  • Another "how to tell your parents you want to live with your boyfriend" scenario.?

K, so I've been with my boyfriend for 5+ years.

I'm 20, and we live about 2.5 hours apart. We want to get an apartment together in San Jose, as I want to go back to school there (I went to SJSU for 2.5 years, came home for this spring semester but want to go back and give my major a shot again. I was doing art there... kind of got confused, so i did some pre-reqs for nursing here.) I'm genuinely not happy here anymore. I live with my dad, my parents are divorced and got their own lives going on.

I work and that's it. My social life is gone since I graduated high school (friends moved on).

I was legitimately happy this past fall semester as I made a few friends.

Anyway, I want to move in with my boyfriend and he wants to move in with me. We've been long distance for so long, and we've been together for so long we both think it's time to start a real life together (not just during when I'd go for school... to the bay area that is, which is where he lives).

I just don't know how to break it to my parents. My dad flipped and didn't talk to me for 2 months because I wanted to go and stay with my boyfriend for one weekend (for practical reasons). They insist that I should just go visit for the day and drive back. They are pretty traditional. My mom essentially called me a "whore" in more polite terms because I "disrespect myself" but all she cares about is her reputation to her family. She compared me to my cousins , who are either older and married or are young like me, but act a lot more disrespectful (posting pictures of them making out with their boyfriends on facebook? are you kidding?). I'm very private about my relationship, as I didn't tell my parents for about 3 years (I met the guy online... you know parents worried about pedophiles and the like.. we were friends for the longest). At this point i'm past that, and just want to be happy. Albiet neither of my parents are perfect. My mom has been with a loser for the past 5 years who barely has any relationship with his kids and almost freeloads off her. My dad is with this woman with 4 CHILDREN (16-25 years of age, but all are attached to her tit still), and if they want to be concerned with people like that, who are they to judge on my boyfriend.

I'm more concerned of how to break it to my dad. He has high-blood pressure, and when he flipped (not literally.. he was just pissed and didn't talk to me at all) about me wanting to go visit my boyfriend for a weekend, I don't know how he'll handle this. I plan on leaving at the end of summer, sometime in August before the fall semester starts.

It's more about my overall happiness rather than just wanting to live with him.

Truthfully, he wants to take care of me and see me happy. I'm planning on being a full-time student, and he's completely fine with covering the rent, so long as I can find a job to cover smaller expenses. He works a full-time job as a store manager.

I've already compiled in my head most of my arguments in case my parents try to twist anything back at me, but I'm more concerned as to the "age" thing. He's 25, by the way. But on my part, people are going to say "20 is too young". I just need to know how to combat that argument.

I'm not sure their thought about living with someone before marriage, but honestly I'm too young to get married and would rather experience being with him first than just straight out marrying him (which isn't going to happen any time soon).

I think I'm a fairly mature person and would like some input / advice.

  • at home waxing kits & waxing mediums?

Yesterday when I went with my room mate to get her lips and brows waxed, I was surprised at how not painful it looked (like the stereotypical loud Pull of the paper off the skin and then scream!)... so I was considering getting a waxing kit myself.

I still need to try waxing out to see if I like it, but I don't want to spend $35 every 2 weeks to get myself waxed. What the esthetician(sp?) used was SOY BEAN wax, but I couldn't find any info on it.

So, does it matter what kind of wax medium to use, and should I give a go at buying a home kit, that is if I like waxing. It looked relatively painless (although it probably isn't), yet I think it'd be a better investment. Thoughts?

  • Melt down soap to a thick consistency?

    Hello there.

I want to melt down some of my soap to a thick, yet watery consistency (kind of like peanut butter).

I bought some african black soap in bars, and I want to put some of them into a small tub, but I want it to remain on the thicker side.

I'm not trying to make another bar of soap. I'm trying to achieve how the soap looks in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaBQTM_VW7c

I know she said just to add water, but is there any other way to achieve this?

I'm thinking I should grate the soap and melt it down with a double- boiler.. but what's next?

  • small white bumps on inside of lip?

So I have these white bumps on the inside of the lip. The first lump (on the right of the picture) originally came as a small cyst or something. It was hard and puss filled, not painful. So I numbed it and popped it with a needle. But it has popped and filled a few times, not going away. It pops on it's own too. I've had it for like 2 weeks.

Then recently those two bumps on the left came up. I thought they were just little vessels on my lip, but then they started to get painful. I've taken pictures. I can't quick figure out what this is? They aren't too painful, but they burn when I brush my teeth.

Is this a cause for concern?

    I don't have STDS.

  • 65 ford mustang won't stay idle?

I've done some research & found some different answers.

Here's the details: my car has been fairly faithful since my dad got it for me. Aside from it always on the brink of overheating after about 5 miles of driving in the heat, now my car won't stay running when I start it.

It starts up, but idles about 3 seconds before slowly shutting off. I have to hold the gas pedal for it to warm up, but even that doesn't work. When I put my car in reverse or drive, I literally have to almost slam the gas for it to actually jump & move. I have to hold the gas or else it won't stay on. It will shut off on me if I come to a stop. It'll stay on after a while, but that's usually once I get off the freeway from a 4 mile drive to work.

What could this be? My car is all stock. & how much would an estimate be for repairs. I'm a girl so I don't know much about cars but i wanna tell me da a more confident answer rather than him researching it.

  • can i get a bartending job although i'm not 21?

    The probably answer is no.

But have any of you had any luck getting a bartending job although you aren't 21?

I'm so tired of not being able to find a job, that I just *thought* I may ask this question.

I always see bartenders for hire, it makes me sad that I'm not old enough to work for these places, but I know that SOME do under the counter type stuff.

    Thanks

  • should I wait to sell my text books?

I recently got out of college and I wanted to sell my books.

I bought the books used on half.com and planned to re-sell them on that website.

But the prices now have significantly dropped for all my books.

My brother told me i should sell now before a new edition comes out.

but i was thinking that the reason why the prices were so low was because there are so many students who are coming out of college and they want to sell their books too, causing a pricing competition.

i was wondering whether i should wait until school season comes back again or should i sell now?

i just want to get back at least half the money i spent on these books, but the prices currently guarantee me only like a quarter.

    x___x

    thanks!

  • Will getting my cat fixed prevent him from disappearing?

I'm kind of at my whits end with trying to help my cat.

He is a male cat about 3 years old, and for the past year or so he's been dissapearing a lot. That's okay, but not when it's for a week at a time.

On top of that he is always getting into fights with other male cats on the block and having coming home with large wounds.

I'm afraid he will be scared away or run away like all my other male cats, so I want to protect him or something. My dad and neighbors noticed he is a lot more gittery and seems scared when they try to approach him.

So i was just thinking if i get him fixed, maybe he wont want to fight over territory or something.

i'm just worried im going to lose him too. so i want to do anything to keep him decently safe or healthy and happy.

he used to be a happy cuddly cat but now he really isnt. he just wants to get outside whenever we let him in, and he used to be around me all the time.

  • try to get iphone replaced, is this too much of a stretch?

So basically, I've had my iphone for over the 1 year warranty.

I THINK my battery has finally died. I plug it in and my computer reads my phone, but it doesn't charge it.

The thing is, I don't want to have to pay for the new battery if I can avoid it. I will if I must, but here is why I don't think I should.

I've had 3 problems with my phone. Yes, I have dropped it, but the problems did not occur just after the fall. They occured months later.

For one, even if i put my phone on silent, the phone would still ring, and it would go wacko. my phone would be on silent, but switch back and forth on it's on for like 5 seconds really fast.

so silent, not silent, silent, not silent. it buzzed a lot.

The second problem was that my earphone jack would mess up. I would take out my earphones and my iphone would still read as if i had my earphones in it. I would have to manuever the earphones in a way for the iphone to read that they were not in.

and now recently my speakers started to crap out on my once in a while. the only time i would use them is for the phone, and not music, so I wasn't expecting them to do this.

Now I've only been to the apple store for the first problem, and they really didn't fix anything. i didn't feel like i should even go for the other problems since they wouldn't help with the first problem.

I can't prove it to them now, since these incidents were occasional.

But would they give me the benefit of the doubt and not charge me for a new phone, and give me a refurbished one?

  • can hpv / genital warts be passed down from birth?

I've got a friend who has white bumps on his scrotum that he has had from birth. He says his father has them too supposedly.

So to rule out the possibility, can HPV (human papilloma virus) or genital warts be passed on from birth, or are these things only contracted from sexual intercourse.

  • Can someone give me some ideas for a scientific / religious paper?

I'm a college student and I have an assignment to write a paper either about science or religion.

I have to pick a specific topic and the only one I could really think of at the time was the history of scientology, but it really doesn't seem all the interesting to me.

Other options I heard my teacher say to others was cloning or euthenasia.

So I was wondering if anyone had any topics on science or religion that can be narrowed down into 3-4 pages.

It could be anywhere from controversial issues, to history, and comparing / contrasting two ideas.

I don't really want things that are too complex that I don't even understand what I'm writing about. x____x

thank you in advance for your suggestions

  • Is it okay to put the powdered fiber in my cereal?

I just recently purchased some powdered fiber, and unfortunately, it tastes and smells horrible.

Yesterday was the first time I drank it, and I could barely get it down without gagging at least once.

Today I put my fiber in a small bowl of cereal with milk to see if it would possibly lessen the intensity of the flavor.

Is it okay to do this? Or would I actually get less of the fiber since it's in the milk and cereal?

  • How much money should I be spending for body detox?

Recently I just fell upon detoxing on the internet.

I'm really looking to do a full body detox for all the health benefits, because I REALLY believe my body needs it considering all the symptoms that I have for just a parasite detox alone.

    I wanted to do this:

    Parasite Cleanse

    Kidney Cleanse

    Colon Cleanse

    Liver Cleanse

I found a kit on ebay that is priced at $60 for a full body detox, but I'm unsure if that is too much.

Could you possibly give me some general prices that you have spent on your detoxes, whether it be just one or all of them, and a list of the ingredients you purchased.

For the parasite detox, it's generally black wallnut husk, wormwood, and cloves, but i want to see what you have purchased other detoxes.

This would be my first time so I'm trying to go for a decent deal without having to hastle in purchasing all the sorts of capsuls & herbs if I can avoid it by buying a kit.

  • antibiotics for cats? bathing a cat with scabs?

Lately, my male cat has been getting into a lot of fights with another male cat around the neighborhood, and he constantly is getting scabs.

There is one in particular that was a little alarming to me, because it produced a really large bloody scab, so I was assuming that the cut must be pretty big.

I don't think that it is necessary to take him to the vet for, but i was curious if there was any antibiotic cream or something i could buy for him since he is constantly getting scratches.

Also, i was curious if it is safe for me to bath my cat when he has these scabs. he is an active outdoor cat, and i think that him being out in the dirt and the scabs have caused him to smell really bad, so i wanted to bath him.
