Physics problem help? Friction and bullets xD?
A 0.004-kg bullet is fired into a 0.200-kg block of wood at rest on a horizontal surface. After impact, the block with the embedded bullet slides 8.00 m before coming to rest. If the coefficient of friction is 0.400, what is the speed of the bullet before impact?

1 AnswerOther - Education9 years agoExternal hard drive problem.. files disappeared and shortcuts appeared??? What to do??!?
I have a Transcend StoreJet 250 GB. When I accessed it, my folders have disappeared, but shortcuts to those folders are seen. I click them but it says my folders have been deleted or moved. My external hard drive only has 45 GB of free space, so I think my files are still there. Files not placed in folders are still there. How do I get my files and folders?
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoWhat are some religions not yet mentioned in Y! Answers?
I want to do some readings on other religions... religions which I may not heard of, or religions which aren't common to the public.
A short description of your suggested religion would be much appreciated :D

8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPhysics question on toilet papers and dispensers?
Assuming I use two toilet paper rolls of the same brand and quality, one new roll, and one nearly used up. Each roll is on its respective identical dispenser.
1.) If pulled with the same force, which would end up tearing longer sheets of toilet paper, the new toilet paper roll or the one nearly used up? Why?
2.) Are there chances that I may get a different result? How, if possible?
Thanks in advance!

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoDid human actions contribute to the decrease in the known accounts of the appearance of the supernatural?
By the way, the "supernatural" term I used refers to "beyond (super) the nature of humans".
Let's say for example, what happened to ghost, the demons, the devils, the spirits, and other supernatural creatures like vampires?!?! I mean, right now for sure, there is less account of these creatures more than before. Did cutting trees decreased the habitat of the spirits? Did habitat fragmentation and succession removed these supernatural creatures?
Or did they decrease because of the advancement of science and concentration of religion?
Or did they decrease because they evolved and adapted to dwell with the humans (is Lady Gaga counted here?)?

2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoDid I do the right thing (rejected a girl twice...)? And what to do after that?
A YEAR BEFORE (like 12 months before, not 2009)...
My ex dumped me just because she "thought" she loved this sex freak she met. Now, she looks more like a slut (and I don't know if it's funny or it's plain stupid...) It was damn painful to a 5 year relationship (T_T)
I decided to give more attention to what I think and what I believe is more fruit bearing... college studies... And I'm gonna stand for it :D... what? It's my current happiness...
CURRENT YEAR (like, a new set of 12 months where in this month is the last month of that year...):
I have a friend who THINKS she loves me (She thinks it's not a mere LIKES ME, I mean LOVES ME). One day, she started admitting her feelings. She said she feels I was sweet to her, and was always there for her when she needed help. Also, she thought a few of our getaways were more of a date. She mentioned that I am the only guy her parents and sisters approve of.
................................. And I was trying to do my best to make her realize that we were only meant to be friends, although I do feel guilty and pitiful for her... (reject no. 1)
Everything went fine for the past few months. She got a boyfriend, we stayed friends, and everything went back to normal (although she had some acts of flirting...).
Then came her birthday. I gave her a teddy bear. I thought it was pretty normal to give out a teddy bear as birthday present. She started crying and said it was her first time getting something like that. As the days passed, I noticed her flirts got more frequent than usual, and gestures like holding my hand and hugging became evident.
Then one day, she admitted again her feelings AGAIN for me. She said they were more intense than before. She even broke up with her boyfriend, expecting I might respond to her cause.
I felt guilty I had to reject her for the second time. Not because she's ugly (well she ain't ugly), or I haven't moved on from my previous relationship. It's just that I'm enjoying studies (what?!?!) and my life as single. But I think it would be best if I rejected her, rather than accepting her out of guilt and pity, right? Did I do the right thing?
Oh and by the way, what should I do after doing the second reject? Cause I kinda feel awkward towards her after that...

1 AnswerOther - Education1 decade agoAre humans the only animal species who need the aid of fellow species when giving birth?
I noticed this upon my browsing on readings about the animal kingdom. It suddenly crossed my mind upon reading on animal reproduction and animal pregnancy. After giving thorough thinking on it, I decided to get more information from people who come across and read this.
I noticed human species are the only species so far in my mind who need the aid of other human species when giving birth, like doctors, nurses, medical practitioners, and midwives. I haven't seen this characteristic in other animals so far.
If ever human species aren't the only one who possess this characteristic, please supply an example.
By the way, I do not intend to offend anyone or anything with this question.
Thanks in advance :D
4 AnswersZoology1 decade agoComputer Noob :D What's a PCI bus?
I'm exploring my laptop, and stumbled upon device manager. I expanded system devices, and I saw this thing called "PCI bus", "PCI Host CPU Bridge", and "PCI Standard ISA bridge." What are those?
Extra question: I also saw somewhere system devices "SiS PCI Express x1, x16 Root Ports". Do they have anything in relation with the PCI bus (I know it's a stupid question...)?
Last Extra question, and I don't even know if it has something to do with my previous question: Can I get another graphics card for my laptop (I have an SiS Mirage 3 Integrated Graphics)?
Thanks in advance! Hope to understand them in layman's term :D
