  • Depression and issues with my dad?

So, to start off... lately I have been very depressed. I have dealt with depression since I was a young child. Since I was 3 years old I have moved constantly. I went to 10 different schools, lived in 7 different states and my parents divorced when I was 14. Growing up, my dad was never emotionally available to me. I have two older brothers and he was there more often for them, while I, being the only girl, was my mothers duty. When I began college, my dad did help me with a little bit of money and he's helped me here and there with money but we don't have a close relationship because he doesn't try to understand me. When I try to talk to him he either judges me or tries to control me. He doesn't ever just try to understand or empathize with my feelings. He has even smacked me a few times in the face and called me b**ch, whore, etc. Today we had a conversation and I brought up how I feel about him and how we don't have a close relationship. He said that he's always been there for me, which I stated was untrue. We argued about things and then he called me a selfish b**ch. Honestly, I have struggles and sometimes of course, I can be selfish. But I am care about people, even him, but I want to be able to express my feelings and experiences of my childhood with him, but he's always denying the fact that he wasn't a good father. He makes me feel guilty for even being upset with him about how he was never there. Does anyone else have this problem with their dad? How do I get past the depression of the broken relationship? How can I make him understand my point of view?

  • I'm am falling in love but...?

I met a man that lives pretty far away from me. Since he went back home we have been talking everyday. He calls me, texts me, e-mails me every single day and we talk forever about things I've never really talked to anyone about. We just really understand each other and we both have strong feelings developing. He has a great job and is going to come see me once a month for a few days... and from there we will see. I feel deep down that he is someone very special and could be my future. BUT I don't want to be too wrapped up in something that can't be that serious right now. I wanted to know if despite the fact that I am falling in love, should I date other people and live my life as I was before I met him? I just think that dating will help me decide if he is the one I want in my future, I don't want to miss out on anything and I don't want to be too blinded. Is it okay to continue to date other people until we are exclusive and can be together?

  • Why do my ex's always come back?

I have noticed that over my entire dating life, my ex's always seem to come back to me. They try to wiggle their way back into my life (or my pants) even if they were the one that ended it. Recently two of my ex's have been contacting me after nearly 6 month's of not talking to, or seeing either one of them. Why do guys come back to their old lovers???

  • Do you think humans are supposed to be married?

....or is it too much to expect that a relationship that is vowed to last for a lifetime (plus eternity - if you believe in that sorta thing) is even natural? In my mind, I am a different person from just 5 years ago so therefore, getting married and being in a state of evolution and change throughout your whole life, most would end up getting a divorce because they would have changed in such different and drastic ways...thoughts?

  • War against our politicians?

The constitution specifically states: "In the case of a government gone awry, it is not only your right but your duty to overthrow your government". This would be the American version of exactly what is going on in Libya and Syria. Our government is obviously corrupt, though in different capacities than the other countries currently in governmental turmoil and rebellion. American's seem to passively sit by as we all get tricked and stepped on. There's millions of American citizen's being held down daily by corruption that in turn decreases our way of life and how we are able to make money. Laws, restrictions and illegal actions taking place behind the scenes show just how crooked the American political system is. Instead of you, me and everyone else unaffiliated with the super rich and powerful in this country, shooting ourselves in the head because we can no longer pay our bills, feed our kids or simply feel any shred of happiness because of all the stress. Why don't the American people take a page out of the rebels book and start waging war, including shooting politicians, demolishing governmental buildings, etc...? Wouldn't that make them realize that their job is to serve the people....NOT **** us over! Maybe if we took a stand, they would stop serving the high interests of the rich who are paying for their political campaigns and their salaries.

I understand that fear is the main reason people passively lay on the tracks while the powerful politicians run their choo choo train right over our legs. I am in no way in favor of war but since the politicians DO NOT truly care to listen to the people...it seems the only way to better this country.

Leave your response. And please, be honest. No need for political correctness.

I am interested in finding out how people came to the conclusion that they would study a particular subject in college and find a certain career thereafter. Please state what your career is, how you decided upon that field of work and if you are happy with your choice.

  • How do you figure out what you want to do with your life?

I'm currently in school - studying psychology. I am very interested in both psychology and philosophy and I love to write. However, despite my knowledge of the facets of life that intrigue me... I still struggle with figuring out exactly which route to go...both professionally and personally. If anyone could shed some light on how you decided what you wanted in life or how you knew you were moving in the right direction?

Thanks for any and all advice on how to figure it out. :))))

  • Would you date someone from another country?

If you lived across an ocean, yet, had an intense connection (mentally, physically, spiritually - everything aligned) would you go for it?

  • He said he wanted to make love to me?

So, I've been dating this guy on and off for about 2 months. We get along really well. He always talks about how we are so compatible....yet, he has 3 jobs and is very busy with his real estate business. He was in a 7 year relationship that ended badly. It's been 2 years since that relationship and he said he hasn't been serious with anyone since because he wants to be 100% before beginning another relationship....which is very smart. I don't pressure anything and I know I need to figure out what I want in life before adding anyone to the equation. However, I told him that since I have feelings for him it's best that we cool it off a little and really become close friends first, despite the fact that we've already been intimate. When we did have sex, it felt like we were making love. He would stare deeply into my eyes, be very attentive and we both said that there was this intense connection. We haven't had sex for a few weeks but have hungout. Last time we saw each other he couldn't seem to keep his hands off me. He kept asking if I had other options and if I was seeing anyone else. He hugged me and said "I want to make love to you"...and I replied "but we're not in love so how would we make love?" and he said "we do love each other". I'm so confused by this. Please help with any insight. Thanks!

  • Guys (please answer): What's his issue?

I've been seeing this guy, Joe, for the past month and 1/2 and in the beginning we spent every weekend together and he called me nearly everyday. About two weeks ago something between us changed. At a party that I had at my place an acquaintance of ours was hitting on me a lot, I was not paying him any mind but he kept making comments and coming near me. I clung to Joe the entire time, so other guy would back off. Joe never said anything to the guy about hitting on me but as soon as everyone left Joe was like "wow, he was very aggressive towards you" then he seemed distant towards me. Also, I have a group of guy friends and girl friends that I hang out with and whenever I talk about hanging out with any of them he becomes pretty quiet. He will suddenly seem deep in thought or aloof. The past week after the first incident with the acquaintance, Joe and I haven't talked as much as we were before. I asked him what was wrong and why he wasn't responding the same way anymore and he said he was just busy and that he has been reflecting on things and that he really likes me. I'm so confused. Why does he say he likes me but seems like he's backed off a little bit?

  • Large breasts vs. Small breasts?

In my experience men tend to desire a woman with larger breasts, even if that means that she is not as attractive as a woman with small breasts. To me, breast size seems inconsequential to the overall attractiveness of a woman...but the media constantly portrays those with big boobs to be the better of the two. Guys, can you explain this way of thinking? Or possibly give insight into how a man perceives woman with large boobs vs. a woman with small boobs?

    THANKS BOYS!

  • Confronting an alcoholic?

I broke off a relationship with a guy who was an alcoholic.

I still want to be his friend and help him to see his issue.

I talked to him about his drinking problem and told him he needed to be honest with himself about it and seek help. He did not and will not respond to me now. Was I wrong and why is he ignoring me?

  • Guys: How would you feel in this situation?

I was with a guy for a couple months. He is a great guy when he is sober but has major issues with alcohol. The relationship was more than just physical, we connected and built a friendship. I called off the romance because I can't deal with his alcoholism, however, I still want to be there as a friend. Should I let it be know that I want to be his friend or will that upset him and make him feel like I am pitying him?

  • Should I dye my hair Dark Chocolate Brown?

My hair has been every color in the crayon box. I am currently very light blonde but I'm getting bored with it. I really love dark hair, especially black. However, I am light skinned and I don't want to look ghostly...should I dye it dark chocolate brown?

Thanks in advance for your input! :)

  • Dating an alcoholic...advice?

I have been seeing this guy for a little less than two months. He is intelligent, thoughtful and we sincerely have a connection. However, all of that goes down the drain when he starts drinking. He drinks and drinks until his true self is totally blurred and unrecognizable. He then is a bully in conversations, he won't allow me or anyone else to get a word in. He gets upset easily when something inconsequential happens.

He isn't physically violent but he's careless...he will walk away from me if I tell him he is drunk and needs to calm down. He will yell or just plain ignore me. Then, the next day he will call or text me with an apology. He will say he doesn't have any hard feelings against me...(why the hell would he? he was the one that did something wrong) and he will state that he really likes me and wants to communicate with me.

I hate the back and forth, the high and low. I told him I can't do it anymore but I feel really bad for him. I wish he would get help because he's a great guy when he's sober. What should I do?
