  • Civil Union question?

If two people get involved in a civil union (not a marriage) and that civil union gets broken off, is there still the process where each person loses half their stuff, like in a divorce? Or does the civil union just sort of end? Obviously I'm just referring to places where civil unions are legal.

And what about a domestic partnership? Or is that not a legally recognized union?

  • Why is it that when...?

Why is it that when sensible corporate sponsors were dropping Glenn Beck, he couldn't stop quoting the old poem "First they came...", saying that if people didn't stand up for him, eventually they'd come for you, and comparing his dropped sponsors to Nazi's and Communists....

But, now that WI Republicans are actually gunning against the trade unions, this poem is conspicuously absent on his show, along with the Nazi references, even though there's actually a line in the poem about the Nazis going after trade unions.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilVJJqUqp_Y

"First they came for the communists,

    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,

    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,

    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

    Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me."

Is this just a double-standard? Or does Glenn Beck just not understand what he's talking about when he compares current people/things to Nazism?

  • Pennsylvania Senate race?

From what I can tell, it seems like the conservative commentators on networks like Fox seem to be "rooting for" Joe Sestak over Arlen Specter. I was wondering why this is. Specter seems to be more of a conservative Democrat, while Sestak is more of a moderate to liberal Dem.

The NRA gave Sestak an F rating, and he voted for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 and supported health care reform. Wouldn't the conservative base want a more conservative Democrat in office rather than a liberal one? Do conservatives feel betrayed by Specter since he ditched the GOP last year and they look at this as revenge? Or are they that enthralled by Sestak's naval career? I'm not really sure what the reason is.

  • A question for the Anti-Obama legion.?

Is there anything Barack can do to win your trust? If he goes through his first four years, and ends up being as good as Lincoln, will he still be the Muslim Kenya-born Anti-American terrorist that you all know and hate? Is there anything he can do to win your appreciation?

  • Registering for the election?

I am currently 17, but will be 18 in a few days. I want to vote in the next presidential election, but I've heard there are registration deadlines. I live in Wisconsin, is there a cut-off for registration there? If so, what is it?

Also, if I want to align myself with a party, how much are party dues?

  • Force Unleashed Star Destroyer?

I'm at the part of SW: Force Unleashed where you have to use the force to bring down an Imperial Star Destroyer, and I"ve seriously been at it for about 45 minutes now and it will not go down. Every time I do the analog stick usage perfectly, but it will not bring me to the part where I can pull it down. I can't use the Force to lock onto the barrels to throw at it or anything. I have no idea how to do this. I haven't died yet, because the Tie Fighters aren't hard to handle, but the Star Destroyer is impossible to take down. How the heck do I do this?

  • Good Disturbed songs?

I've always been into older 60s/70s/80s songs (Stones, Beatles, Boston, etc.), and I have been playing Guitar Hero for about 2 years now and have been playing Rock Band for about 6 months. Stricken was on GH3, which was one of the better songs on that game, and I downloaded the Disturbed pack for Rock Band because a friend told me the tracks were fun and the songs were good. He was right. The songs are Indestructible, Inside the Fire, and Perfect Insanity. Are there any good Disturbed songs that I haven't mentioned? I'm sure there are plenty of fans out there that could help me out.

  • Application Fees?

I've noticed most upper-level colleges (such as Ivy League) charge an application fee if you apply, usually in the range of $50-75. I've been getting an urge to apply to upper-level colleges just on the off chance someone might accept me, even though I wouldn't have the money to go, but I don't want to pay $50 for this. I've looked through MIT's web site, and they don't seem to mention anything about a fee, but I don't want to get tricked or anything.

Does anyone have any knowledge on this subject?

  • Halo 3 Skill question?

I recently got my Gunnery Sergeant Grade 2 rank. I figured I would go for Spartan Officer, which I know takes 10 skill in a ranked playlist, so I figured I'd go for it in Team Slayer, which I have 4 skill in already (my highest). I went into Team Slayer (Yes, I'm sure I went into Team Slayer, not Social) and I proceeded to go 5 wins, 1 loss and I was the MVP for 2 of those games. I gained 0 skill. So, I was kind of like "umm... what?" and then went to Lone Wolves ranked, I have 1 skill there, I went in, and went 2 wins, 0 losses. I still didn't gain any skill.

Has anyone else had this problem? I thought you were supposed to gain 1 skill on about every win?

Don't respond with "You were probably on Social Slayer" or something, I am 110% positive I was doing ranked Team Slayer.

  • Dislocated Kneecap?

I dislocated my kneecap in gym class at school today. I had to go to the ER, because the athletic trainer couldn't get it in. It hurt like mad to get put back in, but now I feel fine. I'm wearing an immobilizer on my knee, but it feels like I could walk on it. Should I risk it? I recently had foot surgery, and had to use crutches for 8 weeks, and 2 months later, after that, I now have to wear crutches for another 2 weeks~ and I really don't want to deal with it because I feel fine.

Should I go for it? Or is the risk too great?

  • Unknown white spots?

I have about half a dozen unknown white spots on my inner right thigh (near the genitals). I am a virgin, so, I don't think it's herpes or any STD.

They itch a little, but it's not like, unbearable or anything.

    Any ideas?

  • Network Administrative Career?

I am rapidly approaching graduation, and I am thinking about being a Network Administrator with my life. Someone who is kinda-sorta an IT guy who runs a network at an office building or something.

    One question though.

What sort of Major would I be looking at here? Computer Engineering? Computer Science? Neither of the above?

  • Creatine Supplements?

I've been thinking about getting on creatine supplements to build muscle.

I had surgery about 3 months ago on my foot, and I'm kind of just getting back to normal, but in the wait where I couldn't do anything, I put on some pounds that I wish I didn't have, so I figured if I picked up some creatine at Wal-Mart or something and get on an exercise program, I can get back to normal or better, maybe improve my overall health.

But, my question is, is it safe to use creatine?

    I'm 17, 6'2", 185 lbs.

  • Why does the government?

Why does the government only care about things like, steroids in baseball, the Grand Theft Auto Hot Coffee mod, P2P music sharing, when we have a multi-trillion dollar national debt, an overseas war, a poor health care system, and record gas prices?
