Why do we continue to make things that are bad for the environment?
An excellent example of my question is hairspray products. It was determined that aerosol cans were hurting the ozone layer and so they made plastic pump spray bottles...but yet they never stopped making the aerosol cans. Why? Something was deemed bad for the environment, an acceptable substitute was made to replace it, but instead of replacing it, we now have the either or option. In my opinion this is an extreme waste of our resources. Why have both when we only need one? I know personal preference plays a role here, but when our environment is at stake, I think personal preference should take the back burner. Instead of spending the money to manufacture 2 different bottles of the same product, one in an aerosol can and one in a plastic bottle, would it not be cheaper to put all resources into making ONE plastic bottle? Thus saving on time and labor and making the one product cheaper? This theory goes for all things, not just hair spray...hairspray is just an example...
11 AnswersOther - Environment1 decade agoI have read that if both parents have blue eyes their children will not...how true is this?
I was researching genetics and read that if both parents have blue eyes, they can not have blue eyed children. This is true in my case because both of my parents have (and had) blue eyes and my eyes are green. Now, my husband has brown eyes and our daughter has the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen.
9 AnswersBiology1 decade agoWhat religion is it when...?
one believes in a "Higher Power" but does not believe in that Higher Power as something that needs to be prayed to for forgiveness or other things, does not go to church because they do not believe in what the Bible says is exactly what happened? Not saying that the Bible is wrong, they just can't believe that most of those things are accurate? I know it is not Atheist, because they do not believe in ANY Higher Power. Does anyone know what religion or faith this line of belief most closely resembles?

5 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoWhy did automobile manufacturers start using those blue hallogen headlights?
I have never liked those as a replacement to the standard yellow colored ones. All those blue ones do is blind oncoming traffic. Especially if you have cataracts, like I did. I was finally able to have my cataracts removed, but I can't stop thinking about those people who can't yet. Cataracts have to be a certain size before they are deemed surgically removable. This growth can take years. I was 28 when I had both eyes operated on to remove mine. (I had the ones that you can get at birth, which is why I was so young.) And I did not have a choice but to drive because I HAD to get back and forth to work and things. I was often driving at night and when a car with those blue headlights was coming my direction, that was ALL I could see. I could not even see the car in the lane directly in front of me anymore. I wonder, did the manufacturers take that in to account when they started putting them on cars?
4 AnswersSafety1 decade agoWhat is your sign, really?
I have a serious question, please no goofy or insulting answers.
I have always been interested in astrology. I am having problems, though with interpretations and such. Why is it that your astrological sign is that when you are born and NOT when you are conceived? Wouldn't the act of being conceived be a more absolute? I mean, take my daughter (well, and myself) for example. My daughter's due date was june 21st, (gemini), but she was late and was not born until june 27th, making her a cancer. But she was still conceived on september 22nd. I was the same way. I was due on may 16th (taurus), but was not born until may 28th (gemini). I was conceived at the end of august and I DO have virgo traits.
There are also people who were very premature at birth, being born 2 or 3 months premature. But as I said, their date of conception is absolute. What does this do to their astrological signs? Life DOES begin in the womb, not on the delivery table. Shouldn't this play a role in the zodiac?
21 AnswersHoroscopes1 decade agoWhat is this song? It is NOT on the soundtrack...?
From the movie "Space Cowboys".... It's the rap type song that was playing when all 4 of them were walking up the steps into NASA for the first time. It only played for that one scene and was only for about 30 seconds or so...I have been trying to find it, but there are not enough lyrics to perform an adequate search.
