  • Feedback/opinions on a short poem?

    My LA teacher gave us a "creative writing assignment," and I wrote a poem. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    I saw the world through rose-colored glasses.

    Everything was soft and pink.

    No harsh lines. No jarring colors.

    I saw the world through rose-colored glasses.

    I took off the glasses for a short while.

    The lines were sharp and jagged.

    The colors were too vivid.

    I put the glasses back on.

    Someone took my glasses

    And jumped on them ‘til they cracked.

    The pieces lay scattered on the ground.

    I stared and cried.

    I see the world without my glasses.

    I don’t cry anymore.

  • I read a book when I was a kid, but I can't remember the title.?

    It was about a girl who got sent to a boarding school because her parents died (I think...) and her uncle was a lawyer. The only other thing I remember was she made friends with two other girls, but one of them died because she tripped and hit her head on the sidewalk. And then these other girls were laughing at her death. Sound familiar to anyone?
