  • Birth control, migraines and stroke risk?

I seem to be in a paradox, here.

I have a rare type of migraine that increases my risk for stroke.

Birth control pills increase my risk for stroke.

But it's the birth control pills that have stopped the migraines.

So...either way, I would have one of those factors increasing my risk. What would be the best course of action, strictly in regards to stroke risk?

Note: I am making a Dr. appointment Monday.

  • Question about grieving?

Someone I love died very unexpectedly this past June. For about two months, I was very depressed, had no appetite, was not sleeping well - but recently I've been feeling more like my usual self, and I was happy about that. Today, however, I was a complete mess - crying about nothing, being upset with everyone around, etc. It felt like a huge step backward.

My question is - especially to those who have lost loved ones, too - will these periodic "bad days" always haunt me?

  • Servers - is this normal?

At the restaurant I work at, there are two servers at night (4pm-9pm). We each are responsible for 12 tables, and also much bus the tables, bartend, do our dishes and answer the phone for delivery orders.

Last night from 7-8, for example, I had 7 tables, three to-go orders to do, and 10 phone call deliveries to take - ALL in the same hour.

When I have to spend time away from my tables, their experience suffers. Is it normal for a server to have to do all of these jobs at once? Are there restaurants where they just focus on their tables?

  • Re-asking, can I bring a lot of grapes onto a plane?

Can I bring a large quantity of grapes (scuppernongs to be exact) on the plane? I need to pack about 30 lbs.

Does the TSA consider grapes "liquid?"

    Carry on or checked?

(the flight is from Louisiana to Arizona).

To the previous answerer saying I can't bring fruit into Arizona, this is incorrect.

  • Replacing CV Axle in Hyundai - cost difference?

One place is quoting me $250, another is quoting me $420. Why is there such a difference in cost to do the same repair?

  • Are trees falling on roof ever deadly?

Hi there, I'm used to living in a desert so my now-home in a forest setting is new to me.

There are 40-50mph winds tonight and there are TALL trees around me. I'm talking, at least 50-ft trees. HUGE trees. The soil is wet from days of rain.

Could wind blow down those big trees? And if so, if one fell on my house, could I be hurt or killed - or would the roof "save me" from the impact?

    Thanks.

  • How did Congress try to block Obamacare?

I am writing a paper, and I've done much searching on this topic. But all that I am finding is how easy it was for Obamacare to be signed into law, since the democrats controlled everything. It seems like Congress couldn't do anything to stop it.

My paper prompt wants to know the "hurdles" Obamacare had to jump over to be signed into law. Any ideas or links or help?

  • Question about my rental lease?

    This is what it says:

"Clause 4. Term of the Tenancy.

The term of the rental will begin on Oct 11, 2014, and end on to be determined (estimate May). If Tenant vacates before the term ends, Tenant will be liable for the balance of the rent for the remainder of the term."

Because it says "to be determined (estimate May)", does this mean that I can leave at any time, and not be held liable?

  • My physical therapist puts TENS on my neck - is this safe?

I recently read that you shouldn't put the electrode patches on the sides of your neck because this is where the carotid arteries are. Should I tell him to stop? Has any damage been done?

  • How does Safeway know what I buy at other stores?

It's creepy. I have no shopped at Safeway in awhile but have an account there. Their online, "personalized deals" always include what I have JUST bought at Walmart. For instance, I bought a loaf of bread and Progresso soup and a bag of potatoes. The next day, there were online, "just 4 u" coupons for those three EXACT things.

Are they tracking my Visa? There is no other explanation.

  • No Country for Old Men Q?

I know this is probably a really simple answer, but I just can't figure it out...

What is Llewelyn planning to do after his wife leaves town? Why didn't he just go with her? Why does he run around and end up in Mexico?

  • Bottle feeding a kitten and dental problems?

I am a foster, so I bottle feed a lot of baby kittens. One of the babies I have now never had the chance to nurse, since his mother died upon his birth. He is 6 months old now, had been bottle fed until 2 months old, and has the habit of sucking on my hand at night.

Could this lead to dental problems? I have noticed him rubbing his jaw lately, usually right after he sucks my hand. How can I wean him off this behavior, and can it cause any permanent damage?

  • What if you commit suicide IN heaven?

Do we have free will in heaven?

If we do, then wouldn't we be able to kill ourselves in heaven?

Or would we just be body-less minds, forever trapped there?

  • Anorexic or something else?

Lately more than a few of my family/friends have made comments about how I look really thin, have I lost weight, and are urging me to eat more, questioning why I'm not eating, etc.

But I don't think I have an eating disorder, I think they're just worrying too much. My bones do stick out a little bit, but not to where it's noticeable under clothes. I eat something at least once a day (i extremely dislike eating due to past stomach issues related to IBS). I never vomit or use laxatives.

I guess their biggest concern is that I very rarely eat, and will almost never eat a regular sized meal. But it isn't because I want to lose weight, it's because of my dislike of eating. So, as an outsider, what do you think? Are they right and have cause to worry and suggest I have an eating disorder?

  • I am having surgery - what to do with my foster kittens?

I foster kittens for a local rescue, and have a litter that are five-six weeks old at the moment. I just learned last week that I will be having surgery next Tuesday morning (last minute scheduling on the hospital's part) and not be able to go back home until Wednesday afternoon. The kittens are starting to eat food on their own, but still need bottles a few times a day.

Do you think the rescue that I work for will take them back for those two days, considering the unexpected circumstances? I called my friend who also works there and she said she would talk with the manager. My worry is that there won't be an open space for my kittens, as the shelter is VERY busy and full and I haven't heard back from them.
