  • Setting aside a CCJ. All correspondence sent to wrong address. HELP!!!?

I became aware of a CCJ on my name when I was recently applying for a mortgage (now on hold) in December 2015. After enquiries, I’ve figured out that this was pertaining to a parking ticket during a holiday to Wales with the family in August 2014, when we made a trip to the Rheidol retail park in Aberystwyth. They posted the parking ticket to the wrong address as I had recently moved and DVLA hadn’t yet updated my address. I have applied to have the CCJ set aside and I have a hearing on Monday 7th March, 2016. I have spoken to Citizens Advice Bureau and Debt Line but they are both suggesting that I seek legal advice as they feel I may not have sufficient grounds to win this case.

  • Islam dressing code- views?

I have been considering reverting to Islam and have done quite a bit of reading on the internet, in the Qur'an and by speaking to Muslim people I know however there is just one topic so far that I'm finding hard to understand which is the dress code.

Growing up in England and being surrounded mostly by non-Muslim people, I have never really had any problems as to how people dressed unless it was to the extreme as I've always viewed a person's choice of clothes as their own. In my case, I dress the way I do because that's what I feel comfortable in and it's because of what I like and that includes skirts, tights and what some people would consider low-cut tops. However, being expressly told that I must dress a certain way or cover up a certain part of myself (not out of my own choice) makes me feel very restricted and for some reason, quite scared and panicky. I don't know if it's because I don't understand things fully but I seem to think that because I'm dressing for myself and not harming anybody intentionally in the way I dress, that it should be ok. Also, living in England, it's hard seeing people around me dressing in a way that I see as acceptable but yet so unacceptable in Islam and it makes me scared to think I could be so wrong but also confused because my understanding of this concept is so opposite to the understanding in Islam. I suppose I would feel that by changing how I dress and wearing something I didn't like that was very baggy etc, I would feel as if I was losing a part of my identity because I feel so comfortable in what I wear, it'd be as if I was casting off a part of me that was supposedly bad and I don't like that thought of throwing a part of myself away, although to some people such a thing may seem insignificant and unimportant.

How would you find it acceptable for a Muslim woman to dress in Western culture, specifically in England? Would you adapt to Western fashion or not consider it at all?
