  • What s your favorite color? Do you know why?

Mine is gold, because it glows in the sunlight. I also wanted to give people a break from the inflammatory, leading, and often stupid political questions. So, anyway, COLORS, AM I RIGHT????

  • Was there a battle in history where militia was effective?

I'm gathering research to write a book. I've read and watched many things where militia is next to useless in actual battles, but I'm curious if there's one where they were effective or turned the tide? I know about the American Revolution battles, but those militia received training before they were useful. Anyone know of any others, or is that about it?

  • Would added mass to a star make it turn into a black hole?

I know I don't properly understand the principle, but as I see it, when a star burns out it either turns to a supernova if it doesn't have enough mass, a black hole if it has too much, or some combination of both. If a huge solid mass, like a lot of asteroids or several planets, were to be consumed by a star, would it have too much mass and collapse in on itself? Complicated question, but I'm just curious.

  • If black people lack sunlight, do they become paler?

Maybe a stupid question, but if white people are deprived of sunlight they become paper. Is the same true for black people, or does their skin maintain its color. I tried looking it up, but I couldn’t find anything.

  • Alternative to daily ibuprofen?

I have been taking 400 mg of ibuprofen a day to deal with neck pain. I just recently learned that could lead to long-term kidney damage. So I tried to find alternatives and all I could find were articles about opioids and articles explaining why daily ibuprofen is bad for you. None of them offered what I should take instead. Anyone out there have any suggestions? I'm becoming frustrated with the internet.

  • Could an enemy order a retreat with one of the U.S.'s own radios?

Okay, I know this is an impossibility in real life, but stick with me. Assuming that an enemy knew all of the army's call signs and codes, could they theoretically take a radio from a dead soldier and order a retreat? Or does the army have a way to know where a transmission is coming from and stopping it? Or alternatively would it create mass confusions as both transmissions from base and the radio contradict each other?

  • Anyone have any non-cursing insults?

I'm writing a book, and I'm trying to keep the cussing to a minimum. I have a character who is a warlord who always yells at people. I have a very limited amount of words I seem to be using. Can anyone think of insults for someone who is incompetent? Maybe incompetent in battle?

  • Where do companies get the money to buy other companies?

This question popped in my head the other day. What I mean is, where do they keep the money for buying? Is it in a bank account taken from their profits? Does the CEO pay for it? Do they keep it in a fund or something? I’m specifically talking about buying companies, not mergers.

I don't know where this questions came from in my head, but when sperm is swimming in a uterus, are they heading directly towards an egg, or do they just swim around and get lucky?

  • Can the M1 Abrams tanks work without computers?

I'm trying to get information about tanks for a fictional book I'm writing. Upon reading about the M1 Abrams series, it seems to indicate that a lot of it's components work with a computer, including sighting and firing. Assuming that the world has ended and it's 20 years later and the computers don't work anymore, could the M1A1, M1A2, and the eventual M1A3 still work without them? Could it still fire? Kind of a heavy question, but I would appreciate a response.

It says that it is downloading at 500 kb/s, but the megabytes that are supposed to be downloaded aren't there, is the speed just an estimate?

  • Can time be sped up?

I know it s theoretically possible to slow down time for people depending on gravity and on speed/velocity, but is the opposite possible? I mean, theoretically speaking. I can t seem to find an answer when searching the internet?
