  • In North Carolina who has the right of way at a four-way intersection?

To my understanding the person that reaches the intersection first has the right of way. But if myself and another cars arrives at the same time, the car on my right has the right of way. But what if I'm at the intersection with my right signal on, and the car on my right has his nearest turn signal to me on, which to him would be his left signal, does he still have the right of way or do I? In other words, we both arrive at the intersection at the same time. His car is on the right side of me, and I want to turn towards my right, and he wants to turn towards his left. Who has the right of way?

  • Does the S on the end of a name only mean ownership?

Does the S on the end of a name only mean ownership, or could it be short for is?

For example: John's going on a run today. Could that mean John is and be still correct grammar wise?

  • Is killing an enemy soldier execution style illegal?

By illegal, I mean against what is generally considered the 'rules of war.'

Scenario: A unit comes across an enemy patrol. The patrol is smoking a cigarette, with his guard completely down.

Would it be considered illegal for someone in the unit to sneak up on him and slash his throat?

  • I wanna switch from Time Warner?

to Earthlink internet. I'm tired of Time Warner. They said we have a phone service through them, we don't. They said we have four cable boxes, we don't. We only have two. Maybe the people that used to live here did? Either what, they're trying to charge us for all of this.

Anyway, I've heard Earthlink is partnered with Time Warner. Does this mean my Time Warner internet bill will be listed to Earthlink? Meaning, I'll have to pay that before Earthlink will hook up internet?

  • How much force can a BJJ fighter generate?

I was watching some old videos of street fights and ring fights where Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighters submitted opponents outweighing them by over 100 lbs. Some of these opponents actually were very bulky like a world-class bodybuilder.

I'm wondering how much force can a BJJ fighter actually generate in a submission. Do you think a BJJ practitioner could break a bodybuilder's arm from an armbar, even if the bodybuilder has a 100 lbs weight advantage on them?

  • BJJ match, no striking rule.?

First of all, thanks to everyone for answering my former question.

I know knee striking isn't allowed in the "no striking rules". But what about knee pushing?

Like if myself and another opponent was grappling while standing, and I lifted up a knee and pushed it against the opponent's stomach to give myself a bit of leverage. Is this illegal?

  • How does the obamacare fine work?

I'm over 19, and at the moment, haven't worked anywhere where I can file taxes. I'm also unemployed at the moment.

I won't have to pay the fine, right? Since I'm living with my parents, would they have to pay a fine for me?

  • Rope flexibility question (science fiction question)?

There's a rope strong enough to pull Earth. The length is 8 foot, with a diameter and weight of a jump rope.

Could a normal human fold the rope like you can a jump rope, or would they need superhuman strength?

  • Kevlar and steel Question?

Kevlar is stronger than steel from what I can remember.

I understand a knife can go through a vest made of Kevlar by spacing the fabric apart, instead of actually ripping through the Kevlar.

What about cutting through a Kevlar string with a knife? You aren't spacing the fabric apart; you're cutting through it... If you had a steel plate the size of a Kevlar string in diameter, would cutting through the Kevlar string be harder than cutting through the plate of metal?

  • Does all skin really need blood?

There's certain parts of the human body (such as the bottom of your feet and palms of your hands) that can have a piece of skin ripped off without even bleeding... If there's no blood flow on the outer layer of the feet and palms, how does that section of the skin gets nutrients from food?
