  • Sound-proofing in a rental?

My husband and I are looking for our own place, but its been difficult because we've only been looking for rental homes, which there aren't many of in our area. We haven't really been able to consider apartments because my husband is a musician and the close proximity to neighbors will prove to be a problem. Is there a temporary but effective way to sound-proof an area without potentially losing our security deposit?

  • Public School, Private School, or Home School?

My husband and I don't have children yet, but this topic came up the other day while we were talking. He went to public school his entire life, grew up in a difficult home, and didn't have much growing up. He thinks that a public school education is just as good as any private school. I, on the other hand, feel completely different.

I went to private school for most of my life (until high school), and I feel that I had a better education there than in high school. He thinks I'm being a "snooty elitist" and that having our children in private school will turn them into "snooty elitists" as well. I'm just concerned about them getting a great education.

On a different note, we were both teased all through school, like K-12, and, obviously, we are concerned for our children, and want them to enjoy their school years. So, in comes the home school suggestion. We like this idea because it allows us to give them a great education, and they wouldn't have to worry about bullying. BUT I would still want them to have the opportunity to socialize, make friends, and being around kids their own ages. So as usual, all options have pros and cons. I just wanted to know anyone else's opinion or comments about this. Thanks.

  • Bridal Party Issues, Help!?

This has not been a very long engagement, and I told my bride's maids from the beginning that if they agreed to be in my wedding, I needed their help. Now my maid-of-honor has become rude to almost everyone, and just plain unpleasant to be around. Her boyfriend, who happens to be a groomsman, is not helping at all. he's being as much of a diva as she is. She now refuses to help with any pre-wedding planning, including shopping for her own dress. They are both demanding that we change other party members and guests because they don't want to be around those people. I'm already up to my ears in unneeded stress, and don't need their self-serving attitudes. I've talked to my fiance' and he says he's doesn't know what he wants to do about it. The thing about this that bothers me the most is that she is my cousin. My own family being so selfish that she will not help me or hold her tongue and act like an adult for a few hours so that everything can go smoothly. The wedding is at the end of April. I want them both out, but I don't want any hard feelings, and I don't know if I can replace them on such short notice. What do I do?

  • Which middle name sounds better?

    Which middle name sounds better?

    Aurora Rose Cullen

    or

    Aurora Piper Cullen?

I like Rose better, but my husband thinks its sounds to old fashioned and likes Piper better. What do you think?

  • Married People: Did you plan your own wedding?

We just got engaged about a month ago. The planing is already making me want to throw my stupid planning books across the room and say "Screw it. We're going to Vegas!" How do I plan this thing without losing my mind?!

  • Why do I need two rings?!?

My fiancé doesn't seem to understand that I really don't need an engagement ring. The way I see it, the money he wants to spend on a ring could be spent on something more essential to the wedding or even put into savings. I mean, why do I need two rings when he only needs one? And how do I get this through his thick, stubborn, silly skull?

  • Will the hype blow over eventually? (baby name)?

Little girls think about names that they would like to name their own children someday. As a child, I always loved the name Isabella for a girl. I still do and i want to name my daughter Isabella. BUT, my fiance's last name is Cullen. Which is a huge problem. Her name would be Isabella (Bella) Cullen, and I don't want my daughter to have to deal with people constantly making a Twilight reference out of her name. I would expect that the Twilight hype would blow over by the time she would reach school age, but I'm unsure. I'd really appreciate anyone's opinion on if I should still give her this name.
