  • 2014 Prius Braking Problem?

It's widely known that the prius has had a braking issue where, when braking, and going over a bump at the same time, the brakes would suddenly give out for a split second subsequent to the regenerative brakes switching over to friction.

I complained to toyota about this recently, and they denied that it's an issue. Apparently, this issue was supposed to be phased out in 2010.

I've consulted other forums; however, peopel are just saying to press the brakes harder... which doesn't really work. Should I contact the attorney general? Any one else facing the same issue or has this issue not been addressed fully yet? I find myself stopping 5 or 6 car distance to prevent an accident.

  • Being black and trying to date?

We as black people are bottom tier when it comes to the dating pool.

Regardless if the dating is online or offline, it always seems that it's so hard to get someone to talk to you. Even as a friend.

People try to give me advice on what to do, but because they aren't a minority, I feel that their advice isn't always effective enough.

I'm seeing all of these articles on on how most races, especially whites, don't respond to blacks. There's all of this evidence, but there's nothing being done about it!

Also, there is no interracial dating site. These websites are dead, full of spam/fake profiles, and nobody uses them like they would Okcupid, Match or POF.

What are some of you fellow minorities doing to get sex, love and attention.... maybe without having to settle for something you otherwise wouldn't settle for if you had more choices?

  • What kind of advice is this?

A few years ago, I had just graduated from college and my uncle, a military veteran, thought he would try to be resourceful. He introduced me to a high ranking law enforcement official and another political figure.

Honestly, I found it very odd that he would do this given that I didn't have any sort of experience whatsoever.

During both meetings, after explaining what I thought my career choice was at that time, both men seemed puzzled that my uncle even set up the meaning.

The law enforcement official said he recommended that I apply as a trooper or patrol officer prior to applying to his federal organization and the political figure wondered what I thought would come from the meeting.

Long story short, both men hinted that the meeting was a waste of time and it seemed that they were just reluctantly doing my uncle a favor and just gave me whatever advice they could quickly think of.

    Thoughts?

  • Couch surfing?

Does anyone have experience with Couch Surfing? What about Couch Surfing in your own state, to meet new people? Is this allowed? I'm just looking for new ways to meet people around me. I understand this is usually for travelers... but I am attempting to think outside of the box.

  • Social introvert; difficulty meeting women? Difficulty socializing.?

I'm extremely introverted. I have trouble meeting new people and my job is primarily composed of women twice my age (I won't date someone that old). I've also given up on online dating, as it never works.

I've been struggling with this issue since childhood. I am 27 years old and I have never had a relationship last longer than a month. I still live with my parents, I suffer from depression, OCD, and anxiety.

If anything, finding female friends, as well as potential significant others has been the most difficult task I have ever attempted to perform. I don't have anyone to look up to or someone to direct me into a social situation, or to introduce me to someone I might like. I feel that I have no choice but to give up. A significant other can't just "happen." Especially not to someone who just has a difficult time getting out into the world. Please help.

  • My friend believes online dating is the only answer?

I believe my friend is unhealthy obsessed with finding women online. It's past the point where he's looking for love, it's his only gateway to find women he just wants to have sex with.

My advice to him was to socialize more with people he works with to find out how they found their girlfriend or wife. He refuses, and just limits his choices to whomever replies to his messages online. He even attempts to settle for someone he doesn't find totally attractive, but attempts to give them a shot only because they responded to his message.

How can someone limit their potential life mate to a response online? I understand online dating can work, but when that's your ONLY tool, and refuse to attempt to try to meet women the traditional way, that can't be healthy. Right?

  • Am I being too picky?

Usually, over the course of many years, I've been pretty picky about the kind of women I consider dating.

Some things I put into consideration are health issues, hygiene, goals and family.

One issue I've been deeming as a deal breaker is whether or not they have children. I'm 26 years old and despite me believing I might be too young to have children, it was the mere thought of being with someone who already has a child from a previous relationship. I worry about being second tier and her not spending enough time with me to build on a relationship because of the child. Or, her schedule being fulfilled with ultimately, her obligations to the child.

I'm probably passing up good women being this way, but with someone I recently met, I'm beginning to change my thoughts about it, almost instantly.

With the above-mentioned situation, what are some things to consider?

  • Can my computer play the Sims 4 on Ultra?

Also, is it possible for a computer monitor to be a bottle neck (stuttering, frame rate issues, etc, or no?) I have a 23 INCH 1080P LG monitor I purchased a while back in 2009.

The computer is from 2015, custom built.

    Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz

    8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1866MHz

    EVGA GTX 960 ACX 2.0 2GB

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

Is this more over-doing it for this game? What other games can I play without an issue?

  • Oral Hygiene and dating?

I often have an issue with women who don't have oral hygiene at the top of their priority list. Not too long ago, I ask a girl who I was talking to if oral hygiene was at the top of her priority list after noticing that her teeth were very chalky-looking.

She told me that she didn't floss at all, has not seen a dentist in years, but she brushed her teeth several times a day and also felt that she didn't need to flossing because it was time consuming and she thought she did an overall good job brushing. Ultimately, she admitted that it wasn't at the top of her priority list, which is sad, because she just created a deal breaker for herself.

This is sad because I spend an ample amount of time on my oral hygiene and some people think I'm shallow because I expect the person I'm dating to be up to par with that.

  • Contractor doing work on the house. Question!?

A friend of mine is new to home-ownership and is very skeptical about getting things done to his house. I referred a contractor to home in order to get some electrical and plumbing done.

Frequently, this contractor has a habit of running to home depot a few times for whatever reason. My friend said he feels he's really unprepared. Is this common? Or would a typical contractor have every single thing he needs in his truck depending on job size?

  • Black friend loves white women! Thoughts?

A friend of mine, who's black, obsesses, only likes to date, and treats exceptionally, white women. And when I mean likes, I mean he puts them on a pedestal and worships them like a God. He's not racist against his own race or others races, but he will not date anything other than white and just kisses the ground white women walk on. Any thoughts on this?

  • Difficulty in finding relationships.?

You know, some people on here are so lucky to have a person in which they're interested in or someone interested in them, or, even being lucky enough to be surround by people they find attractive.

I come from a world of misery, where literally all of my relationships have been internet based.

I went to a low income high school, so everything and everyone there was trash. Using the birth of Myspace (2005), I attempted to branch out to better situations; however, that never really worked out because I am not almost 30 and I have never experienced a relationship that barely lasted 90 days. From there, I've used countless other websites and I've found that 99.9% of women on there were in worse situations or were never really who they claimed to appear to be.

Out of all of the jobs I've had, I've never been pursued (like so many other guys) nor have I been accepted by women whom I've fancied. I mean this is ridiculous. I have cousins and friends who find women with ease and/or been in relationships that have lasted years. It just almost seems like nobody wants to be with me, nothing lasts, and I'm not good enough.

I've thought about suicide and just giving up on relationships altogether.

  • Questioning about receiving money.?

I have a question regarding receiving money from a family member.

My uncle says he's going to be retiring soon and may potentially file for divorce. He wants to make sure that his daughter, who is now a child, gets this money once she becomes an adult. Let's just say it's a substantial amount of money. Anyways, I understand that regardless of whether or not it's cash or a cashiers check, the bank will have to file an 8330... I think... which is cool! I just don't want to get in trouble for depositing/holding the money until his daughter becomes of age as a result of a potential divorce. I just thought this would be a good opportunity for me to earn interest on it.

My only worry is the the account would be potentially be frozen as a result of the divorce/paper trail. Is that possible? It's a small amount of money compared to the amount his wife will eventually get from his pension/retirement money anyways. I also want to make sure I'm within legalities. I mean, his daughter is entitled to something, right?

  • Health coverage question?

Hi everyone! I am a young 20 something who works in customer service. I still live with my parents because I cannot afford to live in my own. In fact, I might be well into my 30s before I m able to move out.

I have college loans, car payment, food, and other living expenses and amenities.

I understand I m not the only one struggling with the health insurance marketplace garbage... and more jobs being too cheap to offer excellent health insurance....

How does society, the government, or even the place I work for expect me to continue to work and be healthy if, after I pay all of my bills, pay for health insurance every month AND have a huge deductible and co-insurance bill?

I have the burden of having to pay a tax penalty and risking getting into an accident.... and then getting into medical debt... which only causes peril to tax payers and my eventual death.

Damned if I do, damned if I don t. What are my options? I could care less if I end up dying or something because of not being able to afford medical. I mean, my dad has a job where he pays a modest amount but has no deductible or co-insurance responsibilities! That s what the people need! I rather pay a higher premium then have a ridiculous deductible...

  • Qutting/re-applying job question?

I recently quit a job for another opportunity that went south. Long story short, I m unable to apply to that job again because they are no longer hiring.

Therefore, I know have to go back to the job I was at before I started working at the job that I quit.

How would I show that on a resume without it looking totally stupid. The prospective employers are going to see that I was only at the most recent job for seven months 2014-2014 and then I returned to the job I had prior to this job (I had no choice... I had bills to pay). How do I make this look less-stupid on my resume?

  • Friendly Deli Counter Lady?

So, one day, my dad walks into a deli. He orders some meat from a fairly young lady, late 20s. Upon him ordering some meat, she hints that she added a few more pounds of meat subsequent to labeling the meat for a lesser price. My dad, being in his 50s, seemed to be in an overwhelming state of glory as he arrived home in the telling of this story. He claimed it must have been the emblem on his jacket of where he worked; however, on the contrary, I told him that she probably thought he was good looking.

She even asked for a valentine from him at one point, but he is married, and obviously did not follow through. Next, one day, he ordered some meat over the phone, and told her that I would be the one to pick up the meat. As I walked to the meat counter, she immediately smiled, indicated that she knew immediately who I was, and said I looked just like my father.

She again, smiled, handed me the secretly discounted meat, I said thank you, and went about my way.

My question is, should I give her a thank you card?

I actually purchased a thank you card, with a small stuffed animal in a gift bag saying thank you for what she has done for my father and I, asking her out in the card and providing my number.

Am I wrong/right for doing this? My dad is married anyways lol.

  • Installing programs while running Windows Update?

Is it possible to install other programs while Windows updates are downloading/installing? Or, is this not recommended?

I'm asking this because all of these years, I have had windows update set to "Install updates automatically," and I believe there were definitely times where I've installed programs while windows update was doing its thing in the background. Is this the way it's supposed to be or is this not recommended. I mean, the common rule is when one program is installing, another program won't. Why isn't this the same for Windows updates?
