Made a tiny mistake in my passport application form?!?
The counter-signatory for the person in question accidentally misspelt his name. The application has been away for weeks now and we are travelling soon. I understand that if you make less than 3 mistakes in any one line you should be fine, does this apply here? I am on the verge of a passport induced breakdown as I have been looking forward to this trip for some time now.

2 AnswersPacking & Preparation7 years agoDog isn't eating and stomach is making gurgling sounds?
This started a few days ago but he got better and started eating again. He did have diarrhoea but he wasn't sick and was not in any pain at all, even when I poked his stomach to see if there was anything wrong. His stool more or less went back to normal yesterday, although it was still soft, but today he isn't eating anything and his stomach is making gurgling sounds. Again he is acting normal and playful, and is in no pain. He is normally a fussy eater but today he even wouldn't take any biscuits. Please help as I am worried.
6 AnswersDogs7 years agoDog brought a slug in?
He didn't eat it, nor did he eat any outside since I watched him, but I am concerned about the possibility of any slime on his coat that could possibly give him lungworm. I just got some kitchen towel with some soapy water and ran it over his legs, but I am worried in case he gets it.

4 AnswersAircraft8 years agoI accidentally put W5 rinse aid into my iron, is it dangerous?
Normally we refill bottles with water to use for ironing in the future. Long story short, I used it (the LIDL brand) in my iron and it is now giving off very strong smells and emitting brown liquid. We cleaned it out immediately and the brown liquid seems to have disappeared. I am feeling so rotten and horrible right now that I feel like I am broken my mother's iron. Is this dangerous with regards to the chemicals, especially the fumes?
3 AnswersCleaning & Laundry8 years agoHow to calculate the mean aerodynamic chord for the vertical stabiliser?
I am performing an initial sizing procedure for my conceptual design project and am trying to determine the zero lift drag coefficient for the tailplane such that I can work out the Lift to Drag Ratio for my initial fuel estimation calculations.

Is Zoflora Disinfectant hyacinth safe to use around dogs? My mother used it earlier and I assumed it was ok, but there is a very strong smell and was concerned in case these fumes could be bad for him. It was used in the utility room sink and he sleeps in this room. He hasn't ingested any.
1 AnswerDogs8 years agoAre C-wings limited to large transport aircraft?
I am doing a conceptual design research project and I am stuck deciding between optimizing this concept and the boxplane one, since they both give very promising spanwise efficiency factors. All the studies I have seen appears to limit the C-Wing to larger aircraft, is this the case?

3 AnswersDogs8 years agoI need some advice, I am a dog owner and am obsessed with antifreeze.?
I posted this question on the dog section but I feel like I may get some helpful advice in the Health page. "I am a really loving dog owner and would do anything to ensure my little buddy would be healthy. I found out about the dangers about Antifreeze earlier this year and I go absolutely paranoid everytime I see it now, even if the stuff is nowhere near him. Everytime I see antifreeze and screenwash, I panic and worry in case it is going to leak and my best pal will lick it up(he is a very small fella so very little amounts will be deadly to him). Before I even knew about Antifreeze and its dangers, I was diagnosed with OCD since I had the tendency to worry about my dog getting close to toxic chemicals and ensuring that he is safe from them, and this just exemplifies it further. I have been seeking treatment for OCD for some time now and I am definitely feeling mostly better about most things, but the problem I have is that I dunno whether I am overreacting with antifreeze or not."

1 AnswerStandards & Testing8 years agoSolar Impulse wing design and cost?
For my final year engineering project, I looked into designing a new commercial aircraft that will use solar cells in some form to supplement auxilliary power, thereby reducing overall weight. I have been looking into previous literature on aircraft with solar power capabilities, and the latest one that caught my eye is the Solar Impulse. So far, all I have found is that in order to calculate the amount of power that it requires, it will require a very large wing area and possible changes to the fuselage fineness ratio. The wings themselves has a very different structure in comparison to standard airliners to save weight. The problem I have here is determining the manufacturing costs so I can determine whether or not it is a viable route. The only cost that I know of is that the project itself costs approx. £76 million ever since it started in 2003.
2 AnswersAircraft8 years agoIs there likely to be demand for a triple decker airliner in the future?
Emirates seem very keen on them since they will reduce congestion at major airports, but I dont see the demand for them on Boeing's/Airbus' forecast models, which imply that new 150 seater, narrowbody aircraft are the way to go. Doesnt that effectively make it a niche product then?
6 AnswersAircraft8 years agoAA Battery leakage on sofa, will that person be ok?
I am an OCD sufferer so please be understanding. AA batteries started leaking from the Wii Remotes and some of it got onto the sofa. I immediately cleaned it up with baby wipes and soapy water on a towel, but I didn't know you had to neutralise it. It is dry now, but I'm worried in case people (or my dog)sit there and it causes problems. Should I be concerned for them?
