  • Overwhelming sense of failure?

    About twice a year I feel an incredible sense that I am a complete failure at everything. I have grown accustomed to handling this by staring blankly at something all day or some other mundane task that does not require any enthusiasm.

    But the fact is I know that I am not a failure. I have a beautiful wife, 2 great kids, and a very profitable small business that makes people happy. I have achieved notoriety worldwide for my work and have be in every type of media for it. Normally I am a very happy man who wakes up thrilled about every day.

    That's why I wonder about these depressing times. Is this some sort of deficit I am making up or what?

    Any advice?

  • My gal is stressed and depressed. What can I do?

    My fiancé recently had her second child and is going through whati assume is postpartum depression. After the birth she immediately began to diet restricting her intake to little more then protine shakes and nutrient bars. I feel that the sudden change in diet along with the drastic cut in carbs is affecting her mood and self image.

    She also has to move 400 miles away to begin school and work. During this time the baby will be sent to her mother across the country. She has a full school schedule and plans to also work full time while supporting her toddler. I would love to move as well but I have certain obligations to my own education.

    I don't really see a solution. If she comes to a point where it all feels like it is to much I can't be there to support and help. it is a helplessness that I wish I was more prepared for.

    What can I do for her. We talk and talk but when it comes down to it that's all I can think to do. Just words.

  • In a relationship with a teenage mother?

    Ive been with this gall for the last 7 months. We are very close and I love spending time with her. We are both 20 but she already has a 3 year old daughter who I love to death. I found out a while back that she was pregnant since before we were together with another mans kid but he wants nothing to do with her and wont man up. I told her that I still loved her and that I still wanted to be with her.

    We have been talking about marriage a lot. We want to have this family together and add a few more.She is moving and I am continuing school here so we will be a little apart for a couple months but I intend on visiting often. In this time frame we always got married after I moved to where she was and about a year after that. Good plan. Lots of time to get a nice solid footing.

    Well the baby is almost here and I told her I would raise it as a father. She tells me she wants to put my name on the birth certificate. Woah. Thats almost the same as getting married. It would mean that I am with this child and her forever with rocky foundations on both of our parts. She will be far away and I will be educating myself. not exactly how I wanted to start a life with someone.

    What do I say? Do I tell her no and that I want to be married first? Is it possible to add your name to a birth certificate later? Just give me general advice for this situation.

  • What should be the next move?

    Will try to keep this short and sweet.

    I'm 20. Know a girl she's almost 20. Hang out together a lot. Movies, lunch, watching her daughter. We both really enjoy each others company. You all know this blah blah blah.

    Would really like to be considered more then a friend and peruse a relationship. I ask her where this all is going last night and she is surprised (I did ask out of nowhere). I tell her to think about it and I drive off. Get a message later saying she really likes me. I tell her I really like her too.

    So everything seems on the up and up but where do I go from here? Just ask her if she wants to be my girlfriend. Is there a more elegant way of putting it? Basically what should the next move be?

  • Tricky insurance claim?

    Hope some people actually read this. Could really use the advice.

    Short story is that a guy backed into me in a parking lot and now has gotten insurance involved. Sounds simple but it is a bit stickier then that.

    Im on a date with this girl and take her to the store to pick up something to eat. In the checkout behind us is a young guy with some beer. As we pick up the bags he gets carded and says he has no ID on him. Whatever we leave.

    In the parking lot we hop in the car and start it up planning on going into another shop across the parking lot. Back up lights shine in front of us as a car is pulling back out of his space. I wait and see brake lights and that his car has stopped. His car is now facing left to me and my car is turned to go right. I begin to move out and get about 3 feet out of my space when suddenly i notice that he has begun to back up again. I hit the brakes and he continues into me.

    The cops are contacted and one is dispatched. Turns out the other driver was the guy without an ID. He also does not have any proof of insurance. He seems keen on not involving insurance but I keep my mouth shut. My date has left the cold night to proceed into the small coffee shop and I told the cop this. He did not seem to mind. No one reports any injures. We each get a little sheet with all the info and we are on our way.

    I look at the damage of my car and wonder if it is even worth reporting. The other fellow was less then reputable and in all likely hood we would be paying 50/50. Not worth my premiums going up but I will wait for the police report.

    I get a call today from my insurance that says I have a claim filed against me for damages and an injury. Looks like he wanted to get the ball rolling and even tacked on an injury for some reason.

    So how does this look? When this is all said and done should I be found at fault? A driver without ID or proof of insurance technically hits me while backing up. My car received considerable more damage then his. And also a strange note, the cop did not reprimand him for driving without any form of identification.

  • Sneaking into a 3D movie?

    So I kind of want to see Star Wars in 3D. I know that in all likelihood I will not enjoy it but I have my reasons. I don't want to play the blown up price 3D entails. I have 3D glasses so does anyone have tips on paying for a cheaper film and sneaking into the 3D one?

  • I need advice for selling on ebay?

    I have recently came into a rather large collection of vintage legos and want to sell it off. The previous owner separated everything by color into about 14 Converse sized boxes. The deal also included the original boxes and instructions from the early 80s. What would be the best way to move these. Part it out into individual tubs or just sell the lot?

  • What is this dance style?

    You say a lot of it from Dick Van Dike. It is almost a quick step but also features lots of turning. You can see him showing it during the penguin dance in Mary Poppins.

  • Suicide question. Please help?

    I was just wondering. If you were completely suicidal with no family connections to worry about and no will to live what would you do.

    I personally would become the most coldhearted guy in the world. I would seek out a larger criminal organization and quickly rise to the top due to my lack of fear. Assassinate people with not a worry about the repercussions.

    How about you?

  • What is going on with me? Please help.?

    So a couple hours ago I started getting really twitchy and energetic. I was full of this euphoria and was going a mile a minute. i got up from my chair and started dancing wildly around to no music for a half hour straight. My mother began to worry and even threatened a drug test. She said I was satrting to scare her. To make her feel more comfortable I went to my room and cleaned a solid 3 hour mess in under a half hour running around like a madman. It is about 2 hours later and I am starting to cool down but my legs are still bouncing like crazy.

    What happened? I really did not have any sugar and it seemed to be just a sudden high.

  • Looking for a financial ipod app?

    Basically I want to insert how much money I have in the bank and then track my transactions over time. If I take money out I enter that in. If I make money I put it in and I am able to see in some sort of graph where I am compared to where I was.

  • What is going to happen in Japan?

    Here is how I see it.

    Earthquake = Tsunami

    Tsunami = Flood

    Flood = Nuclear Meltdown

    Nuclear Meltdown + Lizard = Godzilla!

    Could this be possible?

  • United States helping in Japan?

    As you know there was an earthquake and tsunami in Japan and like with most natural disasters The good ol US of A hops up and runs to help. Now let me ask is it really our place to help? We are currently in a huge recession and fighting a war. We don't exactly have cast to throw at other countrys problems. Sure you might say that by doing this for others they may help us when we need it but I do not think that is so. Consider Katrina. Did tons of damage but I did not see the world scrambling to help us out.

    You have a disaster well then I am sorry for you. We have our own messes to clean up. I like to think of us as a child who would rather clean anything but their own room.

    Am I right in saying all this. Should we just stay in our own yard?

  • Question about autotopia at Disney land?

    Why dont they redo that ride to the theme of Cars? Right next to it they retrofitted the subs for Finding Nemo why not the cars. Obvious.

    Also the old shut down gondola house could be changed into the house from UP. You would leave the old mans house in a Gondola that looked like a basket with some balloons holding you up.

    What do you think of these ideas?
