Why would anyone want to tie themselves legally to someone who has abused them for 15 years?
My brother invited me to his domestic partnership celebration. His intended has sent him to the hospital twice & verbally & emotionally abused him for 15 yrs now. I'm not attending & he's got the whole family in an uproar over it. I just can't stand to see him cement that relationship when he should be running the other way! He's so co-dependent, it's scary. Now I'm the bad guy!

I'm fairly new to this topic, but scanning over it I've seen more questions designed to provoke than to actually seek knowledge. Granted, some of them are hysterically funny, but what's the draw? Come on, guys, I honestly want to know why this is so much fun that you keep clogging this topic with inflammatory nonsense.
