  • Why do people mispronounce simple words and names?

I worked in a real estate office and I can't count the number of times that people said the word, "realator" instead of being correct by saying, "realtor". There is only one "a" in the title. It's not, "real-a-tor"; it's "real-tor". By the way, realtors also make this mistake.

Then I was watching the news about Tiger Woods. They compared him to "Jack Nicklaus" If you can read, you know his last name is, pronounced "Nick-Loss", not "Nick-a-loss".

Where do people find extra letters and why do people do this?

  • Apartment Complex Allows Cats, But Not Mine.?

My apartment complex said they allow cats, which is why I moved here. They have restrictions on dogs such as pit bulls and shepherds. There is no weight limit to cats, but there are for dogs (60 lbs.). My neighbors love my cat and she is very affectionate.

I have a Savannah cat. She is about 8 months old and weighs about 18 pounds and she'll be about 25 pounds when grown. I take her on a leash for walks and I understand she looks like a small leopard. I guess someone thought she was a leopard or a cheetah. The management has told me I can't have this cat. Upon this notice, I took my cat to the management office. Everyone there loved her. She purrs as loud as a small car engine. They said because of her size and that the other tenants might be concerned, I pointed out that the lease clearly states that cats are allowed with no size or weight restrictions.

If an apartment complex says you can have cats, do you think I have a right to have my cat, even though she is relatively large? I was told I could have a cat and I disclosed what breed she was prior to the lease signing and the lease had a box that I checked that I have a cat.

My cat is not a lion, a panther, a cheetah, lynx, or bobcat. She is my baby and while she is 3 times the size of a typical cat, she is just a cat, although of an unusual breed. I get that, I really do. But as a matter of contract, I disclosed what she is and they accepted my lease based upon what I stated, and what I stated was true.

  • What was this movie that William Windom was in?

Decades ago I saw a TV movie with William Windom. The only thing I remember is that he was seen at an open door viewed from the inside to the outside where he was standing in the rain on a porch in a suit and I think he only had one arm and in the rain. It was either a mystery movie or a horror film, I can't remember. Anyone know what this movie was?

  • Can You Identify A Specific Madonna Performance?

I saw a performance by Madonna within the last 10 years and need your help finding it. I think it was at an awards show of some kind, but not sure. She was wearing what appeared to be a long silver or grey satin floor length gown standing on a grate that had a fan blowing her long blonde hair. Somehow, it was only her hair blowing, not her dress. She had male dancers around her, also wearing similar silver or grey slacks that were rather tight. Not sure if they were shirtless or had tank tops on. She was singing a slower song, although I don't remember what it was. I believe the rest of the stage was dark and lights shown up from the grate, and behind her. She stood in the same position the entire song, while her dancers reached for her, but didn't touch her. Do you know what performance this was and what she was singing?

  • Is There A Way To Send A Hidden Read Receipt In Outlook?

I want to be able to get a "read receipt" for an email I send in Outlook, but I don't want the recipient to know it. I know about a "delivery receipt", but I want to know if someone has opened my email, without them knowing that I am aware of it. Is there a way to get a "read receipt" without the recipient seeing the "read receipt" box?

  • Can You Resurface Rotors On A Jetta?

I need brakes for my 2001 VW Jetta. Everywhere I go says they have to resurface the rotors (turn them) and won't put the brakes on if they don't. A mechanic I know says you shouldn't do this for my particular car and said they were too thin and that they would warp if they were resurfaced. He said for my car, you only replace them, not resurface them. He has no monetary gain for his opinion. Has anyone had this car and dealt with this?

  • When I type and apostrophe, it spaces the "s"?

Everytime or nearly, when I'm writing an email and I type an apostrophe, the "s" is pushed one space over, leaving a blank space before the "s". So instead of "he's" it becomes, "he' s. Do you know how to correct this? Word is the email editor. Thanks!

  • Stick Shift or Automatic - Advantages?

I saw a used car I like, a 2005 Hundai Sonata and I like everything about it except I didn't know it was a stick shift until I got in it. The price is good and I'm not a stranger to manual trannys; I drove a school bus when I was in high school and if you can drive one of those stick shifts, you can drive anything. I live in Jacksonville, FL and until I get on the freeway to work and off of that, there are a few lights to say the least. My buddy said not to get it, but I don't know if he could drive a stick or not, but he would never buy one. I value his opinion, but I can't drive a stick fine, it's just not my first preference. I also think after driving it a while, it would be second nature and since my buddy isn't driving it, his opinion really doesn't affect me.

What are your thoughts on the advantages of choosing a stick, or waiting to find an automatic that I would also like? Money is a definite issue and this is the first car I've seen that I can afford that I like, other than the stick.

  • What Is Your Favorite Star Trek Episode? - Original Series?

Anyone who liked them, loved them. What is your favorite episode of Star Trek TV featuring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy? I have mine and the first to name it gets 10 points! Hint: It is not "The Trouble With Tribbles". While that is not my favorite, if it is yours then be honest; the consensus is that was the best.

  • My "D" Storage Drive Wants Reformatting?

I have a second drive (D) that I use for storing photos and whatever over the years. I have always been able to access it. Today I clicked on it and a window displayed saying, "The Disk in drive "D" is not formatted. Would you like to format it now"?

I'm not new to PC's and I built this computer and never had a problem. I know if I click "yes" to format, it will erase the drive. Does anyone know what happened and how to access the drive? Should I remove it, buy another and have someone transfer my files to a new drive?

I've done nothing to make this happen. Thanks.

  • Are Photos on the Web Public Domain?

My boss wants me to create a email flyer advertisement and I need a beach photo. If I find a picture doing a simple image search and find one that has no copywrite symbol, name or website on it, can I use it without any liability? It's just for some emails rather than something we'd hand out. I know that the images that are displayed are usually on a website, but some of them I have seen in multiple places. Are those free wallpaper site photos OK to use also?

  • A new employee touches me and I don't like it.?

I'm a guy and this new woman who was hired asks questions sometimes and when she does, she touches me on my shoulder. She later began to kind of rub my shoulder. I've seen her do this to others, even other women. Perhaps it is her way, but I don't like it. She has come to know that I workout and once she touched my arm and said, "You really do workout". Today, I was walking down the hall and she said, "I like your gate". I said, "What"? She said I walk different than other guys. I actually do because I pay attention to my posture and I know I do walk differently, but I think it is strange for someone to point that out.

I don't want to tell my boss and I really don't want to tell her either. I have told some co-workers and they seem to think she is a bit strange also. How can I tell this woman not to touch me without being rude?

  • I made my own herb olive oil, now looks strange on top.?

I purchased a premium olive oil and put fresh rosemary stalks in it. For a while I let it sit and it smelled great. I've used it a few times and everything tasted good. Now I see the tips of the leaves look like there is smudge on top; the rest of the oil looks good, but it now smells kinda musty. I'm thinking when the oil went down a bit, the tops of the leaves were exposed to air. I've seen oil you can buy that looks just like what I made, but never have seen this on the top before.

What did I do wrong and should I throw it out or should I just pour the oil in another container?

  • Why Does Harley Davidson = Fat?

I've noticed this over the years, but over the last week I have been doing a real study. Guys who ride Harley Davidson motorcycles are for the most part fat. Guys who ride other bikes like Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki aren't.

My log shows this week I have seen 23 bikers. 10 of them were Harley Davidson. Of those 10, 9 of them were fat. Of the other 13 bikers riding different models, 12 of them were not fat and in pretty good shape; 6 of them were "ripped" (fantastic shape).

So, I saw only one guy in shape riding a Harley. I saw only one fat person riding something else.

What is it about Harley Davidson riders that makes them prone to be fat, and what is it about other makes of bikes that their riders are in good shape?
