  • I have been providing childcare from home for the last 8 years. Need help with writing a resume?

I have been working from home for the last 8 1/2 years providing childcare. I was a licensed on the books provider. I handled money coming in and out, banking, purchasing supplies. All aspects of the children's care...diapers, feeding, arts and crafts, field trips etc.

Before that I worked at a daycare center for 8 years as a head teacher. I have my associates degree in liberal arts. I am trying to write a resume for the first time. I am having a hard time. Any advice or helpful words would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • How do I write a resume when switching from owning a business to another job with no experience?

Hello! I have been in the child care field for 16 years. I worked in a daycare center starting at 15 and worked my way up to head teacher working there for 8 1/2 years. I started a small in home daycare which I have been running for the last 8 years. Prior to my daycare work I worked as a cashier at McDonald's.

I have received my associates degree and have several classes towards my bachelors degree in education.

I am now looking for a job in an office, doing some type of clerical work. Most job postings that I have come across ask for a resume with a cover letter. I am afraid that I will not find a job because I have no real work experience. I also have no idea what to even write on my resume, to make my childcare experience look like I have accomplished something. I want a company to know that I am a hard worker, self motivated, a fast learner and that I will be an asset to their business.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • bearded dragon has a burn on its back?

My bearded dragon somehow moved the large stick that is in its cage. Most likely to climb up closer to the light. He now has what I think is a burn on his back. Does anyone know if there is anything I can put on him to treat this burn. There aren't any vets in our area that treat lizards so, I figured I would see if there are any lizard experts out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  • I was going to school for teaching but....?

I am never going to be able to finish my degree. I have already earned my associates and am more then half way to my bachelors degree but, I will not be able to afford to take a year with no pay to do student teaching. *I have three young kids* And then just to have to continue school to get my masters within 5 years.

Currently, I am providing childcare from home. My youngest daughter is 2. So it is working out for now but I have been doing daycare for 13 years and my heart is just not in it anymore.

Anyone have a suggestion on a career that I could pursue that would bring in a good income, with a small amount of schooling? Possibly using some of the classes I've already completed. Maybe an online degree program? I'm not looking for a lazy job just something that will get me out of my living room, interacting with people while making a good amount of money.

Right now I am bringing home between 500.00 to 900.00 dollars a week. I know that it will be hard to find anything comparable but...I figure it would be great to try! HELP! PLEASE!!!!

  • I need advice...I think I just got scammed...Help?

I saw an ad posted on Craigslist for a lady who does in home daycare photograpy. She takes pictures of them individually and as a group. She charged $20.00 up front per child. *payable to her name and guaranteed the pictures to be in with in a week.

First I thought she no showed me because she was supposed to be at my house a 9:15 am. And never showed. She emailed me at 12:50 saying that she got lost etc... Basically I told her that I needed her to come anyway because I had 8 dressed toddlers whose parents were expecting them to be having picture day.

So, she came and took pictures and left with $120. First she sent me some pics through email that were terrible. I told her that if that was all she had then I wanted a re takes done or the parents money back. Then she started sending me pics that were okay.

Finally about a week ago I spoke to her *email* and she said that the pictures were being printed. I have not heard from her since. I called the numbers she left me ...one is disconnected and the other I leave messages on with no reply. I have emailed her twice a day since Friday. No response. I'm hoping that I am going to check the mail and have the pictures be there but I feel like its not going to happen.

Even though she has a business name I do not think that she is a real business. If I do not get any photos from her what should I do? The parents paid her for portraits and I am going to look so stupid if she does not send them to me. Then I will have to reimburse the parents their money out of my own pocket. I know that I should have choosen someone a lot more professional and I learned from my mistake already. BUT...WHAT DO I DO NOW? I was able to pull up her address and home phone number online...but she didn't answer and has no machine. From a legal stand point is there any thing that I can do? Or am I just out $120.00 Is there anyone that you may know that I could contact about her? Thanks for reading...any oppinions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Anyone ever feel that your babysitter......?

Is not doing enough? What do you expect from someone *a teenager* that is babysitting for your children? I feel that I am paying a lot of money and coming home to a mess that I have to clean before I can go to bed?

For example...I cooked the kids mac & cheese before going out. the kids were eating when I left. The babysitter left the pot with the left over food in it on the stove, high chair not cleaned or put away. No dishes done..etc.....

Is it too much to ask for .....My question...Do you feel that the babysitter is required or SHOULD clean up the house such as picking up kids toys, doing dishes *only ones used while they were in charge* etc...

I feel that they should and that it is really lazy to be sitting on the couch when I come home with all the kids in bed and nothing cleaned up! She had several hours with nothing to do *kids were in bed* What do you think? What do you expect from you sitters?
