If you were a punctuation mark, which would you be, and why?
sparked by a different question asked here. I thought it would be interesting to read the answers.
As for me, I would be an ellipsis. I feel like there is always more to be said because there is always more to be learned. In the same way, I feel as though my life is an ellipsis.

12 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoThanksgiving Exercise?
Thanksgiving is upon us
True - 'tis that time of year
So shout your thanks from hill and dale
Let every mortal hear!
You may have a beat up car
or just the shirt upon your back
But one thing we all know
A computer you do not lack -
So we can be quite certain
there's at least one thing for you to say-
Now, tell us what you're thankful for -
And have a Happy Turkey Day!
(ahem - and make it rhyme ;)
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoIn one word, how would you describe "Words and WordPlay"?
"THANKS!" to so many of you here who make this forum SO much fun!
I LOVE being here at YahooAnswers - especially "Words & WordPlay". I have learned SO much --- from others as well as being spurred on to research new information for myself (I'm an info addict, anyway - this place just feeds my hair lol). And I enjoy sharing what little information I have to offer :)
In one word, I would say "Words & WordPlay" is ...
****Broadening****
What one word would YOU use to describe this particular forum in YahooAnswers?
7 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoHomonyms, Homophones, and ummmm ...?
To be homonyms, words must sound alike AND be spelled alike, but have different meanings, as in the words Bear (an animal) and Bear (to carry).
To be homophones, words must sound alike and have different meanings, but they may or may not be spelled alike, as in the words Heir and Air.
So, all Homonyms are Homophones, but not all Homophones are Homonyms.
Now, my question is this:
Is there a special "name" for words that are spelled alike, have different meanings, but do not sound alike, as in the words Wind (breeze) and Wind (curl)?
4 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoA little off topic for "religion/spirituality" forum but I have to ask ....?
This is where I spend most of my time, but I am still a newbie to these forums so I wanted to ask this question here: Why do you give "thumbs down" to people?
Okay, if the answer is rude or way offbase or even against your own beliefs, I get that. But I was just on a thread that was simply asking for info. The person ahead of my resply was doing a beautiful job of answering the question (it wasn't a debatable thread at all - strictly informative) and she had two thumbs down already :?
A similar thing has happened to me. I just find it odd.
Are these people who will just go around giving negatives for no reason at all? Do some of you dislike some of our religious standings so much that you cannot even agree where non-debatable, information-seeking questions are asked?
I'm just flummoxed about this and thought maybe some of you would have some insight to share.
Thanks in advance
