  • Too big to ride Millenium Force and Dragster at Cedar Point?

My boyfriend and I are going to Cedar Point at the end of the month. I have been there several times before but he has only been once. I've heard that MF and TTD are problems for larger people because of the seatbelts.

My boyfriend is 5'11 and weighs about 250. He wears a size 38 pants and his weight is pretty much evenly distibuted. He has lost a ton of weight in the past year and we have really been looking forward to going to CP for months. Is there anyone similar size who could get on these rides? Was it a problem? Thanks!

  • What size shirt would someone this size wear?

So I want to get a gift for a friend; either a jersey, or a shirt. I'm not sure which yet. Anyways, I don't want to ask him what size he is because I don't want him to think I'm getting him something.

He's a pretty big guy... 6'0 and about 280. So I'm looking for people who are that size or know someone that size and could tell me what you think I should get him.

As far as shirts XL? XXL? Jerseys 52? 54?

    Thanks! :)

  • Online 'satellite' tv?

I'm just looking around at these services and can't find any legitimate reviews. I can't find a single channel list of any variety. The list I've found keepers growing, I've found SatellitePCBox.com, isoftwaretv.com, youfreetelevision.com and more.

My question is, has anyone actually tried any of these out? If so what sort of channels did they have? Was it a bunch of different ABCs, NBCs, or FOX channels, if so it could be a cheap way to watch my favorite out of market sports games. (Go Steelers) Do they have some of the bigger cable networks

  • Is this an appropriate outfit for a teaching interview?

So this is basically what I'm planning on wearing to an interview for a 1st grade position. However, I am going to wear a peach colored button down shirt with a collar underneath the jacket.

I have been told by many principals that you need to dress to impress and a suit is a good idea. Do you think that this is a good choice? The skirt and jacket are exactly what I have.

    Thanks!

  • Another reason for the spotting other than implantation bleeding?

So I had sex ONE time WITH a condom 14 days ago... Unfortunately I think it was right around when I was ovulating. My fiance and I are always very careful and we used the condom the whole time correctly. It did not break.

I should be getting my period really soon.. and about 3 days ago I started spotting. At first I had one drop that was a pinkish color.. and then it turned to brown. It was VERY light... hardly any at all. I have been really gassy and have been having pains that I don't think are cramps. I also have had really bad lower back pains and have felt kind of lightheaded... I know that all of these could be symptoms of early pregnancy... so I'm really worried. I have been really stressed out the last week worrying about it. We have been together for 5 years and we are always really careful and nothing like this has ever happened before.

Is there any other reason I may be spotting like this so close to my period? I just can't believe I could be pregnant after one time using protection correctly and carefully. I know there is always a chance.. but it is such a small one, I'm hoping something else is causing this!

If this helps.. I also just recently got of birth control 3 months ago, but all of my periods since then have been normal.

What do you think is going on? Thanks!

  • Does it sound like I'm pregnant? No one is answering me!?

And please don't tell me to just take a pregnancy test. If I do in fact miss my period, that is the first thing I will be doing. I would just like to hear if you have had a similar experience and what you think.

  • What are the chances I'm pregnant?

I have had sex a total of 2 times since my last period. Both times were very close, if not while I was ovulating.

However, both times we used a condom perfectly. It did not leak or break at all. What are the chances I'm pregnant? I should be getting my period in a couple of days but I am already experiencing some very light spotting.

Obviously if I miss my period I will take a test.. I just want to know what are the odds I am actually pregnant.

  • Do you think I could be pregnant?

So I know that this is probably a long shot, but I am worried because I have never been pregnant before.

Since my last period (about 2 weeks ago) I have had sex 2 times both times with a condom.

A few days ago I was diagnosed with a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) and have been treating it with an antibiotic called Bactrim. In the the past 2 days I have had severe bloating and some constipation. My stomach feels huge and kind of hard. I have never had any of this before. I have read that both UTIs and bloating/constipation can be early signs of pregnancy.

If you have had Bactrim before did you ever experience bloating as a side affect? I don't know why I am so worried... maybe I am worrying myself to feel like I am pregnant when I know I am probably not. I have also heard that you can get your period while pregnant sometimes.. so maybe I have been for a bit?

Do you think I could be? I really do want to have kids some day, but not now! Thanks!

  • Strange noise coming from the back of my Saturn?

I own a 1994 Saturn. Every time I gradually come to a stop and sometimes when I accelerate from a stop, there is a really weird noise that sounds like it is coming from the back of the car. It sounds almost as if I am dragging something (but I am not). It is not a rattling noise or a squeak, but it is pretty loud.

Any ideas what it could be? And do you think it is safe to drive for a couple of days until I can take it in?

    Thanks

  • Was sending an email to the principal a good idea?

I am in the process of applying for teaching jobs. Most of them have online applications. Some even have you attach all of your files (resumes, transcripts, everything... ) online.

I want to go in and personally meet the principals and hand them some things, so I sent two principals emails requesting a time that would be good for me to come in and introduce myself. (I would also bring them hard copies of some documents.) Do you think this was a good idea? Or should I have just gone in and asked the secretary to speak with the principal?

Also, how long should I wait for a response? If they don't respond should I just go in anyways.. or mail them my materials?

I have never done this before so I am kind of nervous. Thanks for any advice you can give me. :)

  • Could you proofread this for me?

An outstanding teacher is one who puts the students’ needs first. Students want to know that they are cared for and respected. I made the effort to get to know each of my student’s personalities, hobbies, and interests during my student teaching experience. I created an environment of warmth and acceptance, and the students knew that they could come to me for support.

An outstanding teacher also needs to be a consumer of knowledge. A teacher should know the subject material and always be searching for new methods and ideas to use. If a teacher does not know the material, he/she can not teach it. However, simply knowing the material does not make you an outstanding teacher. Teachers need to be able to engage students by developing creative and stimulating lesson plans. One of my greatest strengths as a teacher is being able to motivate students. My goal is to keep the students actively engaged by incorporating the use of technology and a variety of manipulatives and active learning listening strategies into each lesson.

A final quality of an outstanding teacher is being able to reflect. Not every lesson is going to go perfectly. There's always something you could have done better and room for improvement. At the end of each day during my student teaching experience, I would reflect on my teaching and record what worked well and ideas for future improvement.

  • Could you proofread this for me?

I want to be a teacher because I want to make a difference in the lives of others. I have always enjoyed working with children and helping them learn. I want help children find a way to make sense of something, learn how to think critically, and learn how to write and speak and provide reasons for their beliefs.

The classroom is such a huge part of kids’ lives. It's where they make new friends and learn things about themselves. I didn't know then, but my experiences in elementary school played a huge role in who I am today. Often, a teacher is the only positive role model in a child’s life, and it is important for all teachers to set a good example and be a good role model for that child.

I bring so much energy into the classroom, and I hope to share my passion and love for teaching in your school district. To touch a child's life and influence their learning gives me great satisfaction. I truly believe that teaching is the best profession on earth. After one semester of teaching, I no longer call teaching my job, but my privilege.

  • What did you think of the song choices tonight on American Idol?

I thought they were awful! Especially for the finale. I thought Adam and Kris both did best on their first songs (the ones they were allowed to pick).

I don't mind Kara, but that last song was awful! It sounded like a teeny bopper Aaron Carter song. I think it was a bad song for both Adam and Kris. I was really disappointed. Neither one of them got to show off their talents.

  • Danny Gokey fans... who will you vote for in the finale?

Sine Danny was eliminated tonight, who will you vote for in the finale? Adam or Kris?

Just wondering where his votes are going to go! :)

  • Could you proofread this? Last one!?

The primary role of a teacher is to facilitate learning and to foster a desire for life-long learning in students. A teacher should understand how their students can learn best and be flexible with their approaches to ensure maximum learning takes place. A teacher must also be prepared to change their approaches to suit the individual needs of their students. Students want to know that they are cared for and respected. I made the effort to get to know each of my student’s personalities, strengths, and interests during my student teaching experience. I created an environment of warmth and acceptance, and the students knew that they could come to me for support.

A teacher should also be a motivator and create a classroom where all of the students are excited about what is happening. This is especially important at the elementary level. While some students love to learn, others are not inherently interested in learning. It is the teacher’s responsibility to make sure his/her students are motivated to learn and value what they are learning and doing.

    Any errors? Thanks
