  • Whats a good Charity Golf Tournament name?

We are putting on our first golf tournament to benefit children with heart defects. Any ideas on what the name should be. It will be held in California, in the Valley, if that helps at all.

  • How do I clean my gas oven, even with mold in it?

I just moved into a different apartment that the company I work for rents. Apparantly the men who lived here before me knew nothing about cleaning, or were just to lazy.

I have an older model gas stove. When I opened the oven, I was disgusted. There is white, what looks to be like mold, on the right side. It goes a little below the bottom of the oven and I'm not sure how to get it really clean. I'm a little scared of the "gas" part too.

Any ideas on how to clean this up and what to use would be appreciated.

  • Why would my dog lick the carpet?

Last night he was just walking around licking the carpet. I've seen him do this a few others times too. Does your dog ever do this or why is mine doing this weird thing?

  • Why does my throat burn?

When I use to run whether for track in school or run for exercise, my throat would always burn. It could be hot or cold outside, that didn't matter and sometimes I'd cover my mouth with my shirt or hand. That would help a little but but it'd still burn.

I see people running sometimes with those little white face masks (the little white ones with a stretchy band) on and I wonder if thats why.

  • Would you tell your child about "Santa Claus"?

I'm not saying if I would or not, I have no children.

I know of a few couples who chose not to tell their children about Santa Claus, "because it is a lie" and when they found out he wasn't real, at a very young age they were affected badly.

Just wondering what your thoughts on this would be.

  • Why are our fish dying?

We got a 55 gallon aquarium w/accessories from a friend. Yesterday we went to the pet store and got 20 feeder fish (gold fish) of all different colors and sizes. We keep them in the tank for about 6 weeks until the bacteria and other things are ready for other kinds of fish.

Within 1 hour of putting the fish in the tank most of them were laying on the bottom, just barely breathing. This morning when we woke up, all the small ones, about 12, were dead. When I left for work, which would have been about 1 hour later, some of the big ones were just floating at the top barely breathing still. I have a feeling when I go home for lunch in an hour and a half that they will all be dead.

What in the world happened? Could it have been the water temperature? Maybe the chlorine in the water, if there is some? What should we do to the tank before we put more fish in there?

  • Where should we NOT go?

We are going to SF this weekend, we've never been. We have a few things that we'd like to do: Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, GG Park, Alcatraz and few others. We are really excited to go. Is there anywhere we shouldn't go? Maybe dangerous places or really gay places (we are straight).

Nothing against anyone, we just don't have a lot of time and want to make the best of our trip with things we want to see and places we want to go.

  • Why does a tattoo get puffy?

My bf has many tattoos and some of them he's had for 15 years or more. Most of them are color but some are just black/grey. Some times a part of one will be really poofy and itch (sometimes its just the outline). It usually only last for a few hours but it happens often. Does anyone why? Is it maybe some sort of allergy?

  • How to talk to someone that is always defensive?

How can I talk to my bf about how I feel, what I need and just talk about our relationshipwhen he is usually insecure about himself and defensive. We have been together for 6 years, I'm 28 and he's 34. I think if I began to talk to him about things that I'm not getting out of our relationship that I need, then he'll get mad/angry and nothing will be solved. I've tried in the past, I'll start the conversaion with maybe a half hearted joke about an issue that I have and he is usually instantly mad and gets pretty loud, thats when I usually get quiet and the conversation is over. How do I overcome this and open up the communciation lines with him? Neither of us are very patient but we are both adults and we should be able to have adult conversations.

  • What materials do I need to paint a weeping willow tree?

I am 28. When I was in 7th grade I took a painting class and ended up painting 5 canvas paintings. Mountainous scenery, wintery scenery, flowering fields with back of woman and cottage in the background, barn on small pond scenery, and one other that I can't remember. A few of them won best out of the whole class, voted on by some school members. I would love to get back into painting and have wanted to for some time now I just don't know where to start.

Christmas is coming and my boyfriend's (of 6 years) favorite tree is the weeping willow. I would love to paint him a black and white pic of one and I have actually found the picture I'd like to recreate on canvas for him.

What materials should I start with for this painting?

I'll continue to get more supplies (paints, brushes) as time goes.

  • I need a carrier to put my dog in on an AA flight. Do you know of one with these specs?

American Airlines will allow a soft sided carrier so long as its 23" L x 13" W x 9" H and it has to made of water repellant, padded nylon. Other than that it says nothing else. I've looked every where for a carrier that is shorter than 9" and I've only found one, the problem is , it's not padded nylon. It's nylon on the inside but a sport mesh on the outside. I'm beginning to think American Airlines is impossilbe to please. Has anyone ever flown with an animal in the cabin on AA? If so, please help me and tell me where I can find a suitable carrier for my Chi, Charlie who weighs only 6lbs. Flight is from California to Kentucky (roundtrip). Thank you very much.

  • Christians do you feel as sad as I do?

Today was the first time I've ever been to YA Religion & Spirtuality forum. And for the people out there that are like me, Christian, I think you could probably get what I'm feeling. I have the biggest pit in my stomache reading all of this nonsense. I don't understand how some of you can claim you believe in Hell but not Heaven. ??? That doesn't make any since to me. I am so saddened by all of the disbelief. Have any non-believers ever heard of Faith? I cannot believe there are so many people who refuse to believe. But I will say, I know there will come a day and many, believe it will be soon, that our Lord will come and take those of us who KNOW he is real and leave all others to stay here which will turn into Hell. And I am so glad that I will not be here, instead I will be in Heaven with my Father. Good luck to you.

  • Nuva Ring. Have you had any problems?

I'm considering using this as my birth control method. I had an IUD for 2 years and had a little cramping but was going to move away from my doctor so I decided to have her take it out. I was worried about another doctor removing it. So after that was taken out I decided to get back on the pill, however, I do not like to take the pill. I don't do it as I'm suppose to. I am very interested in this new Nuva Ring and was wondering, has any girls tried it and if so, what did you like/dislike about it? All imput would be great. (include cost too if you want)

  • Why can't I get over some of my ex's?

I'm not married but me & my boyfriend have been together for 6 years with a 6 month split a year ago. I dated someone within that split, he did not. My problem is there are a few (maybe 3) of my ex's that I still think of. I dream of them sometimes too. I've even gone online and tried to find them, not that I would try to reach them, I think I just wanted to know where they are. The few that I'm talking about were long relationships. One was 3 1/2 years and it ended because we lived in different towns and I got lonely. We were pretty young though and never had sex or anything. Another, was my senior sweetheart. He's not with us anymore on this earth but I'm still very close to his family. We were so in love I don't really know what happened to this relationship. We actually went out twice and he ended it both times. His parents still call me the daughter they never had. The other relationship that I still think of was when I was 20 or so. We were together for 1 1/2 or so. He ended it because when he got out of the military (which was close to my home) he moved home and went to college and I kind of gave him an ultimatum and he ended it. I told him we needed to be together (he was a few states away) and I'd move to where he was if he could tell me we definately had a future together.

I loved all of these men and I still have a place in my heart for them. Will I always?

  • I've substituted Canola Oil for Vegetable Oil in brownies but they always seem to come out gooey and not done.?

Is the oil the cause of this or should I just cook them longer? Does the measurement of oil need to change if I substitute the two?
