I know I am. My family -- all Christians -- are very conservative. I'm just wondering if this is typical.

You all know that there really are invisible leprechauns under my bed, why do you still deny it?

Whenever I have a conversation with a person and as we're talking the person says "Well, the Bible says..." or "Jesus said..." my brain automatically shuts down and I don't hear anything else said. Not to be rude, of course, I just cannot force myself to take anything a person says seriously after that.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone and that person's eyes just glazed over and you don't know why?

I can't get my head around this. Have none of these people been to school? Do they completely reject facts?

and then block those people from answering?

Isn't blocking the people who know the answer akin to asking a Klansman what it's like to be black?

So, theists don't know the answer to something and automatically assume "GAWDDIDIT" but atheists try to figure things out and they're called "stuck"?

Isn't it the theists that are stuck?

My own brother believes that anyone who doesn't believe in a god -- any god -- can't be a "true" American. Is he part of the majority?

Is it a conspiracy?

How exactly are the "real Christians" here better than everybody else? And why do they (who say they're trying to "save" me) insist on blocking me?

A friend of mine is very worried.

Not all, of course, but I just got blocked by another fundie for answering "Prove to me it's 'the Word of God' and then we'll talk."

What can I give them to assist in their spinal growth?

Many Protestants don't even accept that Catholics are Christian. How can we trust you if you don't even trust each other?

Some of the angry, hate-filled and spiteful things I've been reading today make me wonder why anyone would even want to be a theist.

A guy just wrote that

"a cult believes in a strange doctrine different then what a general religion teaches, such as a cult teaches jesus was a space alien where as most other religions teach jesus was god in human flesh."

Does that mean that if the majority of people believed "strange doctrine" then it would be okay?

What exactly does "strange doctrine" even mean?

isn't it likely that an equally crazy fundamentalist hoard would go on a rampage?

Is that symbolic? Maybe if they throw walls of text at the rest of us we'll "see the light"?
