I bought a really cool lampshade that I like, but I don't have a lamp to put it on. Do you guys know any other creative ways I can use this lampshade? I was thinking maybe flipping it upside down, putting a cover on the bottom and using it as a trash bin but I'm looking for some more suggestions. Thanks!

I'm currently living in the States, trying to maintain my culture but most of the Muslims here are pretty white washed so I don't know what's right and wrong anymore.

Here's the question: My dad told me today "In our culture, women are expected to do the cooking," Now I'm not against cooking but that just sounds demeaning. Is this true? Does it say in the Qura'an that women must cook? Cause when I grow up and am working 40 hours a week there is no way in hell I'm going to stay in the kitchen all day...

Right now I work as an administrative assistant for a law firm once a week (on Sundays usually) and I get paid minimum wage ($8). I've been with the firm for 9 months now and it's a bit stressful because I don't work a lot. My boss likes the fact that I am flexible and often texts me an hour before I have to go to work that work is canceled which isn't that big of a deal because I like the fact that she's flexible too, but I'm not sure if a raise is warranted because I haven't worked a lot. The one thing that is pushing me towards asking for a raise is the fact that most other jobs (even at the mall) pay $9-$10 an hour. What do you think? If you do think I should ask for a raise, how should I approach the situation?

I'm only in high school and my resume is 2 pages long since I've included my past jobs and my community service projects. Should I take out the community service projects so it's only 1 page?

My resume is 1.5 pages and I can't cut it down any less so please don't tell me I need to make it 1 page. My question is, is it okay if I print it on plain white paper? Also, should I staple it, paper clip it, or just leave it as it is with my name on both papers that are numbered?

I got a permit when I was 16 and it expired. I didn't complete the 3 driving lessons that were required (I only completed one), now that I'm 17 and a half what do I need to do in order to get my license? If I renew my permit do I have to take the three lessons again? I'm hoping to get my license within 3 months if possible..

I'm a Muslim woman, and I realize that I have a lot to learn about the religion which is why I am asking this question so please don't write any hate, I'm just trying to learn.

Now this passage says that women who do their eyebrows will be cursed. However, I know for a fact that most of Muslim women do remove unwanted facial hair. So if this is considered okay now, then are tattoos also considered okay? There are so many controversies and things that are considered halal now because as time goes by we need to evolve, but how am I supposed to know what to follow and what not to follow if the rules keep changing?

I'm currently on vacation out of the country and took my Zune and my charger with me. But suddenly, the charger stopped working. The charger looks fine and the Zune works perfectly well it just won't charge. I checked the USB ports on my laptop and that isn't the problem either. I can't buy a new one or go see someone for help because they don't have Zunes here. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? It's really ruining my vacation...

I want to lose weight, but more than anything, I want to lose the access layer of fat around my stomach. The most irritating part that I really want to work on is the lower stomach, right above my thigh area. How the heck do I lose that?
