  • Abstinence only taught in Public Schools give me one good reason why?

Writing a term paper on the topic right now. It is an argumentative paper on why we need comprehensive sexual education in all school systems. So giving the floor to those of you who feel that abstinence only education is not only "working" at preventing teenage pregnancy and the rampant spread of STD's in our country but is better than teaching our children how to protect themselves. I am not saying that we can't teach both, in fact studies have shown that the best form of sexual education we can provide for our children and teenagers is a mix of abstinence and comprehensive sexually education. I know that for some people this can be a subject of great passion so put it all out there why shouldn't we do everything in our power to prevent our children from having children or worse contracting HIV.

  • Looking for a summer activity for my 4 year old son?

    Hello!

I am looking for a physical activity that my 4 1/2 year old son can participate in. Something that will teach him some discipline, dedication and generally have fun doing something physical so he can expel excess energy. Any ideas or suggestions?

I live in the Denver Metro area if you know of any activities in that area would be great but a general idea of what kind of things 4 year olds can participate in would also be very helpful.

  • Does it sound like he is married or in a relationship?

So first off I am not one to seek dating advice from the internet. I am also known for self sabotaging good relationships because I can I guess I don't know it is something that I do. I recently met and started dating this guy. And while everything is perfect, the chemistry is amazing everything is great. There are some behaviors that have me put off a little. For starts he says that he gets no signal at his house so we can't talk on the phone and have never communicated via the phone. While he has told me where he works, he hasn't really said much about where he lives and when I suggest we get together at his house he told me he was paranoid about people knowing where he lives. He has a Facebook profile with no picture and when I posted a picture of him he got rather upset about it. I am not sure if I am just being me and looking for a reason to bolt or if this is a legitimate thing to be concerned about. I will not be the other woman and I don't date married men so I am not quite sure what to think or what to do.

  • Weigh in I need help solving argument? Is sprinkle cheese "Real Food"?

My grandmother and I got into an argument today after I told my 3 year old son that he could only get a piece of candy if he ate all of his lunch. When he didn't I told him sorry no candy this time maybe next time and my grandmother starts going off about how sprinkle cheese is real food and I should go a head and give him a candy. In my opinion sprinkle cheese is a condiment not real food what do you think?

  • What would you think about only letting women vote on women's health issues?

I think that it would be a great idea to only allow women to vote on bills that effect women's health. The way I look at it is if you are a man pregnancy is something you will never have any idea about and men should not have the right to make a decision for a woman. And yes if you can think of an issue that only effects men I would be glad to give you the floor and say only men can vote on the issue but I couldn't think of one.

  • Where on earth do I start?

I have been suffering from serous depression for three years now. My entire life has fallen apart in the past few months. I have lost everything in my life and now I am not sure what I need to do to get back on track with my life. I except that i have a problem I need therapy and I will more likely than not need to take meds to get healthy again. Part of my depression has been complete isolation to the point that I really have no friends left and no one that I can really talk to. So I guess what I am asking is what steps have you or someone you known taken to make new friends and recover from depression? Thank you in advance for your responses.

  • How do I deal with my downstairs neighbors?

So I have the most obnoxious downstairs neighbors, I am not sure what their problem is but apperently they have super human hearing and the slightlest and I do mean slightest sound coming from my apartment and they banging on my floor. Now I know that I have been being loud a couple of times to merit a bang but they do it all the time, the other night I was in the bath tub, I was the only one home and the only sound at all was running water and they are banging on my floor. They bang on my floor when I vacuum, use my blow dyer, and I do all of the things during the day. They were banging on the floor yesterday at 3 in the afternoon when I was crushing up some dried onions on my counter. I don't understand I live alone and the guy who lives there to be quite honest scares me and I am not sure what to do I have tried talking to the landlord but apparently they have had a lot of trouble keeping my apartment occupied because of them so he really wont do anything and I am at my wits end I can not afford to move right now but at the same time I can't stand living under such disrespectful people.
