  • Had the D5300 for 20 days now. But now hinking about returning it for the 70D.?

I was in a market for my very first DSLR. I went into a store debating between the 70D and the T5i. I bought a D5300 because the display model was only $850 with the 18-140 VR lens. I spent 20 days with it (I used to use a SLR but it been 10 years since). I noticed that this camera is somewhat slow. I have two very active toddlers and a dog so I was debating if I'll be better off with a 70D. The main usage would be kids pictures, action pictures, and family videos. Should I get the 70D instead? I know that this will cost me $500 more. Is it worth it?

  • Lower APR vs lender pay closing cost?

Well, we are looking to lock in the rate today. We have the contract. But here's the thing. Our loan officer said we can either take the 3.25% and she will pay $150 toward the closing cost or 3.75% with $3500 toward the closing cost. I did some calculation today and 7 years seem to be the break even point. But we're not sure if we're going to stay at this house for longer than 7 years or sell it within 7 years and move closer to work. What do you guys think?

  • Pre approved for 3.2% rate... is that a good rate?

I was pre-approved for mortgage loan with the current rate of 3.2%. Is this a fair rate for someone who just went through bankruptcy 2.5 years ago with a credit scores of 681, 649, and a 601 (came from the lender herself). Should I keep shopping for a better rate?

  • Associate of Science in Engineering vs Associate in Applied Science (Electronics Engineering Technology)?

I got my bachelor in Anthropology couple of years ago. I landed a job with a third party product testing laboratory. My main job is to investigate product failure field reports. The pay is really good for someone with a non-engineering degree but my manager suggested that I look into a 2 years technical program such as engineering or electrical in order to get a field engineer title and raise my salary. Which is better. a Associate of Science in Engineering vs associate in Applied Science (Electronics Engineering Technology)? There are 2 nearby community colleges by me. One offers Associate of Science in Engineering and another one offers Associate in Applied Science (Electronics Engineering Technology). I'm not looking into getting a BS in engineering because I'm planning on attending grads school for business management later. But in order to advance within this company, a MBM means nothing if you lack technical background. I'm not sure what's the different tween the two and which is more suitable for field engineer.

  • Am I obligated to help my in-law?

My mother in law (who I don't get along with) asked her 2 children to loan her $10k to fixed up her new house. She foreclosed on her $600k home and bought a $20k house with her saving. My sister in law make as much as me and both our husband are stayed home dad. She told her mother that she have no money or credit to help her but she travels to once a month with her family to the Caribbeans, Europe, and Asia. Now my mother-in-law is pressuring my husband (the son she never cared about till she learned that we have kids) to get the money from me. I been saving my own house. Would it be wrong of me to just say hell no even though I have to money.

  • Mother in law from hell... how to deal with her?

First my mother in law abandoned my husband after his older died. She said to him all hopes are lost. 20 years later she wants to get back into my husband life because we have twins babies. She because every intrusive and controlling. My husband got very upset with me one day because I refused to give his mom $10k that she wants to borrow. But I work by myself (my husband is unemployed with no benefit left) and that $10k is our whole life saving, which i kept for emergency. That night my husband threatening me. He always say that he will kill me jokingly but it gets to point where I think he might be serious about it. So I called police. I called my mother in law to let her know that her son got arrested and can't enter our house for 72 hours. I was going to tell her that I will pay the bail but he can't come home because of the court order so she should go pick him up. The first thing that came out of her mouth was "why didn't you let me borrow your money?" and "i'm going to call child services on you." She wants to call child services on me because i "work all the time and have no time to take care of my 2 babies and the house." I'm sorry but it's her son who have no job. I work the normal 40 hours a week, with 1 day of working from home.

It been a month now. I refused the testify and the charge was dropped. Is it too late to do something about her threat? What can I do to protect my kids and myself if she try to play that card?

  • Grammar help... Does this sentence sounds ok?

Does this sentence sounds ok? Am I using the word 'responsiveness' correctly? What else is wrong, if there is any?

  • Anybody ever donated their dresses to the Glass Slipper Project?

I read their rule that said dresses should be less than 5 years old. I have 2 prom dresses, the ball gowns kind. They are 10 years but they are in perfect condition. They were kept in the plastic tub, nice and sealed. I hate to throw them away because they are very expensive $500 each. Can I still donate them? Why is there a 5 years rule?

  • Should I follow up with the HR or wait?

I was interviewed for an internal position on Monday and Tuesday. HR manager said that they should have the answer by Friday because they want to fill the position ASAP. It is now Friday afternoon. Should I call for the status update or should I wait, perhaps till Monday morning?

  • Interview question: Why do want to leave your current position?

How bad did I screw up when I replied "well, my sales associate position was eliminated as of last week and I was put into an inside sales position where I don't truly feel comfortable in. There's a lot of pressure of meeting the $$$ quota. I'm seeking a position that is more suitable for my skill"

A little background: This was in an internal job interview for an admin role.

  • Interview for an internal position... your take on the situation?

My interview yesterday was scheduled for 2 hours, 1 with the direct manager of that position and 1 with the director of the department. It went for 2 and a half hours. Today I was scheduled another 1 hour interview, this time by the HR manager. The interviewed went for 15 minutes and she only have 2 questions for me. The vibe that I got from her was “let just get this over with”. She only asked me 2 questions was I supposed to keep talking to fill the 1 hour slot? Does this mean that I’m out of the equation? That they no longer interested in me?

  • Babies spoons and BPA?

My mother in law bought some baby spoons from a dollar store (which I oppose). The package have no BPA label or any recycle logo with 3, 6, or 7 on it. In fact, the package contains very little info beside "12 plastic baby spoons" and "Made in China". Can this product contain BPA? I don't want to risk it.

She have a guest room but no furniture so she wants us to sleep over on the floor. Was it wrong of me to tell my husband that the babies cannot go there until i see some paper work that her dogs are current on their shots?

  • gestational diabetes drug recall... took it for a week then give gave birth 32 weeks into pregnancy?

I was 31 weeks into my pregnancy when my OB prescribed me Glyburide for my gestational diabetes. A week later my water broke and I gave birth to premature twins. When I got home from the hospital I found a letter waiting for me from Walgreen stating that there is a urgent drug recall for Glyburide due to Labeling: Incorrect or Missing Package Insert: Product is packaged with an obsolete version of the package insert (outsert).

Should I be concern? Could this have affect the outcome of my pregnancy? And could this post any long term harm to my babies? It sounds like just a package insert that was wrong. Can I sue them?
