  • Why do we continue to make an issue of somone's personal religious beliefs in a secular society?

    The Constitution says:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press".

Yet we continue to make someone's personal beliefs, the manner of their worhsip, or if they worship at all is somehow relevant.

The First Amendment categorically states that one's religion, or lack thereof, is a personal issue and is not really relevant to politics or one's suitability for public office, any more than it is for any other form of employment.

Yet it is always the first thing to be exploited as a poltical issue; more often used as a weapon to distract others from the real issues in a poltical campaign.

  • We are all African-- Does that disturb you?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two big genetic studies confirm theories that modern humans evolved in Africa and then migrated through Europe and Asia to reach the Pacific and Americas. The two studies also show that Africans have the most diverse DNA, and the fewest potentially harmful genetic mutations.

They tested these changes to qualify them as benign, or potentially affecting genes, amino acids and eventually proteins in a way that could damage health or make people less "fit" -- in evolutionary terms, less likely to survive and reproduce."Like every other study ... the African-American panel as a whole showed more variation than the European-American panel," [a team member stated]

  • Why do so many people keep insisting Obama is a Muslim?

Obama was born in Hawaii. His middle name is Hussein but that does not make him a muslim or a terrorist, anymore than the fact that George Washington and King George had the same first name made Washington a British spy or sympathizer in the American Revoution.

Elections are supposed to be about an EDUCATED electorate making INFORMED and RATIONAL decisions on who they vote for.

So why are so many out there making ignorent, uninformed and clearly irrational statements that are clearly false and misleading, when a little basic research could provide the truth?
