What is your impression of this poem, 'Night-mare'?
Sound of thunder
That surges violent storm of wakefulness
And will flatten our frowning bedsheets
Of stringent terror seizing sinews
Neath her bounding of silvered heels.
Lightning will lay scorch as it travels
Bolt through bracket bones of bare flesh
That hovers amassed in silhouette stature
Like blackened skins of clouds so lofty.
O’ lumbering lady of mirth, now eclipsed
Take the groaning bitter of darkness
And saddle now its poignant promise
Of broken dawns we’d yearn to see
Cast recall of dreams you mounted
Failures flung from whithers so steep
Thrones of kings brought crashing at her feet
Buckling at her fetlocked mercies
And of blissful hopes now trampled
Soft memory blown through her muzzle
To breath of howling storm, exhaled
From blackened belly nursing your dreams.
Lady of moon and macabre misgiving
Will thunder in nightly swarm as you sleep
And spine of bounding mane, entangled
Stabbing fears deep into psyche
Will lace regret through formless memory
Of the rider you once knew.

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf not R&S, what other section would you patrononize?
R&S hasn't changed a bit. same old silly story every day: theist against atheist, theist against theist, atheist against themselves...everyone taking chunks out of each other. You may or may not agree, but in my prspective R&S is the least productive section of Y/A. if not R&S, where else would you be? Health is my personal favorite- and that's my field. Philosophy is beautiful for those of us who really wish to share thoughts and ideas. Even poetry, i find gently refreshing. Do you ever get tired of the ramlings on R&S, and if so where else do you go?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen she sat you down and told you she's a lesbian?
Did you genuinly ask why, or even attempt to understant? Or did you simply cast your own quick judgments of what she's become and how you think it happened?
Really, for those of you who personally know someone is homosexual - did you ever seek to understand why they are the way they are? A friend of mine who was previously heterosexual recently chose the path of lesbianism, after years of putting up with her (sexually) abusive father. when asked why, she explained that she simply couldn't stand to ever live with a man in her life again. she's pretty much adapted by becoming quite masculine by dress and behaviour. if i hadn't asked, i would never have known how intricate and complex her circumstances were.
For those who know lesbians/homosexual men - have you asked yet?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoNear death and near life?
In your opinion, have you ever had a "near death" experience? if so, what was the circumstance? Do you think it actually brought you closer to life? In other words...was there a particular life lesson you learned/gained from your experience that helped you to grow into the person you are today? Thanks for sharing.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoExpect the unexpected?
When someone tells you to expect the unexpected, they're actually telling you to expect change...since change is what you can be sure of. it's constant (apparently). there's a saying that goes "blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed". nothing, then, is equal to change, since nothing changes. nothing is constant. to expect nothing, then, is to expect change.
Do you agree? (Interpret freely)

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoExactly what criteria does Y/A use in defining someone as "Top Contributor"?
"A top contributor is someone who is knowledgeable in a particular category". So when someone gets Top Contributor status in R&S, does it necessarily indicate their vast and complex knowledge in Religion and spiritual aspects? Or does it simply mean they've been spending a hell of a lot of time babbling in this section?

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes anyone read the community guidelines?
Seriously, do you take time to read the community guidelines? I posted a question here about 6 days ago entitled "Get all your answers right here?". i was talking about the fact that R & S is one of teh most active sections on Y! Answers and due to the rediculously slow turnover rate of questions in other sections, i may as well ask my general questions right here. My question was removed and i received an e-mail stating that i was in violation of community guidelines.
I admit that i really never took the time to fully read the community guidelines, but i just want to know if anyone else here may have had questions removed for the same reason. do you think these guidelines are a little too strict, especially for a section like R & S where people post every and any kind of question?
And which of you actually reads the guidelines in any case?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould there be a warning?
I've seen a lot of people come here on R & S for the first time, innocently asking very serious questions pertaining to serious problems they have, and innocently expecting to get serious answers here. i feel sorry for many of these people because much to their shock and horror, they reap a bunch of answers that are nothing but jokes and rants, and are sometimes quite insulting. i mean. for the regulars here on R & S, we have grown to accept and expect this sort of loose behavior when we come here on R & S, but for the newbie who really expects to get their serious questions answered, do you think some sort of warning should be attached to this section to make them aware of what to expect? i know that they should expect highly opinionated answers since this is an open forum and anyone can answer, but the fact is...most of them expect to get a serious answer.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoResearch on R & S therapy for IBS?
Hi...
As a Year 2 pharmacy student, i am presently conducting research on R & S as a proposed social drug in first line therapy for treatment of IBS (Irritable Boredom Syndrome). Please assist me in gathering info for my research, by telling me if you personally think that R & S is a good remedy for boredom. If "yes", then please indicate whether your daily dose of R & S has also assisted in alleviating other problems in your life (such as stress, anxiety etc.) Thank you! :)
