I used to get to as many questions as possible, now I answer for fun. Also, I am currently learning Japanese as a second language.

  • How to dye shirt designs different colors?

Please pay attention because I don't want any misunderstandings as to what I'm asking.

I am planning on dying a cotton shirt, but not the whole thing. What I have is a shirt that has a floral design on it. I want to just dye the design a different color, not the whole shirt. Um, to put it more precisely, take this shirt for example: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-91269773393716_2196_2...

I want to dye the white flowers a different color, but do not want to alter the rest of the shirt.

I do NOT want to use shirt paint, I want the fabric itself to be colored. Is there any way to achieve what I'm looking to accomplish? Please let me know in detail how I can achieve what I am looking for, or if it is doable at all.

    Thank you all!

  • Manga/Anime I can sincerely laugh at?

To put it simply, there's just too many dark and sulky manga and anime out there. It's depressing, seriously. Those stories that point out all the flaws in human behavior, how selfish and terrible we really are deep down. Sure, those stories END happy...most of the time...

It's the contents that just get me so down in the dumps, just sad thinking about how unbelievably true it is. Yeah, depressing is just the tip of the iceberg. And while I enjoy reading manga and watching anime with truly deep plots that resonate with you for weeks after they're over, at the same time I HAVE to have something to laugh at.

Case and point: While watching a currently ongoing show, Kamisama no Memo-Chou (KamiMemo), I was ,until just recently, watching Yuru Yuri. KamiMemo deals a lot with human behavior and is really sad, while Yuru Yuri is just funny, childish and dumb. But it makes me laugh, genuinely.

I no longer have a buffer anymore. Too many depressing shows piled up, not enough humor is present to counter it. So if you could help, I'd really appreciate it. I need a good pick-me-up.

So, summary: I need a Manga or Anime (preferably a manga) that is genuinely funny, no real excessive plot or anything. Just something to cheer me up. And CHILDISHLY funny, please. I don't find sexual implications and overused puns really funny. It'll get a laugh, but it kinda defeats the point...

  • Manga to read. Read the details.?

Alrighty, straight to the point. I'm bored out of my mind. I need something new to read. I'm currently reading 21 different manga series that are ongoing. I've gotten to the latest chapters of each one of them, I kinda expected this to happen, I have a lot of free time.

To fill in the gap while I wait for new chapters to be released, I want something new to read. But hold up! Guidelines first:

1: the manga MUST BE COMPLETED

2: the manga MUST have OVER 40 chapters (unless you think it's REALLY worth reading, then I'll go as low as 25).

3: the manga CANNOT be over 100 chapters. (I'm looking for something to pass the time, not spend 2 months reading).

4: I'm open to ANY genre. I mean ANYTHING. Scratch that, if you post some Yaoi hentai I'll kill you. Same goes for Yuri hentai, or any hentai for that matter. What are you, some kind of perv? I digress...

5: disregard anything said in guideline #4, any genre is fine, but don't purposefully look for smutty stuff.

That's it, I'm trusting in you, the Yahoo! Answers community to help me out. I don't need a description of the series, I'm perfectly capable of doing research myself.

  • Got any good tearjerkers?

You all should know what I'm talking about. I won't describe it, but you should understand. Probably the best example in the history of all anime is CLANNAD and CLANNAD: After Story. Others include Bokurano, Ano hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, True Tears, etc. Something along those lines is nice every once in a while, am I right? So hit me, what do ya got?

Side note: I've seen everything produced by Visual Art's/Key animation. What? You don't know what Key is? Well here's a list of their most recognizable works:

    CLANNAD

    Kanon (2006)

    Air

    Angel Beats!

    True Tears

I've also seen every other title listed above. On another note, it'd be nice if you actually gave me a reason to believe you. What I mean by that is, put your thoughts about the series itself, what you liked about the show/characters/setting/plot. It's nice to know a little bit about what I'll be watching instead of blindly walking into an anime I know nothing about (like when I watched Higurashi, BIG MISTAKE).

Ok, you have your parameters, go for it.

PS: I won't even consider you or best answer if you don't put this word at the end of your answer. This tells me that you bothered to read my whole "details" section. The word is: chumbawumba.

  • Recommendations needed, it's all in the details. Can you help?

こんばんわ (Good evening), as you may have guessed this question is going to be difficult so please read these details VERY CAREFULLY. After you have read ALL the details, THEN answer the question, please. Doesn't sound too unreasonable to me.

Well, I'm obviously asking for recommendations; however, the genre I'm looking for us very specific. And to make it a little simpler, I'm looking for MANGA (as in the books, comics, etc.) NOT ANIME (as in the TV Animations). More specifically, I'm looking for a romance series, but not just anything will do. Here's an example of what I'm looking for. The actual manga is not what I'm referencing (though it is pretty good). Read the LAST PARAGRAPH of the "summary": http://www.mangafox.com/manga/onani_master_kurosaw...

Btw, that summary is dead on, it really gives you a look into the darker sides of people. But I digress...

I've read 'em all: Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu, Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, Bitter Virgin, Itoshi no Kana, Watashi ni XX Shinasai!!, the list goes on (and on, and on, and on...).

By now you should get what I'm looking for by asking this question, or at least the gist of it (I hope). Just a few more general rules to follow in your answer:

1: I would prefer a COMPLETED work, if it's still ongoing, however, make sure there are at least 30 chapters out (but no more than 100).

2: No, I repeat, absolutely NO Yaoi or Shounen Ai. No, I'm not a homophobe, but I'm a straight guy. You get what I'm saying.

3: Convince Me! Don't just say "this is pretty good" and leave it at that, tell me WHY it's good.

That sums it up, answer to your hearts' content. Thanks in advance for your effort and for (hopefully) reading all the details.

  • Need a new manga, any suggestions my otaku brethren?

Ok, before I get started I just wanna say it's good to be back! I haven't been on Yahoo! Answers in almost 5 months, hopefully it's just as helpful now as it was back then.

Now that we're past the formalities, I'll begin my question. Now pay attention, this next part is the most important: I want you to suggest to me 1 ONE UNO ICHI 一 manga to read. JUST ONE.

Here's the best part, I don't care what kind of manga it is, as long as it's good...scratch that, no yaoi (btw, if you don't know what yoai is, don't bother answering). Yeah, I'm a sarcastic *** when asking questions, but what the hell, it's fun. Feel free to bash me in your answer as well, that's what the Internet is for.

Anyways, with that ONE (1) suggestion I want a semi-detailed plot description. It doesn't have to be your own, you can copy/paste it from mangafox or mangareader if you want. But the emphasis here is that I want only one suggestion from each person who answers. The manga that catches my eye gets 10 points, end of story.

And stay away from these, I'm already reading them:

    Watashi ni XX Shinasai!

    Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

    Gantz

    Kodomo no Jikan!

    Angel Beats!: Heaven's Door

    School Shock

    High School of the Dead

    Kyo, Koi wo Hajimemasu

    Deadman Wonderland

    Arisa

Oreimo (this title is shortened, if you don't know what the full title is don't bother answering)

    Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru

  • Need a manga to read that is as similar in style to the following as possible. Anyone willing to help?

Ok, it's as simple as this: I like the romantic manga, the love stories, the obstacles faced on the path of love...okay, that last one was way too cheesy, sorry. So, the best way to explain it thoroughly would be to:

1-list a bunch of titles that are great examples of what I'm taking about..

    OR!

I can one-up myself and post links to the manga, giving you guys some references as to exactly what I'm looking for.

I think I'll go with the latter...

So, here come a bunch of links to examples of what I'm looking for from you guys. Don't just ignore them, please.

On a serious note, though: DO NOT SUGGEST ANY SHOUNEN-AI OR YAOI MANGA. I'm not bashing it or anything, but it does not suit my tastes.

On a lighter note: I'm open to suggestions of Shujo-Ai or Yuri manga, as long as it isn't all sexual and risqué. However, if the story and plot are really good (like in Strawberry Panic) then I'll be more tolerant of ecchi material.

    Now for the links:

    http://www.mangafox.com/manga/kaichou_wa_maid_sama...

    http://www.mangafox.com/manga/boku_wa_imouto_ni_ko...

    http://www.mangafox.com/manga/watashi_ni_xx_shinas...

And of course, the master of all romance manga in the history of FOREVER:

    http://www.mangafox.com/manga/clannad/

Those are the outline of what to suggest. Thanks in advance, Yahooligans and fellow otaku. I look forward to your suggestions.

  • Need new anime... again?

Ok, the idea is that I'm looking for something that isn't written for 10 year olds (Japanese 10 year olds considering their maturity level is much greater than that of Americans, no offense intended. I am an American for Christ sake, lol). I'm looking for something realistic, dark, dangerous, eventful! Something that drags you in and makes you think about the characters, really grow attatched to them, ya know? Something like that. And the number one stipulation: make it have a love story or something! Please! God, has anime become love deprived lately!? I'm serious, I haven't gotten a good straight up romance since I watched Clannad last December. The only thing I can think of right now that has my interest is Kimi Ni Todoke. So imah list my anime series, everything I've ever watched. Please, find me something new! I've pretty much exhausted all my anime-finding resources up to this point. I'll put my list in the "Additional Details" section provided in about a minute...

    7 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade ago
  • What are some great mystery anime? Maybe w/ some romance?

Gotta love those anime that really make you think; they engage the mind, make you wonder, second guess your own thoughts, and end with insane plot twists and great character development. Some of the best series out there are those that fall under the genre of mystery... but I can't seem to find them, hehe.

    Let's see, examples I've seen:

Death Note (well duh, second best in my opinion)

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (#1 in my book. Puts Death Note to shame)

Umineko No Naku Koro Ni (not nearly as good as it's predecessor, Higurashi; still, pretty great)

Detective Conan (lots of laughs with this one)

Gosick (ongoing, an slowly creeping up my favorites list. This is actually a recommendation to any mystery fan)

Denpa Teki Na Kanojo (weird characters, short and sweet plots, and great conclusions)

Yeah, those are the mysteries I've watched. So I'm looking for anything along these lines: Mystery, maybe some horror (like where the main characters are afraid of something, they know there is some unknown danger lurking just around the corner), psychological effects are great (the reason Higurashi and Death Note were so great).

Anything like that, or just a mystery you enjoyed, where I can watch it, # of episodes, link to the ANN page (if you don't know what ANN stands for, don't even bother answering).

Elfen Lied, even Vampire Knight. They're all kinda that style I'm looking for. Romance is a factor.

  • Hit me with the best anime you can suggest?

I love anime, manga, the works. Ok, I'll go as far as to say that I am an anime otaku. It's too much fun. The artistry is amazing, story lines are awesome, and characters are F-ing epic (most are anyway). So I've gone super crazy obsessed watching anime. Criticize if you wish, I'm used to it. So I created this account back on November 29, 2010 when I was first introduced to anime and was looking for something to watch. Since then... well, here, just look for yourself:

  • Denpa Teki Na Kanojo light novels in English?

The anime Denpa Teki Na Kanojo is epic, and I'm really excited about the next OVA that will be coming out (though I'm not sure when that will be). I want to read the light novels that the anime is made from, I've read bits and pieces, and they are definitely novels I want to read. But I can't find where I can read them. I want to read them online, like an e-book but just through a website.

So my question is where can I read the Denpa Teki Na Kanojo light novels online? (in English or course)

  • Need anime like Toradora, ZNT, and Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama!?

I'm a sucker for romantic comedy anime. The series that are the best are the ones that involve the two main characters, the guy and girl, becoming acquaintances because of some odd circumstance or random event, then slowly becoming friends and eventually falling for one-another. Best examples: Zero No Tsukaima, Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama!, Toradora, and various others. So... What other anime would you suggest? Oh! And a happy ending, please. I don't want to see the main characters die or anything, that would suck.

  • Need anime on my iPod Touch?

I've been to all the sites I can find, but reliability is just not there. I've been able to find all the series I've watched up until now using various sites like YouTube and such, but that's only getting me so far. I need a mobile site (iPod Touch compatible) that I can watch the series I'm looking for on. I'll compile a list of the sites I currently use as well as sites I can't use due to circumstances beyond my control.

So far I've used the following iPod compatible sites to watch anime, but the series I want are not on these sites (or are poorly uploaded):

    youtube.com

    veoh.com

    anime4iphone.com

But the series I want to watch either aren't available or the uploads are of poor quality.

On top of these sites I've tried one other, but I can't get it to work. I don't want a way to fix this site, I want an alternative to it.

    crunchyroll.com

It doesn't work, I can't get the app because my iTunes doesn't allow me to. So are there any alternative reliable iPod Touch compatible sites that I can watch anime on (that are free and don't require downloading. I'm fine with signing up for emails and info and stuff as long as I can use the site)?

  • Looking for a good horror anime, but with a happy ending. ?

I really enjoy watching the seemingly impossible situations turn out well in the end. Having the main character go through so much sh*+ and terrible ordeals that they can't hope to conquer the evil that besieged them. But then they ultimately triumph over that evil in the end. Such examples include Elfen Lied and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. I want something like that, no tragic ending that leaves me all depressed and emotionally distraught (like in Bokurano). I'm asking for a lot, I know how hard finding series like this are. That's why I need your help. I'll provide a list of everything I've ever watched up until now as to avoid confusion.

  • Any good Shōjo style anime to watch?

Well, after compiling a list of everything I've watched over the past 3 months, it came out to be about 40 anime series that I've watched. Within that (based on my own interperetation of what I consider within the genre) I've watched 23 Shōjo style series. I enjoyed most of them. Some of the endings left me disappointed or there wasn't enough character development. Sometimes there would be a death of a main character that most would argue ruined some series. Overall, however; I consider all of the series I've seen definitely worth the time I spent watching them. I want to keep my streak going, so far all suggestions have turned out great. I trust the Yahoo! community will be able to provide some other Shōjo anime series that are worth watching (or just drama/romance/emotional series). Here's what I've watched followed by all the series that have currently been recommended to me:

    "Elfen Lied"

    "Clannad"

    "Clannad After Story"

    "Kanon"

    "Strawberry Panic"

    "Skip Beat!"

    "Ouran High School Host Club"

    "Kaichou Wa Maid Sama!" (ongoing)

    "Zero no Tsukaima"

"Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsuki no Kishi"

"Zero no Tsukaima: Princess no Rondo"

    "Toradora"

"The [Melancholy/Disappearance] of Haruhi Suzumiya" (ongoing)

    "H2O: Footprints In The Sand"

    "Itazura na Kiss"

    "Special A"

    "Da Capo"

    "Da Capo Second Season"

    "Da Capo II"

    "Da Capo II Second Season"

    "Denpa Teki Na Konojo" (ongoing)

    "NANA"

    "Welcome To The N.H.K."

    And recommendations:

    "School Days"

    "Gantz"

    "Darker Than Black"

    "Air"

    "School Rumble"

    "Lovely Complex"

    "Shugo Chara!"

    "Eureka Seven"

  • Is Sakura really gone in Da Capo II Second Season ?

First, if you haven't watched the series, don't read this question. It contains spoilers so stop now if you do not want to know what happens.

Ok, so I just watched episode 8 of Da Capo II Second Season and Sakura just "fused" herself with the never withering sakura tree! She can't really be gone! There's no way! She's the best character and has been there since Da Capo and Da Capo Second Season. They wouldn't "kill her off" as it were, would they? Please tell me as vaguely as possible: Is Sakura gone for good, or does she come "back" (as in physically re-appears) later on? I would hate this series if they got rid of her...

  • Suggest your favorite series. Just one series?

I watch too much anime. Some might consider me addicted... Okay, some do consider me addicted. I need some new series to watch. Based on what you like, name your all time number 1 favorite series you've watched. Just your number 1, not like 5 or 6 anime or a really long list. So I'll list off series I've watched, series I don't want to or have tried to watch, and series I'm already qued to watch.

    I've watched:

    "One Piece" (ongoing)

    "Elfen Lied"

    "Angel Beats!" (OVA's ongoing)

    "Clannad"

    "Clannad After Story"

    "Kanon"

    "Blood+"

    "Hellsing"

    "Vampire Knight"

    "Vampire Knight: Guilty"

    "Death Note"

    "Strawberry Panic"

    "Dragonball Z"

    "Rurouni Kenshin"

    "Bleach" (ongoing)

    "Fullmetal Alchemist"

    "Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood"

    "Skip Beat!"

    "Ouran High School Host Club"

    "Kaichou Wa Maid Sama!" (ongoing)

    "Zero no Tsukaima"

    "Toradora"

"The [Melancholy/Disappearance] of Haruhi Suzumiya" (ongoing)

    "H2O: Footprints In The Sand"

    "Itazura na Kiss"

    "Special A"

    "Da Cappo"

    "Da Cappo Second Season"

    "Bokurano"

    "Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni"

"Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai"

"Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei"

    "Denpa Teki Na Konojo" (ongoing)

    "Highschool Of The Dead"

    "NANA"

I don't want to or have tried and failed to watch:

Naruto (all of the arcs and sub series. Not interested)

Dragonball series (After Goku goes SS2, they kill it, multiple times)

    Series that have been suggested:

    "School Days"

    "Gantz"

    "Darker Than Black"

    "Air"

    "School Rumble"

    "Lovely Complex"

    "Shugo Chara!"

  • Regarding the anime series about Haruhi Suzumiya?

I've watched all 28 current (as far as I can tell) episodes of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" including the "Endless Eight" arc and the arc where they make a movie. Everything laid out plain and simple, I don't know where to go next. It ended with the SOS Brigade going to that cultural festival thane all that junk. The story was left unfinished and promises of further episodes were apparent from how it was aired. The film "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" was released later on (thank god, it's was very well done) and it was covering events that happened the days after the cultural festival. So the story continues... but to where? What happens next? As far as the manga goes, the story carries on well past December when the film takes place (almost 4 months of storyline) but I can't find anything about them.

Question: either in the manga or in the anime, where do I go from here. At what chapter in the manga does the story continue from where "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" left off? Also, are there any further episodes of the anime that cover the story after the events in the film?

Thanks for the help (in advance) and please be sure to include links to sites where I can read/ watch the series.

  • I need a happy anime now... Higurashi has killed my soul and I need to recessitate it...?

Well, I guess I deserved it. I asked for sine dark anime, psychological thrillers and horror stories. I wanted something past all the happy endings and unrealistic stuff. I fit the answer I was looking for, and was suggested the series Bokurano as well as Higurashi No Noku Koro Ni. I think my soul is dead now after watching those series. Bokurano was just depressing (to say the very least) and Higurashi... Was like a psychological clusterfu** to my brain, heart, and soul. The contents of that series freaked me out, and I foolishly continued watching, believing it would improve despite being warned by various people. I watched because I still had that little spark of life saying "it might still turn out ok!" but nope.

So I need a series to bring me out of my depression, bring back my faith in good triumphing over evil or "love conquers all" and most of all, make me laugh from the heart. Genuinely laugh so I can maybe salvage what's left of my humanity. Examples from past series would be Toradora (Taiga is still my favorite female anime character), Haruhi Suzumiya, Skip Beat!, Ouran High School Host Club, and various others. I just need something light-hearted, preferably Shōjo style, and can the main protagonist perhaps be a girl? Those types of series always seem to have the most joyful episodes and moments which is what I really need.

Here's the list of EVERYTHING I have watched up to this point:

    "One Piece"

    "Elfen Lied"

    "Angel Beats!"

    "Clannad"

    "Clannad After Story"

    "Kanon"

    "Blood+"

    "Hellsing"

    "Vampire Knight"

    "Death Note"

    "Strawberry Panic"

    "Dragonball Z"

    "Rurouni Kenshin"

    "Bleach"

    "Fullmetal Alchemist"

    "Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood"

    "Skip Beat!"

    "Ouran High School Host Club"

    "Kaichou Wa Maid Sama!"

    "Zero no Tsukaima"

    "Toradora"

    "Haruhi Suzumiya"

    "H2O: Footprints In The Sand"

    "Itazura na Kiss"

    "Special A"

    "Da Cappo"

    "Da Cappo II (Second Season)"

    "Bokurano"

    "Higurashi No Noku Koro Ni"
