1) Do you think having all of this instant communication, great and useful as it is, is a distraction? If so, how big of a distraction?

2) Does it bother you when you're trying to talk to someone and they're texting/etc while you talk? What about if you're just casually hanging out?

3) What kinds of effects do you think all of this constant instant communication has on typical face-to-face-meeting? Does it lower the quality, tec?

Also, I would love it if anyone knows of/has any cool articles on this topic I could use. I'm writing a research paper so I'm trying to find as many sources as possible. Thanks in advance!

What would be considered the 'defining' event of each of these years? Preferably involving America but and major world event would be cool to. I know 2001 had 9/11 and 2005 had Katrina, but what about the other years? I'm working on a project of sorts. Thanks in advance :)

I've been playing acoustic for about three years and I'm ready to upgrade. So, what should I look for in an electric and can anyone suggest any good guitars. Prices would be nice too. Thanks in advance.

So, I was going through my wardrobe today and i realized something - it's a schizophrenic mess lol which got me thinking...I don't really know what my style is anymore :O Help? Here's what I have/like:

- Band tees - both classic and modern rock

- graphic tees

- a couple flowy blouses/babydoll tops

- argyle

- jeans (mostly skinny jeans)

- i have no skirts

- cable knit sweaters

- hoodies

- cardigans

- hippy jewelry (wooden bracelets, peace signs, etc)

- punk/goth jewlery (skulls, daggers, etc)

- i like pearls

- converse

- flats

- beanies/berets

i think the problem is, i like everything. my wardrobe roughtly half-bohemian half-emo rock or whatever. is there a way I could combine both styles? I'm starting college this fall, and, as I've given away most of my clothes, I need to buy new ones. i shop everywhere but i hit up thrift stores a lot.

I need a job, at least for the summer but no one's hiring and if they are they only want people with job experience, etc. Is there anyway I can make some money over the summer? Please help.

I have relaxed african american hair. It's really dark and very long (mid back) and I usually just wear it straight and down. I like my hair but it seems really flat and I would like for it to have more body/volume. Are there any cuts/hairstyles/techniques out there that could give my hair more volume or the appearance of being fuller?

So I'm thinking about going to Warped Tour this year.

i've never been really sure of this question just because there are so many jobs and salaries always vary, so exactly how much would be a good salary (starting out)? Is $22,000? a decent salay? $34,000? more? How much do you have to make to qualify as being middle-classes?

i also know a 'good salary' varies depending but how much would you need to make in north carolina? california?

10 songs you HAVE to have on your mp3 player/ipod/whatever, no matter what.

A cat had four kittens a few weeks ago. They are currently living on our porch (we can't take them in as we already have too many pets. we're planning on giving them and the mother away soon.) Three out of four have their eyes open and all are starting to walk around a bit. The fourth kitten can't seem to open its eyes though. I've tried cleaning it's eyes/face with warm water, warm soapy water, and hydrogen peroxide but these seem to be inefective as the kittens always ends up with its eyes closing back up. It also seems to have a lot of eye slime. I can't afford a vet right now. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'll be going to college there and i was just wondering because some people have told me that it's horrible and that theres a lot of it. But then again, ive also been told that the crime isnt any worse than any other large city. so, what do you say? and are there any areas i should try to steer clear of?
