  • If God is good then why . . . ?

    If God is good

then why do so many children die in suffering and pain from disease, abuse, and starvation every single hour in this world.

What sin did they commit to deserve such treatment before they could even attempt a life?

    So, is God

    weak

    indifferent

    or evil?

  • Why is it that the historical importance of events seems paramount to belief.?

Why is it that certain believers or groups demand the historical importance of events within their religious texts? Is the importance of teaching require it to have actually taken place?

Does a parable require the story to be an historical event for the parable to have meaning, ie., the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

To my own mind the teaching is either true or false regardless of whether it was historically acted out, and as such if true then valid, but I would really like the views of others.

Only your own views and no trolling. This is a sincere question requesting an honest appraisal.

  • Whatever happened to the good olde days?

things have gotten so whiny with all of these phoo phoos crying about how cold it is. oh, boo hoo.

Time was you could lose a foot juss walkin' in from the stables.

And this crap on TV. an' nothin' ta doo tillun the new season starts.

whatever happened to a good ole pillage wit the gang?

you'd pull yur longboats up on shore and in the distance there would be that familiar wail of the women as the villagers all scrambled about. Me an the lads would take our time gettin' suited up, of course. dont wanna rush the follk. ya gotta give em time to set everything up. There's an art to a good pillagin', though yungins dont understand that these days.

Backen the days, me an the lads would take our time, sort things out, make a real day out of it. you know, keep that festive air to the whole thing going all day long sometimes thru da night even.

    But these days, awwck.

the boys just go rush in, rape a couple a sheep, stab a couple of villagers, then back to the boats an off home affore bed time.

    .

an we're all like, "where's the heads?

    where's the bags a plunder?

where's the cheiftan's daughter toa ransom back, unlessen she takes yur fancy?

naw, the good times arrr gone an done.

guessin I could catch up on Jimmy Fallon and have a tankard or three.

maybe go stab an ogre for ole times sake. Least they know how to enjoy a cold cold bite.

  • why is abortion not a civil rights issue?

This occurred to me the other day when the "rape insurance" bill was past.

Clearly conservatives are restricting women from a safe and legal medically approved surgical procedure. A fetus that can not survive outside of the mother's body can not be seen as anything other than a part of that woman, attached and dependent, medically no different than an organ.

If so then does this not restrict women from being able to choose what is done to their own person?

If so, is this not a direct violation of her rights under the Constitution for self self-determination as a free human?
