  • Can someone please help me find a publisher?

I am a first timer here. I know nothing about this process and I'm real scared I'm going to end up screwing myself. I don't have an agent and have very little money.

I have a novel of 500+ pages in the sci-fi/fantasy genera with a Greco-Roman mythology theme that takes a new spin on western civilization. Composed with inspiration from Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and The Avengers it has enough main characters that individuals of all race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality will have someone to identify with.

I appreciate any help or insight you may have. Thank you for your time.

  • Coiuld the MCU Defenders be in Captain America Civil War? Could Spider-Man be in the Defenders? A Spider-Man episode of Agents of SHIELD?

I know it seems like a lot, but in my civil war point especially, I was thinking more like "filling rank" for Cap's team. Not necessarily major players, but a little more than cameos.

As for Spider-Man in the Defenders; I realize that the show is the darker gritter telling of super-heroes, and in no way should interfere with spider-man getting his own movies. Yet Spider-Man is a street-hero who operates in the same city as Daredevil, Power Man, Jewel aka Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. Moreso than Cap not being in Iron Man 3 and Iron Man not being in Cap2, it would be really strange not to see Spider-Man hop in on the anti-Kingpin gang.

ANd as for SHIELD, I mean, duh, right? Why not? Spider-Man and Quake know each other in the comics.

Is there any word on such things? I think it would be cool to see.

  • Feminists: could Athena be a personified archetype of feminism if...?

she were a sexually active person?

I ask because I am writing a novel, and I'm using the Greek Myths as my backdrop. Really it is a parody on western civilization.

I have most groups in America represented in some manner or another using the ancient gods as the archetypes (ex: politicians and Zeus/rock stars and Apollo/Hephaestus and labor workers/sex symbols and Aphrodite).

I have conversed with feminists about female Olympians, and I get the general idea that none of them really represent you (ex: Hera taking out her wrath on Zeus' bastards instead of Zeus/ Hestia sitting back and letting her brothers take control/ Artemis denying womanhood and doing anything for her chauvinistic twin). I had always thought Athena was perfect representation of feminism (until I learned that feminism requires a sexuality)

So, my point: would you find Athena a good representation of feminism if I had it so that the Ancient chauvinistic Greeks only TAUGHT that Athena was a maiden because they couldn't wrap their heads around an independent, sexually active woman, but really she had been a sexual person the whole time? What do you think?

  • Christians; I have a theory. What do you think?

You ever seen that Ancient Aliens show? I'm beginning to aspire to it, under a Biblical lens.

    Hear me out:

In a couple places in scripture they talk about 'worlds' in a Hebrew plural (i.e. three-or-more). So its not talking about the spirit-world vs the physical world.

Genesis ch. 6 talks about angels coming down from heaven and having children with mortals. Among other feats, this shows that angels (though spirit beings/so are we btw) have physicality. In the book of Jude we see jude use the Greek word Oiketerion to describe the 'form' (I use that term loosely) that the angels "disrobed" in order to perform sex with mortals. We are often taught in seminary that Oiketerion means 'house' or 'habitation', but when the Ancient Greeks used the word 'body' was an equally befitting word (ex: Zeus took the Oiketerion of Amphitrion to have sex with Alcemene and sire Hercules). Oiketerion is the word used to describe what we Christians "yearn" for in the Resurrection (a restoration to our bodies). It is said that in Heaven we will be like the angels.

Okay, now on to Ezekiel and Kings. In both books we see angels coming to and leaving earth in fiery chariot-like craft and wheels-within-wheels craft.

Stepping away from what sci-fi has taught us about aliens; isn't it probable that extra-terrestrial intelligence are the angels spoken of in the scriptures? If aliens did really exist, wouldn't their purpose in an Elohim-created universe be to minister unto humans? Thoughts?

  • ALL Christians; what's all the taboo over Angels?

I am keenly aware everybody is nervous about approaching celestial beings too fervently, lest we inwardly start to worship them; I get that.

Yet I have real trouble finding a good christian community who wants to take intellectual discussions about angels seriously. When I look out at the world and what is says about angels i find that pagans have a monopoly on the subject, when I read them I can clearly see Satan filtering the truth to his own ends. What few Christian Angelology literatures are out there are repetitive; mere fact books copy and pasting biblical points in a different order.

What few testimonials of angelic encounters are out there are often met with criticism WITHOUT conferring with scripture beforehand. We all say that we should take the Bible literally and seriously; does that not mean angelic encounters are not real? Why do we never discuss this as the Body of Christ? Why do we leave it to the secular world?

Chuck Missler is the closest I have ever found to a deep look at our spiritual allies; and piece together what we can learn of them by observing the scriptures and the natural world around us (the 3-part series is on youtube if you're curious). I ask because my personal relationship with Christ has been highlighted by many angels along the way; every last one of them pointing in His direction, and I'm getting the feeling that we can start making a comeback in the world for Christ through them, if we only took faith on the matter.

  • Protestants: what's all the taboo over Mary?

I'm not a Catholic. At all, but I find your disregard for Mary a bit... inappropriate. I'm not saying any form of worship needs to be established or anything like that AT ALL, but what I am saying is I have been to numerous Protestant services in my life any the vast majority of you either a) never mention her by name, b) mention her reluctantly or c) downplay her role in the cosmic drama.

I read the OT and I see the ancient Israelites giving a golden box more honor than you give a human woman with the most important human job Elohim had available. (Like the arc of the covenant, she bore the priesthood, the bread of life, the Word of YHWH and the tree of Life).

Scripture states that she is the "Highly favored one" and "blessed among women". When I think of Mary, my thoughts go straight to Elohim. (She does our job better than we do... and she's not even here!)

So what's with all this taboo? WHen I try and start a convo with protestants about her everyone wants to jump ship after they establish "she was an important woman and Jesus' mom." No one ever wants a Miriology discussion in protestant churches. What gives?

(I realise that I have not met with/struck convo with every protestant in the world; which is why I am asking on here)

  • Hypothetical; Atheists if you met an alien....?

If you met an alien, or race of aliens far more advanced than us, yet reported that they believed in one all-powerful God, identified this God with the Judeo-Christian God, based on the premise that Genesis ch 1 was a mirror of their own opening verses, and their holy book included the doctrine that there was a sexually reproductive race Created by said God that had disobeyed said God and needed a Messiah (i.e. their God) to rectify the issue, and to even further prove their point, show us a hologram of their God, which turns out to be a human man, who looks awfully Jewish, with holes in his side, wrists, Achilles' tendons and across his forehead.

Now HYPOTHETICALLY what would this signify to you? I have spend a lot of time thinking about the reverse scenaio with atheist aliens, and what it would mean for me. I will share my thoughts with the answer I think to be the most honest. PS Yes, I believe the above scenario is possible, but more than likly aliens are like us and divided on the issue.

  • DC comics question; new 52 Hawkman info?

So did they fix him or not? Does his origin finally make sense? I've read the 1st 3 volumes of Justice League and now the 1 st JLA. I like what theuve done with Wonder Woman ( costume and demigoddess-hood) and Aquaman (the pretty boy trying to be the gruff and tough guy, I love it! The sideburns were a nice touch). So I'm interested in picking up Savage Hawkman, and I'm wondering if its worth it. I'm none too concerned with spoilers, I'm more concerned with his origins are legit to the character, make sense in a closed universe. One of my favorites as a kid. Just wanna make sure its worth it.

  • Michael and Gabeiel; why these guys?

What purpose does it serve to YHWH's plan if Glory to mentionthese two and only these two angels in the scriptures. What makes Michael and Gabriel stand out from the other ministers of salvation? How are they MORE relevant to our salvation than the other created immortals?
