeing their advertisements on here....
And why was this originally routed to the "politics and government" section?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoAre Christians really this thin-skinned?
Not all, of course, but I just got blocked by another fundie for answering "Prove to me it's 'the Word of God' and then we'll talk."
What can I give them to assist in their spinal growth?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow come theists keep asking questions for atheists to answer...?
... and then block the atheists who want to answer?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhy should atheists trust Christians when they can't even agree with each other?
Many Protestants don't even accept that Catholics are Christian. How can we trust you if you don't even trust each other?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoIs it just me, or are there an awful lot of angry theists here this morning?
Some of the angry, hate-filled and spiteful things I've been reading today make me wonder why anyone would even want to be a theist.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow does this make sense?
A guy just wrote that
"a cult believes in a strange doctrine different then what a general religion teaches, such as a cult teaches jesus was a space alien where as most other religions teach jesus was god in human flesh."
Does that mean that if the majority of people believed "strange doctrine" then it would be okay?
What exactly does "strange doctrine" even mean?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSeiously, if some crazy extremist Muslim burned a Bible...?
isn't it likely that an equally crazy fundamentalist hoard would go on a rampage?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy does it seem Christians have an aversion to paragraphs?
Is that symbolic? Maybe if they throw walls of text at the rest of us we'll "see the light"?
