ok i have a fridge that gives us water if we just click the button and people say we need to change the filter and my grandma never does and we've been drinking it for like years and nothing happens to us.im just curious what can we get sick?

i always get a clean bowl or plate (i dont really think it is) and i rinse it with hot water all the time and will that help remove bacteria on it?
