  • Why won't my sink drain?

Just moved into our new home, and the basement bathroom sink drains so slow, you can't use it. Just turning on the water for one second, takes 5 minutes to drain out. All the water works fine, and the toilet flushes just fine. What is causing this, and how hard is it to fix. I'm pretty handy and feel like I should be able to figure it out, but I need some ideas.

  • Ford 4.6 Engine Question?

The housing that the Thermostat sits in is cracked just enough that it's leaking. Not the cover that the hose is attached to. Is there a way to replace this housing or repair it?

  • Strange cooling problem in my car.?

2000 Ford Crown Vic w/Police interceptor engine. Just started overheating and making strange gurgiling sounds from behind the dashboard. Here's the strange part, the steam is coming out of the defroster, and air conditioning vents. It doesn't appear to be leaking coolant anywhere, and I don't have to put a lot of water/coolant into the overflow tank. Someone told me that it might be the heater core is leaking or the hoses are split going to the heater core. Is this something that can be fixed easily?

  • What's wrong with my computer?

I have a DSL Connection and did a speed check online and it came in at 1.69 Mbps. My net work connection reads 100.0 Mbps, and when I go to download a file it only goes up to 312Kbps. Why the difference and can I change anything to speed it up?

  • 2003 Ford Taurus Brake Problem.?

When you drive the brakes work fine until you get to about 10 mph and then the FL wheel makes a winey sound and there is a vibration in the pedal. The ABS light is not on so I figure it's not too serious.

I'm thinking I need to bleed out that brake line. Am I correct or barking up the wrong tree?

  • What could be the problem with my car?

2003 Ford Taurus. Car won't start occasionally. Nothing turns or clicks. Power is on and all dash lights are on, just when you turn the key, nothing. If you turn it a few times it finally turns over and starts as normal. I changed the starter motor relay and the problem went away until recently. Now the car will suddenly die while being driven. Sometimes it starts and sometimes not. What do you think might be the problem? Ignition switch? On board computer? Help.

  • Central A/C cools the whole house except one room upstairs.?

A/C unit works fine except it seems to have a hard time cooling the master suite. I can feel some cool air coming through the vent and some from the bath attached, but not enough to cool the entire room. If I crank it up to cool down my room, the rest of the house is too cold and my kids open the windows. Could there be a simple solution or what?

  • Air handler in my car won't move from defrost. What's the problem?

Recently when I turn on the heat or vent or a/c everything is directed to the defroster. It seems like the air handler won't move off of defrost. What might be the problem? Fuse? Vacuum hose? I can change from hot to cold, and the fan speeds work fine, but everything comes out of the defrost vents. The car is a 1999 Ford Taurus SE 3.0 V6.

  • Dryer stopped heating. What do you think is wrong?

Kenmore dryer, 21 years old, just stopped heating up while it runs. Everything seems to work normally except the heat. Checked and do have 110 volts to each leg of the element, and switches seem to be working as they should. The old element still has continuity, but won't heat up. Is the element bad, or could it be something else?

  • Why won't the car start?

2003 Ford Taurus. Turn the key and it just sits there. No clicking, no sound at all. Had some sort of a relay installed last april with the same problem, but the dealer did it and I'm not exactly sure what they did. Any ideas? Car runs great other then this and all the guages and lights work fine. Just won't turn at all.

  • Power Window Problem on 2003 Ford Taurus?

The window will go down but not up. When you push the switch the relay under the dash clicks. I replaced the relay and the new one just clicks also. Could it be the switch or maybe the motor? The window hasn't given me any trouble in the past. Went up and down very smoothly until yesterday. I am probably over thinking this but if someone could give me some direction.

  • I've got a philips head screw stripped out. How can I get it out?

Any ideas on how to get out this philips head bolt from the distributor cap on my truck. The bolt head is round, so I can't put a wrench on it. I can hacksaw it off and tap it out if I have to, but would rather not. If anyone has a better idea, I'm all ears.

  • Dog has a giant blister looking thing on her back. What should I do?

It looks like a huge blister on her back and is getting larger. It doesn't seem to be causing her any trouble, but sometimes she wants to try and chew it off, but I stop her. Should I let her bite it or leave it the way it is? I had her to a vet a couple years ago about something else, and he said that it wasn't anything that could really harm her, but he could take it off. At the time I didn't have the money to have that done, So now that it's somewhat larger do you think it might be a larger problem?

  • Need to rebuild the engine in my son's truck and need some help.?

Just did a compression test and one cylinder has 35psi compression and the other 3 have 135 - 155 of steady pressure. I think the problem may be just a blown head gasket. Could it be something else? If that's it, then what to do next?
