Ram compatibility question.?
I'm looking into buying a cpu/motherboard/ram combo kit that comes with 1 Kingston HyperX Red 8gb stick, if I were to buy say another 3 more ram sticks all 8gb and the same speed 1600mhz. Will it cause issues? They would all be same brand.
Heres the ram that Im thinking of combining if this is stupid idea I would like to know of course before I spend the money. Will only cost me about 15-20 dollars more to get all matching ram if thats necessary just unsure on how this works. Thanks for any replys ahead of time.
2 AnswersDesktops8 years agoI want to upgrade from a HDD to a SSD, will I need anything other than the SSD itself?
So I believe my hard drive in my desktop has been having issues, aside from backing up my data and creating an restore image, what will I need/need to do to the upgrade? I don't really know much about SSDs, do they use the same adapter plug as the HDD currently in? Aside from loading my old info on it what else do I need to do to set it up? Also I read that I need to make sure I get the right type (SATA/IDE) I believe my current is SATA... Any and all help appreciated, I can give more info about my system/specs if necessary. Also can you give me links to good prices/compatible models with my system? Please give the info in SSD's for dummies form because I am super inexperienced with SSDs and somewhat inexperienced with desktop setup.
1 AnswerDesktops9 years agoIs it harmful for a dog to eat their own feces?
This morning, my dog wouldn't eat and a few hours later, she threw up. It was a lot of puke and I believe she threw up her own poop. The vomit was the same colour as her poop usually is. I think she had gone poop yesterday when we weren't home and ate it. She was fine for the rest of the day after throwing up. Obviously a bit weak and sad looking, but perked up a bit later. She ate her dinner just fine too and we thought she was okay. It's been a few hours since she ate and now she's shaking and panting and has been having diarrhea every half hour for about two hours. After she poops, there's a tiny bit of blood. Could she have food poisoning from her own feces?
4 AnswersDogs9 years agoWhy doesn't my cat cuddle with me?
She follows me around the house. Like anytime I leave the room, she'll come too. She'll come and lay next to me and is always watching what I'm doing, but she just doesn't cuddle with me. Today I thought it was weird because she came and sat on my lap and was purring and rubbing up against me. However, the majority of the time, if I come and lay by her, she'll leave. If I put her on my lap, she'll leave. If I move her closer to me, she'll leave. She doesn't purr, she doesn't rub against me, she doesn't like me to hold her, she doesn't like kisses. I just don't understand if she's so aloof, why does she have to be in the same room as me and be around me all the time? Is there anyway that I can get her to be more affectionate?
She's also only 5 months old, will she eventually grow out of that and be affectionate?
7 AnswersCats9 years agoHow to get dog to eat?
I have a 3 year old Papillon mix that I rescued over 6 months ago. When I first got him, the vet told me he was the perfect weight at 7.5 lbs. He has bad teeth so for the last month or two, I was using Petzlife Oral Gel. I also got a cat in the last month or two.
Before I would leave his bowl out with kibble all day and let him eat how he liked. In the last month, I've noticed that he hasn't been eating much at all. The cat has also been trying to eat his food, so I've taken it away and started him on a meal time. It's been about a week since I've started him on a routine and he hasn't really eaten. I'm supposed to be feeding him a cup of food a day. I'd say he's eaten about a quarter of a cup a day if not less, except for one day that I was hand feeding him food. He's also much skinnier now than when I first got him. Since noticing this, about a week ago, I've stopped using the gel on his teeth. He eats Nature's Recipe Easy to Digest dry dog food. I refuse to feed him anything but kibble because of his teeth.
The only thing that seems to be making him eat is if I hand feed him. I don't want to have to hand feed him, but he just has no appetite. He seems okay in all other respects, he's active and poops fine. How can I get him to eat? Is the gel what made him lose his appetite?
4 AnswersDogs9 years agoHow long does it take for a pet to recover from a rabies shot?
Do they use the same exact shot on cats and dogs? How long will it be so that I don't have to worry about symptoms of the shot to show up anymore? How long till I can rough house with them again?
I want descriptions on small, medium and large dogs, as well as cats.
3 AnswersDogs9 years agoWhere does the term "chop, chop" come from?
As in, "I need this done, chop, chop." Meaning quickly or as soon as possible.

1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body9 years agoHow am I supposed to be feeding my dogs?
I have a 2 year old female American Cocker Spaniel and 3-4 year old male Papillon mix. I usually just fill the bowl with some kibble and they eat it throughout the day. I refuse to feed them any kind of wet food because the Papillon has bad teeth.
I want to put them on a routine mealtime, but they won't just run up and eat the kibble like they would wet food, which is why I leave it out. However, my new cat is always trying to eat their food so I don't want to leave it out anymore. How do I put them on a routine? Also, what is a good inexpensive dog food?

1 AnswerZoology9 years agoDo you have any quirky interests or hobbies?
I love cartoons and I often know more than the majority of people about the animators, the animation process and what not. I'm an animation major too. My boyfriend is like that with plants, especially aquatic plants and he wants to study botany.
Is anyone else like this about a different subject?

Isn't only the red coloured bindi supposed to mean anything anyway? And isn't it for Hinduism in general, not just Indian? Why is it so wrong for a non-Indian person to wear it?

2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture9 years agoWhat are some foods that keep you full?
My boyfriend has a fast metabolism and every few hours is bugging me to make him food. If I don't make him food, he'll make some himself, but complain that he's still hungry so I end up making something anyway. What are some foods that can keep him from getting hungry so quickly?
5 AnswersOther - Food & Drink9 years agoHow do you resist sweet cravings?
A month or two ago, I developed some velvety patches of skin between my breasts and on my lower back. They aren't dark, but you can definitely feel it. I know that these patches have something to do with insulin levels.
Now, I've never been obese, but I was chubby and I've lost the rest of the weight recently. I work out a couple times a week, so I don't know why I have these patches because everywhere I read they say to stay in shape to get rid of them. I do eat a lot of sweets, which might be the cause. My grandmother also had diabetes, so I definitely want to stop eating so much chocolate and cookies.
What are some tips on resisting the urge to eat sweets?
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agoHow do you train a dog perfectly?
I have a 2 year old American Cocker Spaniel I rescued about half a year ago. She knows how to sit, lay down and bark. However, she doesn't really do them on point. We have to tell her a few times and she'll also mix them all up. So I say "Sit" and she'll look at me. I say it again, she'll lay down. I say it again, she'll get excited and bark. I say it again and she'll sit and then lie down again.
It's like she does all the tricks until she gets it right for the treat. How can I get her to do the trick right the first time?

2 AnswersDogs9 years agoDogs won't eat their food?
I have two dogs, an American Cocker Spaniel that is 2 years old and a Papillon mix that is 3. I feed them only Purina brand kibble that they eat from a shared bowl. Used to be that I would fill the bowl once a day and they would eat how they liked throughout the day. Then it started to be every other day because they started to only eat when we were home. I'm very strict about feeding them only dry food because the Papillon has bad teeth and I'm working on getting them healthy again. (They're both rescues)
Anyway, about a month ago, I got a kitten. I feed her dry and wet food. Usually, I'll mix the wet food in with the dry food in the morning and just fill her bowl with dry food when she meows at me. Since we've gotten her, we've had a problem with the Papillon eating her food. Just the wet food though. Even though I'm careful about preventing him from eating it, I've noticed that he doesn't eat his normal food anymore. I mean, ever. I refill the dog bowl twice a week now because only the Cocker eats it.
I honestly don't know if he's eating the cat's kibble too or what because he never eats anymore. I have to hand feed him in order to make sure he's eating and even then he'll not want to eat sometimes. I tried mixing the kibble with a bit of boiled chicken and rice and he ate most it, but since I don't like to pick favourites for the dogs, I fed it to the Cocker too and she didn't eat any of the kibble. Plus it gave them diarrhea so I didn't feed them the chicken again.
I don't know what to do. Should I switch food for the Papillon? He ate more when I switched to the Purina in the fist place. I just don't want to have to hand feed him, but since getting the cat, I've only seen him eat his own food on his own twice.
Here's another thing, I'm currently using Petzlife Oral Gel on his teeth to remove the plaque. Could that be ruining his appetite? I don't use it everyday, though. Just every other day or so, as I remember.
I'm honestly just really worried that he's becoming malnourished because he never eats and when he does it's cat food.
3 AnswersDogs9 years agoHow do I keep axolotls from floating?
I have two juvenile axolotls. 20 gallon long, cycled, sponge filter, 60 degrees Farenheit, large river rocks and I feed them live meal worms. They've been floating and I know that it's bad when they are because it stresses them out when they can't touch the bottom. I was feeding them freeze dried shrimp and found out that was bad and most likely causing the floating. I switched to live meal worms and put them in the fridge. I took them out a week later and they were still floating after a few days so I fridged them again for another two weeks. I just put them back in the tank and after going to the surface for air, they started floating again. I've only fed them 2 or 3 times since switching to the meal worms nearly a month ago. Should I give them more time in the tank or Is there anything else I can do?
