any suggestions on a northern Indiana vacation?
Hello, I'm wanting to take a short vacation and we're considering running up to northern Indiana. maybe the first day check out the Duesenberg and football museums in South Bend, then perhaps Notre Dame and the river walk, then the next day head over to the dunes national beach, then maybe on to Chicago.
Is there anything I need to catch in that part of the state?
is 1 day in South Bend enough?
Is 1 day enough for the Dunes National lakeshore?
How is the swimming there in July/August
Are there any neat boat tours out on the water?
Would Lake Erie be a better lake to visit?
any other suggestions?
thanks
Steven

I have a bald faced hornet nest under my garage awning. I was contemplating if I should remove them or leave them be, but came home the other day and something had ripped into the nest and ran them off. I assume it ate a bunch of them and the rest of the nest moved on to a better home. It had to have been a bird as high at it was. I'm curious, what would attack and eat these hornets like that?
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoSouth Bend Indiana what to see?
I'll have an evening in South Bend Indiana. What should I see? What local restaurants are really great? I may not get in after 5 so that preludes the studebaker museum and collage football hall of fame as they close at 5.
5 AnswersIndianapolis1 decade agostarter component home stereo system audio enthusiast stuff?
I'm interested in assembling a home stereo system. I'd like to start out on the cheap and upgrade components over time. A good start seems to be a receiver and speakers. Any advice on brands, pitfalls, where to get deals, and how to evaluate a component? Also, are vintage components OK or ever superior? Anything else to keep in mind? I'd like to keep my initial investment as low as I can.
1 AnswerHome Theater1 decade agoelectric furnace or more efficient propane furnace?
I am going to upgrade to a heat pump hybrid system and am concerned about my supplemental heating source for when the temps are below freezing. My options are a more efficient 97% propane furnace or an electric resistance type furnace. I suspect that propane will continue to go up in price probably faster than my electricity rates. Our electricity is about 9 cents a kilowatt hour. Propane is 2.28 a gallon. I live near Louisville KY climate zone 3.
