How to fix an AC unit, please?
We purchased a home with a central air unit, but the house has been vacant for 2 years and the air has not been used during that time. The unit does not power on when we try with the thermostat. The model number is CLK24-1F. We checked that it wasn't a blown fuse, but that is as far as I know what to look into. I am sorry to not have much more details on our problem, but I don't even know where to start with troubleshooting. Do you have any advice?

30 AnswersDiet & Fitness10 years agoWill a Realtor take me seriously if I ask this question?
My husband and I currently looking for a home. I personally am a believer in the possibility of the paranormal, and I would really hate to find myself purchasing a "haunted" house. If I were to ask my Realtor if there has been any reported paranormal occurrences within a particular property, would he take the question seriously? To any realtors on this site, have you been asked the question before? Did it lessen your respect of the credibility of your client?

My 7 month old daughter has been very gassy the last few days, and I have been thinking about trying the Baby Bliss Gripe Water. 1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoIs a little wine safe while nursing?
I am still nursing my 6 month old daughter. I know that women can have a small amount of alcohol while they are producing breast milk, but I personally have avoided it entirely. At Thanksgiving this year, I think I would like a glass of wine with dinner, and possibly a few sips of sherry with the desert. I want to be sure my milk is still safe for the baby, though. What is a good guideline for consuming a small amount of alcohol while nursing? How am I to know if my milk is safe?

My cat is a rescued animal who was abused as a kitten. As a result of the abuse, she has a very sensitive stomach with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. My vet and I have worked together to find what the cat will eat, and she unfortunately will only eat the junk cat food (canned friskies). At that, it needs to be the chunky variety with gravy, as she mostly just eats the gravy. This is what her tummy can handle. We have tried a raw diet for her, which did not work. I have also tried giving her Missing Link, but she will not eat her food if the ML has been mixed in. I also tried giving her some plain yogurt with the ML mixed in, and she would not eat it. With all of that said, here is my question:
I brought home our newborn daughter 6 weeks ago. Since then, our cat's behavior has not changed a bit. She is still friendly, sleeps in the same places, has not had any litter issues, has been eating her food the same... but she sheds unlike ever before. Her coat has lost its sheen and is now dull and oily feeling, and her fur is flying off. I am concerned for our child with so much cat hair in everything.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what might help this situation? Like I said, we really can not change her diet any further. I know that feeding her Evo or Pure Vita or other healthier foods should solve the problem, but we can not get her to eat it. Are there any other options?
3 AnswersCats1 decade agoPacifiers and breast feeding?
My 3 week old daughter has been crying frequently, and feeding approximately every 40 minutes. When feeding, she would eat a little bit but then just want to suck until she fell asleep. I would then detach her from the breast, she would sleep for a few minutes, wake up, and start over again.
Today my husband insisted on trying a pacifier, and she took to it. I am very nervous about this as I do not want to interfere with breast feeding at all. I also feel a little guilty, because nursing is not just for food; we as mothers are there to provide comfort as well, and I feel like I'm being replaced by a plastic nipple. So two questions:
1) Does the introduction of a pacifier interfere with a newborn's ability to breast feed?
2) Have any other mothers here experienced feelings of guilt and or remorse after introducing the pacifier?
