The American life so seems unique. I would love to how more about the cultural diversity in them country from are American perspective. I can name a few questions down that I would love to be answered.

Do many Americans celebrate religion through tribal dances?

What is common American industries?

What is common American religion?

How are public space used?

Do many Americans wear loincloths, or clothes?

Holly and I have been friends since kindergarten. But she brags to everyone way too much and she lies often to get attention. I know everyone has a problem like that but she is embarrassing me often and telling lies to my friends to make her seem better than me.

I`ll give you an example:

Yesterday at lunch, she just blatantly told everyone, "The band teacher told me I`m better than Leah at my instrument and that I did fantastic for a beginner."

I was like what??! She never said anything about that ever, and the band teacher told ME that I was doing fantastic at MY instrument for a beginner!

Why would she even dare if she knew I was gong to be there to tell her off and explain to my friends it was a lie?

Second example:

Holly and I got scolded by a teacher. We were quietly complaining about how stupid & boring the class was. I said, "This is the dumbest thing ever." She said, "I know, I wish I weren`t here."

Anyway, the teacher flipped on us. Holly, again at lunch, went and pouted. "Leah kept on trying to talk to me in class and complain! And then she got her AND me in trouble for it!"

Again, I was like "SHUT UP! That`s a literal flat out lie, just stop, you complained too! I would appreciate it if you would quit lying to everybody about stuff that YOU did!"

Anyway, it sucks & I need advice. she refuses to acknowledge her faults and won`t apologize. I don`t want to lose her but I am getting fed up with everything. Thanks.

If a child is homeless, what`s the point? What is their life goal if their parents are dead, they aren`t in school, they don`t have friends...

Of course, I know surviving is big, but what are they surviving for? No family or friends. No education. Barely any food.

I`ve been spitting all over my desk for the past hour and my jaw literally hurts now because I have been rolling my R`s so much. I have spit enough to fill a glass of water easy. It`s disgusting and I have put forth so much time & effort to doing it. No success. I`ve read articles, I`ve went to Spanish websites... I have horrible luck.

Anyway, will I EVER be able to roll R`s? Should I just give up?

I need a success story, and probably a little bit of advice.

I have glasses & was thinking about contacts. My eyes are a gray color and I would love to have blue eyes. Do colored contacts look realistic? Or could most people easily tell they were fake?

I hate the taste of water for some reason. never bothered to drink it. but recently i noticed the endless list of health benefits water brings.

i have tried drinking it before but it makes me feel slightly sickened and it makes me pucker up. i have no idea why, haha - water is supposed to be tasteless. not for me. it always tastes bad - it isn`t something to do with our tap gone bad or anything.

so i want to be able to drink water. how do i make myself like it?

Racism is bad, I know, I`m not racist.

But whenever we meet openly racist people, we avoid them as they are disrespectful people (as long as we are against racism of course, if you are racist you would have a different reaction).

Racism is just the judging of people by skin color. We judge people every day, by looks, by their hairstyle, by clothing style - racism is just another category of judging like any other. So why is this form of judging looked upon as a terrible, shameful act, whenever we judge people in some way every day?

Just wondering. I don`t know how well this description was but please give me some sort of answer.

I watched a show about black holes because Astronomy is the best field of science in existence and I realized that time stops at the event horizon of a black hole. Gravity stretches time so that seconds are equivalent to centuries, and eventually, right at the event horizon, time just STOPS.

a scottish astronomer explained, "if you watched a video of a human being falling into a black hole, they would go slower and slower as they approached the event horizon... and just as they reached the event horizon, they simply would quit moving. You would see their body, right at the surface, completely frozen and motionless."

But how? How does time, a sort of thing I always perceived as a metaphorical idea similar to the notion of love (which I do believe in! But it isn`t tangible, it isn`t PROVEN to exist, it is merely a strong emotion, you can`t see it), affect a clear, proven, tangible, actually physically viewed by our eyes, motion? Motion is so real! Time is so.... maybe-ish. We can`t prove it and we never will, there is no way, it is a theory our mind entertains to make sense of things!

How can an idea affect a proven thing?

Please only answer if you are like, an astrophysicist or something. I don`t want some random hobo answering my highly important space inquires.

So I just officially signed up for percussion in our school`s band. When I signed up, I kind of figured this would be what the 'notes' looked like, with R and L symbolizing right and left:

L R LLR LR RL

I thought that was all u needed. But instead, assuming I could read notes, the band teacher handed me a thick packet of music with very advanced notes on the papers. After I copied what others were doing because I couldn`t read it (and of course I did perfect because of this) the band teacher moved me up to ADVANCED percussion, which is even harder!

So I am really confused. I still have managed to copy the other players for the past few days, but I know I am falling behind and I have decided to face the fact that I should just learn to read notes.

I have been scanning some sites, but all of them just assume you know the very, very basics, such as whole notes ( I think that is what they are called?) and move on to other intermediate stuff. Due to my elementary music teacher who should be fired because she didnt help any of us learn notes, I am in need of a few websites that clearly start at the very beginning & possibly quiz you a little bit so I can tell if I am learning anything. I would love if it could be geared towards kids also.

It`s 3 30 so even if I did fall asleep I would only have time for 2 hours of sleep. I guess maybe it`s just because I had a very busy weekend, and that class is the one class i am struggling with. I know i probably will end up falling asleep in class or something, and there are SO many other things on my mind lately because I am such a busy person and have plenty of exams in the next few weeks.

So basically, I`m asking how can I clear my mind so that I am not so distracted I can`t sleep?

I`ve always thought i was weirder than most people. I will explain why.

1. I am a drummer and when I don`t have my drumsticks with me to beat on every object in sight, I end up subconsciously using my stomach to drum a beat.

2. I make songs out of everything in my life. Literally everything. Like I`ll just start screaming "SITTING ON THE COUCH, YYYEAAAHH, SURFIN THE WEBBBB, WHOOP WHOOP".

3. I shout random made up words really loud when I`m bored. Like I was just sitting in my room yesterday and then I was like "SHABBY WOMBA" (No idea)

4. I dance weirdly at random times.

5. Sometimes I just blurt out random facts whenever I feel like it, or make a song out of it (See 2). Ex. I was hanging with my sis yesterday just talking, and in a moment of silence i said with a straight face "All polar bears are left handed."

So! That`s all. Compare my weird habits with your weird habits and tell me how weird I am and if I should unleash my weirdness instead of hide it. Also tell me if you would judge me or you think others would. Just wonderin.

I am thinking about volunteering weekly at the local animal shelter. Like any shelter, the dogs aren`t always the friendliest (I`ve visited a few times).

I love animals. I want to make those dogs who are showing aggression out of fear, NOT meanness, feel relaxed around me. I know how to approach a dog, but how can I show an aggressive dog I mean no harm, whenever all they know of humans is that they lock them up and hope somebody comes along and adopts them?
