I am currently 5 days "overdue" with baby number 3, 4 centimeters dilated, with baby's head low in my pelvis, and went ahead and let the OB strip my membranes today in hopes of spurring on the birth process. Has anyone had this work for them, by starting labor within 24-48 hours of having this procedure done?

We're trying to settle on a middle name for Violet. Which do you like better, Violet Alanna or Violet Alexis?

I just asked everyone's opinion on Violet Rose, my husband's choice. How do you like Violet Capri, the name I'm liking today? :)

We're expecting a little girl and both agree on Violet as her first name. My husband wants Rose for the middle, but I'm not sure. What is your opinion?

My daughter has been complaining that her "butt is owie" for the past several days, but there seems to be nothing visibly wrong; no redness, irritation, nothing. I've put on Desitin in case her discomfort is topical, I've given her kid's Pepto in case she is having stomach problems and pressure. Nothing seems to help. She is quite gassy, and yesterday after hours of crying and fussing and screaming I finally sat her on the toilet and made her sit there and poop, and it was pretty large and hard (sorry, TMI). My best diagnosis is that she is constipated, how that can be I don't know, we eat healthy and she had half a broccoli crown herself at dinner last night. Any other ideas, any tips to help her discomfort?

I seem to have the same issues with any vacuum, so I'm starting to wonder if it's just me, laugh. It takes virtually nothing to clog the vacuum so that there is barely any suction, and the silly little "brush" is constantly entangled in hairs and threads. To be able to get adequate suction, I have to take the whole thing apart and pull out hand fulls and clumps of filth every other time I vacuum! I do not have extra large rooms, and with 2 kids and cats and dogs, I have to vacuum very often, so I just don't get why my machine is so inadequate at cleaning! What is your vacuum experience? Any tips, besides replacing all carpeted areas with hardwood? ;)

If so, how much, and did your baby seem to have any ill effects of such? Everyone tends to freak out about caffeine intake in pregnant women, but there are studies to be found that show some caffeine to be fine. Just curious what your experiences were!

Last night's dream was just awful. I dreamt I found this group of children, maybe 3 dozen, who had become ill with a seemingly incurable, very contagious disease, and had been abandoned by their parents in a makeshift orphanage/hospice. They were all laying in shabby bunk beds stacked 3 or 4 high, with a thin sheet as a covering and only got a scant amount o broth to eat. When I found them, I immediately began to help, get them food and make them warmer, but before I could do anything, I saw a golden angel, only about the size of a doll, appear and wake up one of the children, and then that child died. Then the same angel woke 4 more children who also died. All I could do was watch helplessly as these poor babies slipped away. As I was trying to help the others, there were more kids outside the building in the snow, banging at the windows to be let in, even though there had been nothing in this building that could help them. Once the remaining kids got real food and warmth, they started getting better right away. I gathered up the plates that had been set out for the kids who died and counted 16 and started sobbing that so many had died and I hadn't been able to help them.

What do you suppose this dream means, if anything? Why would I come up with something so heartbreaking? :(

A little more than a year ago I begged my husband to let us get a puppy. My reasons for wanting a dog were to have my then 3 year old son grow up with a dog, figuring they would wear each other out, wanting extra protection as my husband had just recently began night school, leaving me home alone with our two babies until late into the night every day, companionship and the fun of going on walks, playing in the yard, etc. Well, since then, we acquired a second puppy, and I now have two canine "beasts of darkness" as I call them. They are not bad dogs, they are well trained, they are, just by their very nature, grotesque. I never knew how heinously gross dogs are. Now instead of enjoying the fulfillment of my reasons for having dogs, I seem to see zero positive points to this relationship. I pay a goodly sum to feed these beasts just to scoop it up later, and there seems to be nothing more in between. As much as I am not enjoying these creatures, I would feel terrible if I gave them away. I am determined to get something more out of this canine/human relationship, so how do I overlook all the disgusting-ness that is a dog, and enjoy them as a pet?

I want and need to research the Bible myself, but I thought perhaps someone out there could give me a jump start in the right direction to finding out the answer to whether or not you are able to loose salvation after you've accepted it. In one passage the Bible states "No man can take you out of my Father's hand" yet in another, Christ talks about blotting names out of the book of life. What's your interpretation, and where else can I look for answers?

We have a daughter named Keira Scarlett, who goes by both names, and who I prefer to call Scarlett. :) We found out yesterday that our baby due in June is a little girl as well, and we both really love the name Violet. Would that be odd?

In September I was given a speeding ticket in a school zone speed trap, despite the fact that I was vigilantly watching for the upcoming trap after having been warned by my parents who lived in the area, and was NOT driving the speed the officer "clocked" me. I am fighting the ticket. As per the written instructions on the ticket itself, I expected to go into court on the date listed (November 10th) and have the matter resolved one way or the other. Instead, after driving the hour and a half drive into the small town court house, I was informed I could go ahead and pay the hefty fine, which had now accrued an additional 50 dollars for the sake of getting to walk into the court building, or I could schedule a date to go to trial at some distant point in the future. I choose the latter, and the court determined the date to be January 21st at 8am. Last week I received via certified mail, a "Motion to reschedule/continue", filed by the deputy who issued the ticket and who would have to appear in court. My question is this, would it be in my best interest to object to said motion, being as how it is EXTREMELY inconvenient and verging on impossible to undo the arrangements I have already made and go about remaking them to accommodate the court's selected date, or should I leave it alone, and allow more time to pass between the date of the alleged infraction and the actual time before the judge? Does it matter either way? Am I just doomed because this is a school zone speed trap money maker in a small town? :/

When you were a kid, did you think your mom was pretty? I remember being as young as 4 or 5 and thinking my mom was beautiful, and I loved how her hair would get wispy at the end of the day :) Just curious if anyone else thought that!
