  • How can I make deli roast beef?

The other day I bought the yummiest angus roast beef from the deli. I was just wondering if I could make a roast and slice it for sandwiches like they do in the deli or do I need special equipment? What kind of roast would I buy? How do I cook it and for how long? The roast beef was nice and pink and juicy and so yummy.

  • How do I connect my new HD TV to the DVD/VCR combo and the cable box so they will all work.?

I can't figure out how to get this all hooked up to work. I have a cable wire that comes from the wall. The red yellow and white 3 split cord and a black wire that fits over the cable connector on the VCR and cable box. Please explain how to set this up in non technical terms, I don't know what any of these things are called.

  • Looking for an specific Oreo cookie recipe?

I am looking for a specific recipe for a yummy dessert. You take a cupcake liner, put an Oreo on the bottom, then make a mixture with cream cheese and other things and put it on top. It is no bake and you don't crush the Oreos. It's not truffles or balls. Does anyone know where I can find this recipe?

  • My Mac Powerbook G4 won't work?

yesterday my laptop was dropped and now when I turn it on instead of powering on it makes that little ringing noise and then a tiny file icon appears in the middle of the screen and inside it a smile face with half a face one color and the other half another color and a question mark alternate blinking in the file. So I tried pushing the option button while pushing the on button and a new screen appeared, it had a circle arrow on the left and a straight arrow on the right. Nothing happeend when I pushed them, any idea what that is or means? What can I do?

The mac people won't even look at it because it is old.

  • I am looking for a specific Ma Pow Tofu recipe?

My son and I eat at a local Chinese place that makes the best Ma Pow Tofu. I have looked on-line for recipes but haven't found one that is similar. I have also had ones from other Chinese places that were different and not as good. The one we like has soft tofu, hot red pepper, green onions, and something that looks like halved small black beans. It is in a light brownish-orangeish sauce. There aren't any vegetables or other things in it. It is really yummy, does anyone know how to make it?

  • Does anyone have expereince freezing and reheating Indian cuisine?

I am planning on cooking an Indian cuisine feast in three weeks. I might make Aloo Gobi (Cauliflower and Potato Mix) or Palak Paneer (Spinach with Cottage Cheese) or Chana masala (curried chick peas). I will for sure make some Dal. Who knows what else but I wonder if anyone here has ever made any or these (or other Indian dishes) ahead of time and frozen them for later. How did they turn out?

  • I have a few questions about getting a camcorder.?

Basically I want to be able to video tape events (son's school plays, church stuff, etc..) and easily convert it to DVD to be viewed on a TV.

If I get a digital video camera, how easy is it to convert my footage from the camera to a DVD? I have a DVD player that can record onto DVD's.

Do digital video cameras also take still pictures?

What is the typical amount of time I can record for before I run out of space?

Would i be better off with a DVD camcorder?

  • Question about my fish tank filter?

I have a 10 gallon freshwater fish tank with a Whisper filter. The setup has a filter and then replaceable cartridges. I just bought the replacement cartridges and they have changed them. The old ones had a plastic frame that you put the bag around then poured in the carbon. But the new one is a frameless cartridge that you simply rinse and insert. It comes with an indicator strip.

    Here are my questions.

    1. Which way should the new filter face. One side is white and the other is green. Which side should face out into the tank.

    2. Also where should I put the indicator strip. It came with a little plastic case that it snaps into. Do I have to push the little foil backing out or just stick it in the holder as is. Do I put it anywhere in the tank or is there a specific spot? The case has an adhesive back.

    Thanks.

  • I am looking for a small indoor greenhouse (not too expensive)?

I love to garden and I am looking for a simple kit that I can use to give my plants a little head start inside. I especially want to grow artichokes this year, they take six months to grow and since I live in freezing cold Michigan I need to get them started inside. I know about the Aerogarden but am looking for something simpler and cheaper. A mini greenhouse with a growth light that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Can any one recommend a kit or a light or something that will help me out?

  • Magic Bullet Mixer???

I love homemade salsa with tomatoes, peppers, onions, cilantro, etc.. I have a little mini cuisinart chopper but it tends to liquefy things. Does the Magic Bullet do a good job of chopping up things without making mush? Bell peppers especially get real gooey and nasty, how does the Magic Bullet handle these? Is it dishwasher safe? If you have one, what do you think of it overall?

  • My 5 year old son has a bad cough?

My son, who will be 5 years old in a month, has a horrible cough. He gets coughs a lot and usually he only coughs at bedtime or first thing in the morning. But this time he has basically been coughing nonstop since yesterday. I took him to the doctor and she said his lungs are clear and he should be okay. She prescribed some cough medicine which I have been giving him but it doesn't seem to have helped. What else can I do, he won't take honey. Can I put Vicks on his chest or should I take him in the bathroom and steam it up? It's a normal sounding cough so i know it's not croup or anything like that. Any ideas? Should I call the doctor even though we were just there?

  • Legally, do I have the right?

to try and make a long story short. I just started a new job and they want me to send a form to my last employer to see if I had any misconduct. I don't.

    I have had some bad luck in the last few years and have left some jobs due to unfortunate circumstances. Some by choice, some not. For example I was asked to leave a babysitting job by a so called friend because her husband didn't like the way my son talked (he has a speech disorder which is being treated). Back in 2001 I was laid off from a teaching job due to budget cuts after working there for 2 years. After that I worked at a daycare center. When I got hired for my new job I told them about both these positions but didn't mention the others because honestly, even though I felt I did nothing wrong, I knew it would make me look bad. When I asked where I should sent the form, they said sent it to where I taught in 2001 One of the jobs I had after that was teaching Pre-K. {More below}

  • I am looking for some good Special Education / Emotional impairments / behavior management books?

I am about to start a job teaching emotionally impaired boys in 2nd and 3rd grade in a very urban school. I have a BS in Elem. Ed and an MA in Special Ed: Learning disabilities. I am looking for some really good books on positive and effective classroom management for Emotionally impaired (EI) students. Specifically I am looking for books that give ideas and strategies that have been shown to work, not just explain what EI is. Thanks

Oh and I know WHERE to find books, I am looking for suggestions of specific titles that you have found to be good.

  • Can I go "Low carb" and still be a vegetarian?

I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, I do not eat meat, poultry or any kind of fish/seafood. I want to lose weight and have heard limiting carbs can really help. Does anyone have any ideas what I could eat (and still feel satisfied) to help me lose weight and continue with my vegetarianism?

  • Are you a nice Seventh-Day Adventist gentleman?

Are YOU the one I am looking for? I am hoping to meet a nice Seventh-Day Adventist gentleman between the ages of 28-40. I'd really like to just be friends and see where things go from there. YES, I know this isn't a dating site but I have tried those without luck so I figured what have I got to lose (besides 5 points). So anyway, if you are interested in saying hello, please do so.

OH and I really don't need anyone to respond in the negative, but thanks anyway.

  • My son is being difficult?

I,m a teacher with an advanced degree in special ed. so I've had my share of dealing with difficult children. But the one that has me stumped right now is my own son. He is 4 1/2 and very strong willed. I'm a single parent and he is an only child. He has been very difficult in the last few weeks. They have had a lot of issues with him in daycare and preschool with incessant crying, saying no to the teacher, refusing to do what he is asked to do, being annoying (like mimicking the teacher, or grabbing a toy from another child and running etc..) At home he is hitting (me), throwing tantrums, not doing as he is asked, saying mean things, and just being difficult. This is the first year he has been in school/day care full time since he was a baby but up until now (15 weeks into the school year) he has been doing great. Honestly I suspect some of this is a result of behaviors he has seen and copied in daycare and I also think some of the other kids may be upsetting him based on some
