  • Wedding party question? help?

I'm trying to put together my bridal party, but I have a question I can't find the answer to online. My wedding will be in a Catholic church, but one of my really good friends is a conservative Jew. Could she stand up with me as a bridesmaid? Or is that not allowed? I don't want to ask her because that might be awkward if she can't. Can anybody help?

  • Text messaging error?

I have a first gen moto x phone that uses its factory-installed messaging app. It will sometimes tell me that I have unread messages, but hide them from me. If I correctly guess who sent the hidden message and text them (or they text me again), it shows up, but otherwise, I have no idea who sent me a message. I've seen to go to app manager and do something about badges, but I can't find that. Halp?

  • Is it illegal to share someone's personal information?

I recently got a rental car from a dealer, and it had a slip of paper in it that had somebody's full name, address, telephone, what kind of insurance they had, the policy number, and their driver's license number. Isn't it illegal to have that information where others can see it? That's technically sharing it with me, and I could have done all kinds of malicious things with his information. Lucky for him, I just want to shred it.

But my question is: is leaving all that personal information out like that illegal?

  • What should I give my cat to play with?

He absolutely loves strings and gets very excited to play with anything that looks stringy. BUT if he gets a hold of it, he gnaws at it until he can eat the whole string. We've gone through a lot of those fishing pole teasers because he eats the string. What can I give him to play with that he can't eat? I want him to still enjoy stringy toys, but it can't be good for him to eat string like that. Any suggestions?

  • What can cause a person to sleep for extended periods of time?

I've had a few days lately where I slept 24 hours, give or take, and I was wondering if it could be from low thyroid. My doctor says I have a low level, but it's within the normal range.

What do you think? Do you know anything else that would cause this oversleeping if it's not the thyroid? I don't have the flu or a cold or anything, and it's not depression.

  • What kind of shrimp looks like a ghost shrimp...?

...but is bigger? I saw some in a pet store the other day that looked like gigantic ghost shrimp, and the associate told me these ones were more aggressive. Anybody know what I'm talking about? There were two kinds of similar shrimp in that store.

  • Thinking of getting a hamster. Advice?

I am considering getting a hamster as my new pet. I have a space set out for the cage and everything.

In your opinion, what is the best kind of hamster? Why is that the best? Have you ever had a hamster?

Should hamsters be kept in pairs or alone? (I've read differing opinions on that online.) Is there much difference between males and females?

I've had gerbils before, so I know basic rodent care; is there anything specific about hamsters I should know? Is it true that you can litter-train them? How?

Sorry for so many questions in one, but I'm really excited, and I want to pick the best one and take the best care of it.

  • I need new fish names?

Hey, so I just got some new fish for my tank! They're so pretty and happy (except when the other angelfish in the tank chases them...). Anyway, they need names, and I was hoping for some new ideas.

One is a baby hybrid black angelfish (either that or he's a black ghost--he's black with a short of golden-y/silver undertone), one is a calico angelfish, and the other is a blue betta.

What do you think? Any cool ideas for names? I was thinking maybe Poseidon for the betta.

  • Can anybody tell me what sex my angels are?

I have a white angelfish named Oscar and a black and white one named Gill, and I'm having a hard time telling if they're boys or girls or if I have a pair.

    This first picture is Oscar:

    This next one is Gill:

  • Am I the only one who feels bad?

Or does anyone else feel really bad when their fish get sick? I just found one of mine with Ich, and I almost cried. It feels like it's my fault he's sick and it'll be all because of me if he dies.

  • Should I put her back?

I thought my ghost shrimp died because it got pale and stopped moving. So I took her out and put her in a jar of tank water to go trade for a new one at the pet store. Did you know that a dead shrimp will turn pink, but one that's just moulting will stay white? My question, then, is should I leave her in the cup? Or should I put her back in the tank?

  • Should I take advantage of the sale?

My LPS is having an aquatics sale! Tanks are $1/gallon and substrate/decorations are also on sale! I already have tanks set up, but isn't it always awesome to have more?? I mean, who doesn't love having more fish? I would love to take advantage of the fish on sale too, but if I get another tank, it would have to wait to cycle. But seriously, $1 per gallon!

  • How to tell fry apart?

I just got new baby fishies! Some of my livebearers have been giving birth this afternoon/evening, and I noticed that all the babies look very similar. So my question is whether anybody knows how to tell molly fry from guppy fry from platy fry from swordtail fry?

  • Molly swimming vertically?

So my poor black molly has been having difficulties lately. She got very pregnant and then caught a fungus, for which she is now being treated. Thank goodness, she is recovering nicely. I'm not sure if she's still pregnant--she doesn't look skinny like my other molly, but she's not square anymore. Well, today I've seen her now and then swim with her tail down and her nose toward the top of the tank. I'm a big fan of showing pictures to let you guys know what's going on, so here she is:

That's compared to how she looked a few days ago, which was this:

Is this the fungus still bothering her, the pregnancy, or something else?

  • Possible Ich problem? Help, please!?

I'm freaking out a little right now. One of my fish has white spots on her and she's keeping her fins clamped. I haven't seen her flashing, but I'm really worried she has Ick, and I don't want her to die! The pet stores are closed for the night. I took her out of the main tank and put her in a bucket of conditioned water (the best I have for now), and I turned the heat up a few degrees in the main tank. Is there anything else I can do for my fish?

  • She'll give birth soon?

I have a beautiful black molly whom I love. She's been getting fatter and fatter, and today and yesterday, I've noticed her getting more square as well. Earlier this evening, she was bullying the other fish in the tank, nipping their fins and chasing them away from the little spot I guess she claimed. Now she's moving much slower and breathing heavier (I can see her gills more, but I'm not sure if that's partly because she's starting to change colours) and getting bullied by a little guppy. I can post pictures if that'll help. I just want to be sure she's going to have babies soon and isn't sick before I get too excited.

  • Does ink go through glass?

I have this fish tank. I want to draw on it with Sharpies and make it extra-awesome, but I don't want to harm my fish. So I want to know: if I draw on the glass, will the ink leak into or through the glass? Or would it be safe to draw?

  • Will a snail eat fry?

I found a snail in my aquarium with my new fish. My fish are livebearers. The snail is tiny--smaller than most of my gravel--but could or would he eat the fry? He's cute, but I don't want him there if he'll eat any babies I get.
