  • Do I just need more time to move on?

My 3.5 yr relationship ended 5 months ago. I invested everything into it, put my career on hold and he left me for another woman. He also dragged me through alot through the years. I am finally letting go of the hurt and anger. About 4 weeks ago I started seeing a lovely guy I met through my brother in law. He is very sweet and seems to like me alot. We have gone on 2 dates a week since meeting. Texted all day every day. It had been going well. I met up with him tonight. And all of a sudden half way through dinner I had this sickening feeling in my stomach. And thought to myself. This guy isn't the one. All of a sudden I wasn't talkative. Didn't feel like eating. I just wanted to go home. I felt really bad because I had to ask if it was ok if he just took me home.

Since my last relationship I have vowed to always listen to my gut. I don't have any girlfriends to talk to. And my sister is over seas so I can't talk to her right now. I just need some reassuring i think.

  • How do I fix a twisted wooden table top?

I have a large wooden table that has wide planks on top. The table has been in my family for 3 generations and wouls not have been bought new, so it is very old. It had been sitting in the farmhouse used as a storage table with alot of heavy things sitting ontop.

I would like to be able to refubish the tabl as best I can to use as my dining table. I love the old farm house style and like abit of character.

What would be the best way to correct the twist in one of the top planks? I would like to avoid damageing the wood as much as possible. And without beingtoo complex as i paint furniture more than refurbish.

    Thank you for any help!

Poor photo but it is the top table in the image. (Sorry table is at my mums cant take more pics at the moment)

  • Why would my herb and vegetable die in one night of being planted?

I am a first time planter and bought herb and vegetable seedlings yesterday and a few more bags of potting mix to add ontop of the soil i already had in my raised bed. I was careful planting them and then watered well after. All seedlings in my raised garden are now dead and the seedling in a different pot is still alive. What could be the reason?

The place i bought them from has offered to replace the seedlings which is lovely of them. But i still would like to know what i did wrong. The bed is lined with news paper and cardboard at the base and mos of the potting mix has been sitting there for about 5 weeks. And then i added new on top.

Any insight before i replant would be helpful. Thank you

  • Very naughty border collie puppy?

I have a beautiful 5 month old BC girl. The majority of the time she is well behaved for her age. But sometimes she just doesn t listen and gets in her hyper crazy moods. (Hyper is to be expected) every morning my partner locks our 2 doga out of the bedroom as i dont wake up until 2 goyrs after he leaves. After my first alarm goes ofd i let the girls in. chloe knows she is only allowed on the bed when invited. This morning when was still waking up in bed. She jumped up. She knew she was wrong. (This is my pet hate) i asked her to hop down but she blankly refused. I used my "not happy" voice and asked again. I had to pull her down. She jumped straight back up. This happened 3 times. I ended up really yelling at her. Taking her off. Giving her a slap on the but and locking her out of the bedroom. She was not fazed by my extremely angry voice that i have never used on her before. Usually a stern "ah ah" is enough to stop her in her tracka.

I hate yelling at my dogs and using force like that. But this morning. I was exhausted. Stressed and emotional. So getting angry at her has not helped. I know she was just excited to see me. But i cant stand bad manners and want to nip it on the but before it becomes a bad habbit. I know she is still only young. She is always given the opportunity to be a pup. But not a bad mannered pup.

What can i do next time when she is acting up so badly?

  • Puffy gums near wisdom tooth area?

Hi, I was brushing my teeth yesterday and noticed the gum where my wisdom tooth should be (wisdom teeth not through yet) was tender. I brushed carefully but thoroughly. Through the day it was uncomfortable like the tooth was moving. But only a mild pain. Through the day my pain went away and but through the evening the gum started swelling. I rinsed my mouth with warm salt water. I have now worken up with abit more swelling but no pain. No where else seems to be affected. Just uncomfortable to close my mouth.

Is this just a result of the tooth moving underneath or is it food trapped under the gum?

I wanted to try asking here before i booked a dentist appointment because the dentist is a 4 hour drive away and very hard to get into.

  • Male Cat responding to female dog heat? Please help !?

We have a spayed female cat and a 7 month old dog who is in her first heat cycle. And our female cat seemed like she was in sympathy heat? (If thats a thing )

In the early hours of this morning my partner and I woke up to the sound of fighting cats in the house. Our cats fur was everywhere, aswell as smeared feces and urine from distress. Unfortunately the male cat fled when he heard us get up in a hurry.

Could it have been a male cat that sensed our dogs heat or the cats sympathy heat coming in the house to seek it out? We have a stray cat problem in our area.

We will no longer leave our back door open at night.

It was a distressing event and would like some light shead on the situation.

  • How long would this tattoo take?

Roughly in the same area. Minus the large hose shoe and butterfly. And id like a rose in full bloom rather than a bud type rose. Very soft in shading. I have a script tattoo but that only took 45 mins.

  • How much should i expect to pay for my tattoo?

I want to get a tattoo for the 1 year of the passing of my Grandfather. I have a tattoo so I know what is involved. But its script so the pricing would be completely different. I would like a rose about the size of an apple in soft grey and white shading with a stem, a few leaves and maybe a horse shoe the same soft shading thats abit smaller. I think it will be placed on my lower torso upper hip area.

How much should i roughly expect it to cost? I know its hard to say but just so i can plan and save for it.

    Thank you

  • Planting strawberries near other vegetables?

I have read its not a good idea to plant strawberries bear many other vegetables such as Broccoli and Cauliflower. I have a 120cm by 90cm planter i will be using for me vegetable garden and wish to plant these 3 along with a few more. Im guessing keeping the strawberries on the other side from the Cauliflower wont be enough. Would i be able to put some sort of plastic divider in the soil to keep the strawberries seperate while keeping them within the same planter?

    Would this work?

Or does any one have any other ideas?

I would like to try to keep to the one planter of possible.

  • Puppy wont stop peeing!?

We have a beautiful 12 week old Sheltie. We have had loads of puppies before so we are doing everything we know that usually works to house train her. She is also going to puppy preschool so we are also doing everything they say. She gets taken out for "tinkers" alot. There is always someone home.

She is taken out after every nap, every meal, every large drink of water. And she pees every time we take her out.

Even after spending a good amount of time outside for timkers and after she goes a few times. We will bring her back in and then she will pee on the floor several times after that! She just went 6 times on the floor and they are decent sized puddles. We just cannot keep up with it! We have large doorways and walk ways so we cannot come up with anything to gate off the areas that are too hard to monitor her in.

We just dont know what to do!

  • So many pimples. please help!?

I just recently lost my job and I am under a fair bit of stress at the moment. (I always stress about everything). I usually only get 1-2 pimples on my face a week before my menstrual cycle. Its not a week after my menstrual cycle and I have a good 10+ pimples on my face. I have for about 3 weeks now. I dont know how to get rid of them!

I used a genlte daily face wash by the company Simple. And I also have a cleansing scrub I use once a week for removing build up. That one is from Nivea. I only wash my face at night because my face usually gets too dry if I wash in the morning aswell.

I also have not been wearing makeup daily as I dont go out daily. I use Clinique makeup so its not as if I put any rubish products on my face. I live in Australia so we are in our second month of autumn.

I need to get rid of these pimples! They are making me feel worse and more stressed.

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • How can I make ground poles?

How can I make ground poles for training? I eventually want to jump. But for now I need some poles. My dad has plenty of wood poles that are the perfect size. But they are sooooo heavy! And I will have to move them about 3 acres to the area I want to use. As well as move them into a neat pile when i'm not using them. So I was thinking of making or buying some cheap poles. I really don't want to pay for the expensive ones.

I think PVC would be too dangerous and would risk injury to my horse. Any other ideas for light poles that wont cost me my left arm?

  • Pilling bed sheets. Please help!?

I always by 1000 thread count bed sheets because I like the feel and the quality. Ive had a set from target for about 2 years now and they are fine. But recently I bought another set and had to take them back because they were pilling after 2 washes. And now my replacement set have pillled just after one wash.

I only wash on cold water with a gentle cycle. I also do not use a clothes dryer. I cannot be bothered to take these back to do the same thing again. Why is this happening to 1000 thread count pure cotten bed sheets? They just dont feel as nice now. Is there a way to get rid of the pilling without destroying my sheets?

For some reason the new 1000 thread count set is not as thick as my older set. (Both bought from target) should I try buying my sheets else where or is this the new standard?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Sensitive Ribs Please Help?

I am a 22 year old female. For years i have always had sensitive ribs. I cannot wear anything strapless or with boning in the item because of the pressure it puts on my ribs. Sometimes my bras hurt, even sometimes when im slouching for too long. Once my mum had her arms around me because I was cold. She was not squeezing at all but because her arms were around my rib cage i was in pain. I cant even sleep with my boy friends arm resting on my ribs. No High skirts or belts either.

It is so frustrating because I want to be able to wear strapless dresses without being in pain.

    Any insight or suggestions?

  • What should I do with my Passport in Thailand?

I am going to Thailand for the first time in May. I have read many times that I should have a photocopy of my passport as well as my original. And that I must have my passport on my at all times.

I am afraid that I might lose my passport or it may be stolen if I carry it around with me everywhere. So if I carry my photo copied passport; what should I do with the original? Is it safe to keep it in my hotel room?

Advise and any extra tips on Thailand would be much appreciated!

Ps. I am going to Patong Bay. (I'm not sure if that matters or not)

  • How can i overcome my fear?

I am 22 and started riding before I could walk. I had a horse accident a few years ago, (accident was not on my horse) and also around the same time I had to put down my horse. I had my her since I was in my mum’s tummy, so you can imagine the attachment I had. Along with the fall and saying goodbye to my forever friend, I just could not get back up again. And ever since, I have been an extremely timid rider. With the help of my brother I have been able to overcome so much! I am now very comfortable with ground work, walking, trotting, leading, lunging, etc.

But there is just one thing I really cannot overcome. Cantering! I used to love it! Now I just cannot break out of a trot. And every time I try. I get angry with myself! I feel so stupid because it is all in my head! My brother works when I’m not so getting time with him is very rare . And no one else understands it so no one else has the patience. I just don’t know what to do.

I am also saving up to build my first home so paying for lessons is not really an option. I think I would be too embarrassed as well.

Any tips or advice would be fabulous! It’s about time I put this behind me.

    No hate please

    Thanks!
