  • recent blood test results?

Just wondering if anyone can help, have recently had a blood test and I was told my overall white blood count and neutrophils are low and the lymphocoytes are just slightly above the lowest level they should be.

I was told that the readings were:

White blood cells 3.4 (was told should be between 4 - 11)

Neutrophils 1.6 (was told should be between 2 and 7.5)

Lymphocytes 1.4 (was told should be between 1.3 and 4)

I have had a low vitamin b12 level and was given tablets to take which boosted the levels from 150 to 289, and internet research suggests a connection between b12 levels and neutrophils, but wondering if there's a connection with the others too? Is this something I should be concerned about or is it quite common for a 30 yr old female to have such levels?

Thanks in advance for sensible answers!

  • Downloaded Apps on Nokia 5800?

I'm really confused because I downloaded an app that I really wanted then think I may have deleted it by mistake. Anyway now it won't let me download it again (presumably because it thinks I already have it?) so I checked my settings and it's definitely not saved anywhere on the phone/memory card. Because it still wouldn't let me download it, I formatted the memory card (presuming this would erase all trace of the app and let me start from scratch) however it's still not letting me get this and I don't know how/why and what I can do now to be able to download it again. It's a free app from the Ovi store if that helps explain things? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this!!

  • Help writing a letter?

The situation is that I would like to claim compensation from a train company due to an accident while onboard a rail replacement service.

In the first instance I've been advised to write into them and I don't have a clue how to word things and wondered if there is someone out there kind enough to help.

    The scenario is:

It was late on a Saturday evening and the journey I was undertaking was from Dalton in Furness to Manchester Piccadilly. It involved a train from Dalton to Grange over Sands, then a rail replacement from Grange to Lancaster, a rail replacement from Lancaster to Preston and finally a train from Preston to Manchester. I was rather impressed that there were people at the station waiting to direct you to the relevant coach, as this isn't really something I've encountered before. However on the first rail replacement service from Grange to Lancaster, the driver was (in my opinion of course) driving far too fast, taking corners too sharply and I was rather unnerved by the journey. On the second rail replacement service from Lancaster to Preston, the driver observed the speed limit and I felt safe onboard, until the vehicle hit and went over a deer, presumably killing it. Due to the impact, the vehicle went off the road and credit to the driver who got us back on track and we didn't end up in a ditch or whatever.

My issue with this is a) it was late at night and for a young woman travelling alone this was quite distressing. b) the driver only spoke to one chap who was sat at the front of the coach (I was only about 3 rows back) and asked if he was ok, but didn't talk to anyone else about it to check how they were (and there were only about 5 or 6 people onboard so wouldn't have taken him ages to speak to me and the others, and even if he didn't want to speak to us all one by one, he could have made a group annoucement or something) c) at over 6 foot tall, I bashed my knee into the back of the seat infront and ended up bruised and with a swollen ankle and had to take time off work as a direct result and d) I do have a lot of abdominal issues (some diagnosed, awaiting further tests for pain) and this (as I was wearing just a lap-belt,....all they had onboard) made my conditions a lot worse and my GP had to increase my medications again as a direct result. I think if I mention about the abdominal problems they will argue I wasn't fit to travel, which wasn't the case - I mean being involved in something like this isn't what one would expect to happen. It was a little treat for myself after having undergone surgery 5 months before, while awaiting further surgery, and I went to a wild animal park and had a great day out but the events of the journey home seem to really have ruined the fun. I'm not after a huge amount of compensation, but I definitely do want the price of the tickets back (about £23) and ideally a little more ontop.

But I'm struggling in terms of what to say and what not to say, and also how to word it too, so any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

  • Have you had a laparoscopy / hysteroscopy?

I'm going into hospital tomorrow for both (although it may not be going ahead because I've been poorly with a cold and understand there could be implications with giving me a general anaesthetic) but just wondering who's had one or both of these, and for any information you can give from personal experience. I have read a few factsheets on the procedures but find it beneficial to get first-hand information from women who have knowledge of this and the subsequent recovery too.

  • Recording on to DVD from laptop?

I have a DVD recorder which is fixed up to my v+ box so that I can record onto disc. What I was wondering is if there's a way I can set it up to record from my laptop? I have a dvd drive on the laptop, but when I've tried to record using it, it's created as a data file rather than a DVD. So wasn't sure if I could use the recorder?? Unfortunately I have misplaced the instruction manual which came with the DVD recorder. Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

  • Buying foreign currency online?

just wondering if anyone has done this before - used the moneysaving expert comparison site and there seems to be a place called 'the change group' that will deliver to my home address free of charge (with insurance) and is a better rate as opposed to those on the high street. But for the sake of saving £3, should I just go into a shop and buy euros tomorrow, or would it be better to have them sent??

    Cheers

  • Drycleaners for wedding dress- Manchester?

Does anyone have any positive experience of having a wedding dress dry-cleaned in the Manchester area. If so, recommendations would be welcolmed. I'm really worried that it could all go horribly wrong and I obviously don't want the dress to be ruined. I have heard some nightmare stories in the past, which is putting me off getting it done.

    Thanks in advance

  • Ebay - do they have to legally sell?

I have won an auction for just under £15, for a wedding dress which apparently cost about £1k. There was no reserve price set - and I have had an automatic email from ebay to say that I have won the item.

I would have thought the seller would cancel the auction before it was due to finish, because I can't really see her wanting to sell for such a low price (she did say in the item description that she was reluctant to sell the dress, but has recently had a baby and needs the money more...........so I kind of would feel cruel if she does sell it to me for that price) but it is a really nice dress and I am keen to own it and make good use of it too!

But I just wondered where do I stand?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Looking after 3 and a half wk old pet mouse?

I have had a total of 3 mice in the past, two of which reached a fine old age then went to the giant mouse wheel in the sky. I still have one adult mouse and hope she stays with me a while longer!

My friend bought two 'male' mice from a petstore and a short while later one had 11 babies. She took most of them to a different petstore yesterday however was reluctant to get rid of all of them. I've been told this one is a girl (by the lady at the petstore yesterday - apparantly the only girl in the litter?) and so felt really sorry for her in a cage alone so said I'd take her (she was the one I was most interested in when i saw them together)

She is in a separate cage to my other mouse. Is this for the best because I really don't want any breeding myself and still find it strange that out of 10 babies (the mum sadly ate one of the young) that only 1 was female. And I'm not 100% sure that my older one is female either.

The new mouse is 3.5 weeks old, she is one of the biggest ones out of the litter, but so small in comparison with my fully grown mouse. She doesn't seem to have any issues going to the bathroom. She has eaten a little since I got her yesterday, but I've never looked after such a young mouse before and wondering if there's something else I should be doing?

She has the general mix of dried mouse food in the cage along with fresh water. I don't think she needs kitten/puppy milk anymore from what I've read on other sites. Last night I soaked a litle bread into the water and she seemed to really enjoy a little nibble. Someone suggested breaksfast cereal like cheerios, I only have the honey variety in, will that be ok. How warm do I need to keep her - she has a toilet roll tube and stuffed it with the sawdust and bedding to make her own nest, but should i keep her cage covered or use a hot water bottle or is she past that stage? Sorry to ramble but most of the information I've read is designated to orphaned field mice, and I'm just really unsure of how best to care for the little 'un and hoping there's some experts out there who can offer me some help and advice. Thanks in advance!!
