I love Pink Floyd especially with Roger Waters. I also like Leonard Cohen, Drum & Bass, Ambient & Chillout Music. I have an unusual sense of humour and often look at things from a different angle to most people. I don't like films especially movies. I like to read, but mostly paperbacks. Literature is too hard for me, I don't really get most culture, apart from some accessible classical music.
Formula to calculate uneven quantities?
I need to calculate how you do the best assortment when the quantities are uneven.
If you have:
5,000 of item A
7000 of B
10000 of C
11000 of D
3000 of E
and you have to put 6 in a box with the most even split possible.
I understand that first you add them all up and divide by 6 to get how many boxes you can fill. in this case 6000 boxes, and obviously there should be more of C and D, but I have a block as to the exact formula. ideally I would love to be able to calculate x boxes with split 1 then y boxes with split 2, but without too many changes needed, because this is for a practical application.
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoCan anyone think of a way of writing a formula to calculate how many boxes will fit into a larger box?
The problem is that there are several sizes of outer boxes available, and I need to find the best one that leaves the smallest void space. If, for instance the product is 160 x 120 x 110 and I could use a BDCM1 which is 595 x 295 x 388 or a BDCM2 which is 400 x 300 x 400 or a BDCM3 which is 595 x 295 x 188 or a BDCM4 which is 394 x 293 x 190. I would like a formula to calculate which on would fit the products best. Not easy, but it must be possible. I just need the help of a genius.
Thanks in advance.

15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould the UK borrow more money to give more aid to developing countries?
The UK is now borrowing so much money every day, that we will never be able to pay it off. There are no political parties that put forward paying anything off it at all, and it is seen that it would bankrupt the country to attempt to manage without borrowing. Should we therefore take the borrowing up a level, give more to India and China and then we can claim that it is unfair and have it all written off?
8 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWith so many religions to choose from, why do so many people happen to believe the same one as their parents?
You just don't see many Muslim parents with Jewish children, or Catholic parents with Sikh children. Could it really be just coincidence, or does God put all the right children in the right families?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the funniest joke in the world?
I heard it's the duck joke, but I don't believe it.
For anyone that doesn't know it.
A little boy goes to the door and shouts to his Dad " Dad there's a man at the door with a bill" to which his Dad replies "Don't be stupid, it must be a duck with a hat on"

7 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHow do I get my Access database to append data from one field to a memo field?
This is so I can use it as a CRM package. The database holds info on potential projects, I want a field for latest contact info, and I want that data to get added to the ongoing notes memo field when I press return.
Is there a simple way of doing it?
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoCan an employer change your contract from permanent to casual without making you redundant first?
My friends employer (for the last 5 years) wants to change his contract from full time permanent to casual, paid for each day worked with no guarantee of any amount of work each month. Is this legal? Does he first have to make him redundant and then re-employ him on the new basis?

I think it will probably be Freddie (again!) and maybe Marcus. I would prefer it to be Lisa, Kris or Karly, but I don't think so Sonny Jim.

7 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoDid Jewish and Muslim religion used to be the same,?
They both don't eat pig and they both support a guy called Mo. They both have prayers on a Friday and get their women to cover their hair. I think they are the same religion that has diversified. Any thoughts?
38 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan I use previous losses to offset against capital gains on shares?
I have previously bought shares that have completely tanked. I have held onto them, and some of the companies have gone bust, some others are just about hanging on. I have recently made some profits on other shares and I don't want to pay capital gains. Can I "sell" the 0 value shares to realise my loss now to offset the profit I have made?

Or can you still buy proper meat at some? I have heard the franchisee gets to chose whether they sell halal, kosher or normal meat. Does anyone know whether this is true?
9 AnswersEthnic Cuisine1 decade agoWhere is the best place to go for a quiet foreign holiday from UK?
We used to love going to Kefalonia, but the prices have gone sky high, both getting there and whilst away. The other thing is that it has become too over-developed for us. It is still not bad when compared to places like Kavos, Sidari, Laganas etc. But we prefer unspoilt places. I know there are plenty of untouched villages on the Greek islands, but they are generally inland.
I would be interested to hear peoples suggestions, and if you know any hidden gems out of the Euro zone, even better!
7 AnswersOther - Europe1 decade agohow can the UK afford to give away £ 6 1/2 BILLION of tax payers money each year in aid?
This aid is given to countries like India where there are hundreds of billionaires living who don't even have to pay tax. The lifeboat service in the UK relies on volunteers and charity to keep running, surely this would be a better way of spending this money rather than helping over-populated countries to eat more food and burn more fuel.
