How do you post the Income Summary account in the general ledger after you have done all the journal entries. I understand that the Income Summary is a clearing account, and does not have a chart of accounts number, so then how do I create a chart for it to post it to the ledger? Very confused, please help.

I am given a chart of accounts which has Office Supplies as an account

Now would I a create a new account for Computer Software and put it as a fixed asset or current asset, or would it be under Office Supplies, or is it an expense?
