Macbook Pro i have to use the function (fn) key to use my top row correctly?
somehow i accidently hit a few buttons together and reset my keyboard to where i have to hold down the function(fn) key to use my top row of keys for their illustrated purposes. Foe instance, i have to hold down "fn" and then push the volume buttons in order to use them for volume. otherwise, they summon my dashboard containing the calendar and calculator or they make my internet page go up and to the right. does anyone know how to remedy this please?!!!!
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agowe're trying to think of a name for a baby girl for our second child.?
if it's a boy, we already have a name, but picking out a girl name is proving to be a challenge.
i want something that sounds a little southern, or old fashioned, but not overused.
i also love flowers, as did my mother and my aunt.
i want something that will be cute in her childhood years but also appropriate when she's an adult.
i don't like names that are severely trendy. lily has been very overused...and neveah i just think just sounds silly...for examples.
some names i like:
Addison
Eileen
Calla
Camilla
Raven
Melody
Jo
Layla
Lucy
Adelaide
Helena
Lea(the goddess of canoe makers! my sister and i are avid kayakers/canoers)
Olive
Ila (pronounced eeela)
Irene
i also like earthy names-names derived from nature but that don't sound strange as names.
and i love the name Artemis....lol. my husbna disn't very savvy with it but i'd like to incoporate it as a middle name.
so any suggestions you have or variations/combinations of any of these names is appreciated.
our last name is Brownlee...
17 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agomy 18 month old won't sleep tonight ?!?
he's never done this before. he's slept all the way through the night since he was 2-3 months old. he goes to bed at the same time every single night, and doesn't have any kind of caffeine or anything. he has no fever...i'm stumped. he didn't want to fall asleep rocking so we put him in the crib tonight to let him cry it out. about 40 minutes later we went to go make sure he was covered up...and he was wide awake! so we rocked him..and rocked him..and when neither of us could rock him anymore we tried putting him in the crib again.
we fell asleep..and i woke up at 3:45am and went and checked on him--he's still wide awake!! i fed him this time, to make sure he wasn't hungry, just some crackers and milk. gave him a little tylenol because he is teething, and rocked him for about 35 more minutes. he was still awake when i put him in his crib.
has anyone else ever had this problem out of the blue like this? i'm worried about my little guy.
1 AnswerToddler & Preschooler1 decade agotrying to make funny wedding invitations, anyone witty with words?
i have traditional-looking wedding invitations...simple enough, but i want some funny wording. has anyone ever seen a funny and memorable wedding invitation? i keep trying to look on the internet, but all the ideas seem so bland...
a little about ourselves...
-i'm from south louisiana-he calls me a cajun
-he's from texas, where we live
our wedding is a simple backyard bash with close friends and family, who know how sarcastic we are and how much we don't take ourselves seriously...
-we met on a cruise
-i am very spontaneous and uninhibited, very laid back , extroverted, colorful person
-he's the exact opposite, but he balances me out -he always worries about everything, very cautious, introverted, plans out every second of a trip, likes to stay inside and watch movies while i like to go out and go kayaking
-we're dorks...our house is decorated in start wars
-we have on son, who is one year old...and exactly like me
if anybody is really good with creative and funny scripting...have at it. i'm giving you a no-holds-bar to write whatever you like for me
i greatly appreciate any poetry or ideas!!!!! thanks you guys!
4 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agogifting info on our wedding invitations....?
we plan on planning a honeymoon to italy sometime next year after we save some more...and we planned on having a box at the wedding for monetary donations...we aren't doing a wedding registry because we literally have everything we need or want, and we'd really rather have the money to go towards our late honeymoon (sorry if that sounds greedy)
my problem is...how do i very politely state all this on our invitations?
the best i can come up with is:
in lieu of gifts, feel free to donate towards the couples honeymoon, to be taken sometime next year.
i just feel kind of rude asking for money for something we technically don't have planned out yet...if you were a guest who received the invitation, would you think that this was rude? i don't want to insult anyone...

1 AnswerWeddings1 decade agoFatty filet mignon at Outback Steakhouse...?
i ate at Outback last night, and after the appetizer, bread, and soup, i couldn't manage to stuff myself with my scrumptious-looking filet mignon that i ordered, so i had the waiter box it up so i could take it home.
i opened the box today for lunch, heated the meat in the oven, cut into it, and omg. it was surely the fattiest filet mignon i've ever seen. it was marbled for goodness sakes. i'm not trying to sound picky, but i paid the extra money for a steak with less fat, and i expect to get what i pay for. i think this was some impersonating meat. it couldnt have been a filet. i hope outback isn't charging filet price for thick ribeye cuts, but i'm afraid that, by the looks of this meat, that may be what they're doing.
has anyone else had this problem at Outback, or any other restaurant for that matter?
