  • How can I salvage a bad plumbing job?

The lazy plumber who did my bathroom put loads and loads of sealant around the bath to secure it to the wall. This eventually split so I have a huge gap (too big to be filled in with sealant really)

The plumber is no longer in this area, and I can't afford another one. What can I buy to put around the edge of the bath to hide the gap between the bath and the wall?

    Thanks!

  • Names that can be shortened to Finn?

My husband and I are expecting a baby in January. If it is a girl we want to call her Finley, shortened to Finn.

Can you think of ay unusual ways to spell Finley, or other names that can be shortened to Finn? Made up names are welcome.

I know some people think Finley is too masculine for a girl but that doesn't bother me. Thanks in anticipation xx

  • What do you think about.....?

The name Finlay for a little girl?

Also, my husband I cannot agree on spelling. So choose your favourite

    Finlay

    Finley

    Finlea

(I don't like Finleigh or Finlee)

    Thanks!!!!

  • What is the cheapest way to get a new coded Ford car key?

I've lost the key for my W reg ford fiesta. The local ford garage have quoted me £40 to cut a new key using the serial number (if I can find it) plus another £120-£250 to code it.

Is there a cheaper way I can get my car running? It's not worth £290, but I don't really want to scrap it :-(

  • Do you remember a poem called "Stinky Poo"?

When I was a little girl (1992ish) I had a poetry book. The first poem was called "Stinky Poo" and was about a monster. The first couple of lines went...

"Down in the slime, and the sludge bog stew

    Lives a monster, Stinky Poo"

I have recently had a baby, and want to get my hands on a copy of this poem. It made me laugh every night before bed, and I want the same for my little boy.

    PLEASE HELP!!

  • How can I satisfy my hungry 8 week old baby?

My little boy drinks 6oz of aptamil hungry baby every 2-3 hours, resulting in my husband and I getting no sleep. I have tried baby rice before bed (on the recommendation of my health visitor) but it has made no difference. He refuses to take water or his dummy.

He weighs 13lb3oz and is otherwise very happy!

I want to buy my husband a really nice new acoustic guitar as a surprise. He has been playing for many years, but complains that his acoustic guitar is rubbish.

  • How can I get my baby to turn OA?

I visited my midwife this morning after my waters broke. I am 1cm dilated, having some backache and my mucus plug has gone.

The baby is OP cephalic (back-to-back, head down) which means I'm looking at a long labour. My midwife wants me to have an epidural, but I really don't want this.

HOW CAN I GET MY BABY TO TURN AROUND SO HIS FACE IS UPWARDS???

  • Breastfeeding - What size bra should I buy?

Sounds like a silly question, but I'm getting my hospital bag sorted and realised that I need some new bras. I was a 34B/C before the pregnancy, and now at 38 weeks I am 36C.

Do I buy a 36D? I'm hoping to breastfeed, so I know my boobs are going to get bigger.

Also, what type of bra would you recommend? We don't have maternity shops anywhere nearby, so I haven't got the option to buy special nursing bras.

Thank you in advance....my midwife doesn't seem to have the answer!

  • Why are my cats trying to mate?

I have a female cat who has been spade, and a male cat who is due to be neutered next Tuesday.

The male is being very vocal at the moment, constantly crying and looking round the house, not to mention spraying. He is obviously horny.

My female cat is happy to let him get on her back and attempt mating. Why is this?

Also, after a few minutes of mating the male cat lets out a horrendous scream. Why is this?

There is no chance of them making kittens, so do you think it is ok to allow them to 'mate' or should I keep splitting them up?

  • Suggestions for unusual boys names please?

I am expecting a little boy in 3 weeks, and still haven't found a baby name.

It should be fairly unusual (but not too crazy) and fit with the middle name Bobby, surname Davies. I like things that are quirky or earthy.

    eg Dexter Bobby Davies

  • When will his head engage?

I'm 36+3 with my first baby. He has been is head-down position for a good few weeks and I was just wondering when his head will actually become engaged?

I'm getting very uncomfortable and restless, finding it hard to turn over in bed and get out of chairs etc. Wondering what the chances are of him coming early?
